Thought for the day ….

Good Morning and Welcome to Wednesday the 23rd day of May, 2018.

I started to key/type Tuesday the 22nd day of May, 2018 before I realized that it was mid week already.

WOW, when Monday is a stat holiday and you take Tuesday as a vacation day, the week really goes by quickly.

Yesterday we went for a walk bright and early (for us) before it got too warm.

Chatted with my sister a couple of times via FB messenger, which was nice.

We really had a quiet day and enjoyed my last day of vacation.

Back to work today.

But what a short week.

Can only imagine what it would be like to be home all of the time, retired.

Getting up when you chose to.

Taking on whatever projects you wanted to as money and time were not an object.

Does everything always boil down to time and or money?

Most of the time unfortunately it does.

But the choices we make bring us to the places of arrival.

The bright blue sky of a few minutes ago on the north side of the house has diminished somewhat due to some cloud cover at the south side of the house.

What a difference a few feet can make.

I have the windows open and you can hear the roar of vehicles on the nearby highway as folks travel to and from work.

Today is to be plus 30 degrees celsius.

So on this Wednesday I am going to continue to dream.

I dream of the day when I will retire.

Sleeping in if I wish.

Taking on whatever projects I wish as I will have more time.

But not to lose sight of today and making the most of each second, minute and hour.

Well here it is almost time to leave for work.

I hope that you all had a great long weekend.

Happy Wednesday.

Special Hello to:  my sister.

Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Tuesday the 30th day of August, 2016.

Can you believe it?

Two days left in August.

I believe that we went through this last month, the month before that and the months before that even.

What happens to the time?

It just seems to always go by at lightning speed.

The evenings for example by the time that I actually got to sit other than the 10 tens to eat, it was bedtime.

Task here and a task there.

Couple of phone calls.

Walking with Alvin.

Conversation with a neighbour on our way home – seems like our neighbourhood has been hit the summer with so much vandalism.

What is wrong with people?

Destroy your own things if you will but leave others alone.

Favour for a friend.

A visitor.

Some time on the computer.

Empty the garbage.

Mow the lawn.

The evening was gone.

Well at least I did get everything done that I had planned and not planned.

The sky is clear and that is nice.

Able to wear a skirt today instead of long pants, socks and shoes.

Nice change.

It has been cool here for the past couple of days.

Well almost time to hit the road.

Bit later as I have an appointment this morning outside of work.

Figured that as I did not sleep that I would just go from home.

Not fun when you cannot sleep.

Waking up each hour.

Dreaming in between.

What a strange night.

I hope that you have an awesome Tuesday.

Special Hello to: Everyone …..

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Monday the 14th day of September, 2015.

WOW, almost mid September.

My flowers are still blooming and looking awesome.

Love seeing flowers blooming in September.

The tea parTEA went off really well ….. Alvin loved having the company.

One of the ladies had her baby boy with her and Alvin was excited.

He kept going over and looking at him …

When he squirmed or cried a bit …. Alvin sure looked.

It was really cute to watch.

Well it is Monday and time to go back to the office.

It didn’t rain last night but they are forecasting rain for today.

I am going to have to get moving more quickly some mornings.

It is funny how some days one hour goes a long way and the next it is not long enough.

How does that work?

Doing the same amount of things?

Well I am grateful that both Alvin and I woke up and are healthy.

He is laying outside my office with his front paws crossed.

I love him …. he is so cute.

Well all is well here.

I hope that you have an amazing Monday.

Fill it with laughter and kindness.

Special Hello to: all my fellow bloggers out there …. keep up the great work.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Saturday the 12th day of September, 2015.

The sun is up and the sky is clear and there is a breeze.

YAY for Saturday.

In just over one hour my friends “G” and “S” are coming for coffee and a visit.

I miss them as we have not had a regular coffee visit together for a while.

Summer is busy for families.

Following their visit my daughter is coming for a visit, too.

What a great day.

Mr. Alvin is pacing the floor as he is excited for all of our company.

Wouldn’t it be nice if that is all a person had to do was to visit with family and friends.

Just entertain.

Entertain only.

I would love that ….

I definitely could have been the wife of a big CEO, and spent my time entertaining and doing charity work.

Well maybe not all of the time but I do love the though of entertaining.

Visiting …. chatting …. the planning and the execution.

What are the things that you love to do?

I have been thinking of that a lot as of late.

After you reach and past the age of “55” and now I am 58, you do spend time thinking about all the things you would like to be doing.

There has to be a way, right.

Yell up at the Universe … show me the way.

Something like that …..

Well slowly but surely I will get there.

I am doing some of the things that I love but only in small parcels …. that has to change.

I will find a way.

I will.

Well time for a shower and prepare for my, our company.

I hope that you have an awesome Saturday.

Remember do the things that you love / are passionate about and then find a way to make money doing them.

Special Hello to: my friends “V” and “M” who are doing the things they love.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Sunday the 23rd day of August, 2015.

It is a bright, sunny and breezy Sunday morning here in Edmonton.

I am preparing for a yard sale …. not in the garage but in the yard.

More accessible and visible being in the front yard on a busy street.

Today is the day that I am going to sell all of the items that I have chosen for the sale.

Alvin and I had a great day yesterday.

Started out with Alvin’s appointment with Dr. K….

Well it was great until she did the pedicure.

It is so strange that he doesn’t even wince when she does the anal sacs check (yuk).

It is so strange that he really did not fuss when she cleaned and checked his ears.

When I do his ears …. you would think …..

But when it came to his nails ….. he is a fuss pot.

He basically screeched …. I felt bad.

For the girls ……

When it was over he got a nice cookie.

I have taught Alvin how to ask nicely (manners are good for everyone including animals).

I missed the boat when he received the first cookie so I asked if he could display his skill for another cookie.

What a Momma …… yes, I know.

But I am proud and wanted to show them that he is more than the anxiety guy at pedicure time.

He proved me right and asked nicely ( he puts his paw up either in the air or when it is me, he usually paws my arm or leg whichever is closer).

He recognizes the words “ask nice.”

I was so proud of him.

They love him …. he is such a cute little guy and very loving.

I picked up a bag of his favourite treats and he was so happy.

After the appointment we went home to start laundry.

Gathered items for the lawn/yard sale.

The day passed …..

Mowed the front lawn.

Whenever I am outside mowing the lawn, a task that normally would take about 15 minutes usually takes over an hour because of people stopping to visit.

Mowing the lawn is a visitor magnet.

Well it is less than two hours until I should start putting things outside.

I have a good feeling that I am going to sell everything that I put out.

That would be so great.

Last night when Alvin and I were out for our evening stroll we saw one of the ladies in her back yard.

Their yard backs onto the lake in our neighbourhood.

I always admire the yard whenever we go by.

We talk about flowers and trees and things.

She is such a nice lady.

Every time I speak to her I learn more about her …. she is so interesting.

She came from China six years ago, and is close to my age (bit younger).

In China, she was a chemical engineer and retired after 26 years before moving here.

She lives here with her only and grown up son and his wife and daughter.

I asked about her husband and she said he is still in China as he is a businessman.

She works in a hotel here (what a change).

She said it is hard when you do not know the language and cannot get into a profession.

I felt so proud when she said she loves living in Canada …. most especially no pollution.

Fresh air as she took a deep breath.

What a great way to end the evening …. having a lovely chat with a wonderful person.

Time to fly …. shower …. coffee ….. prepare for sale …… work on the computer …. coffee …. sale…

YIKES.

Special Hello to: my friend “P” who is coming for a visit in two weeks.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the Day …….

Good Morning and Welcome to Tuesday the 21st day of April, 2015.

It is starting to lighten outside and it is 5:48 a.m

Oh, doesn’t that sound early?

I always have thought anything before 6:00 a.m. is ultra early.

It is for me.

But I am slowly adjusting.

One day at a time.

Alvin is like me …. one day at a time.

We enjoyed a whole hour outside walking and visiting along the way.

It was great …. what a wonderful way to spend a Monday evening.

The perfect way.

What did you do last night?

I will admit that I like to relax and not make any commitments as usually I am pooped after a Monday.

But it was great being outside enjoying the warm temperatures.

I turned the “furnace” off again and it was cool, is cool in here but it warms up so much over the course of the day that I figured might as well.

Soon it will be summer anyway.

I do love those weeks when the sun is shining before 6:00 a.m. and then stays up long after we have gone to bed.

It is great on those weekends, for sure.

Well time to go and catch that bus.

Day #2 …… I do miss the carpool ….. but the walking is good for me and my “middle” …… once the mid starts to expand you have no choice but to work on it.  The older you are …. well let me just say ….. it is a bit more challenging.

Special Hello to: all my fellow bus riders ….. you rock.  Early risers and all that jazz.

Always, Carol and Alvin
