Thought for the day ….

Good Morning and Welcome to Tuesday the 31st day of July, 2018.

Alvin and I had a wonderful walk this morning.

Not a soul was out and about.

A few houses along the way had their lights on at 5:00 a.m., so we were not the only ones up and about.

Now just putting the finishing touches on getting ready for work.

I have the office window open and not quite sure what the neighbour was doing but it was loud.

He had taken out their trash and turned on the car.

I think he is putting air in the tires.

It is loud.

at 6:15 a.m.

Well today is the day.

The company arrives tonight.

The fun begins.

So excited to have a visit with everyone and some time with my sister.

I miss not seeing her on a regular basis (we lived in the same city and worked for the same company at one point before I moved to Edmonton).

The neighbour…

He just back out of his driveway and it sounds like he has some brake issues.

Just an observation.

Back to the company.

Tonight.

Not sure what will happen tomorrow with Alvin and everyone.

He will certainly wonder why I am leaving him with a house full of people.

I know that my sister will keep an eye on him for me.

Well life is full of surprises.

Like last night when the sky would cloud up and I was sure that it would rain.

Then the sun would shine.

No rain.

This morning there are some rain clouds in the sky.

Just felt a cool breeze wafting in through the open office window.

Feels so refreshing as it washes over my face.

I did not water flowers last night because I was certain it was going to rain.

Now the temperature seems cooler all of a sudden so perhaps we will get a shower this morning.

The sun is rising in the east and I can see the beams bouncing off of a neighbour’s house.

Thank you to everyone who read my poem yesterday.

I love to write and definitely should do more ….

Perhaps I will be inspired over the next week or so.

Family, vacation, Family …. did I say vacation.

YES.

Have an awesome day.

Tuesday it is and Tuesday it shall be.

Be kind.

Be generous.

Be wise.

Be gentle.

Be you.

Special Hello to: my sister ….. not long now.

Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day ……

Good Morning and Welcome to Saturday the 1st day of October, 2016.

One month from today is the day that I typically put up and decorate my Christmas Tree.

This year I believe that November 1st falls on a Wednesday so I may take the liberty and put up my tree on the Friday.

It will be a couple of days later than usual but there are times that it is beyond my control.

Most times since I moved to Edmonton it has become a Mother – Daughter time together decorating the tree.

Also since I moved I purchased a much bigger tree and this Momma finds it difficult to put it up by herself.

Now I can do it but would prefer to have help whenever possible.

Now I do not wish to get ahead of myself as we are celebrating all things falls for the month of October.

Last night after our walk I raked the leaves from the front yard.

I almost filled a blue bag full of yellow leaves.

Now this morning you would never know that I had cleaned up the leaves as there is an even bigger blanket covering the grass.

But this morning it is gloomy to say the least.

No sunshine in the near forecast.

It was raining when we got up both times.

Now it has stopped.

Today is laundry and bit of cleaning day. AND

Time for Mr. Alvin to have a haircut and a bath.

I also have to run to the store for a few things and pick up my bus pass.

I sure hope that it stops raining …… carrying groceries and an umbrella can be tricky.

Looking out of my office window there are some green leaves covering trees and some red and some yellow.

They are poking out from between closely standing homes.

I always thought it was strange but I do understand the reason but do not necessarily agree with it.

Everyday on the bus we drive through a neighbourhood that has been around for over 50 years at least.

The yards are huge …. likely over an acre.

You could put three houses side by side in the space in these yards compared to the new neighbourhoods.

What other than taxes could be the reason?

Perhaps space but heck we live in Canada and space is not a restricted commodity.

I guess depending on where you are building it may be.

But really, how many people really want to spend on average $400,000 to see inside their neighbour’s window.

I swear that in one of the newest neighbourhoods along my bus route you could literally put your hand out of the upstairs window and touch the

house next door.

Really …..

Why?

These are my thoughts for today as I sip on a nice cup of coffee.

I guess it is time to get dressed and get going on my projects for the day.

Giving Alvin a haircut and bath usually takes me about three hours.

Not his favourite things to do that is for sure.

So happy that this is the weekend.

Happy to spend time in my home.

So happy that I put away the deck furniture and cleaned up most things.

YAY me for being progressive and not putting it off.

Have a GREAT Saturday.

Thank you for reading my blog.

I am forever grateful.

Special Hello to: my daughter, my sister and my friends, thank you.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Tuesday the 31st and last day of May, 2016.

It was an interesting month.

This morning is bright and sunny …… the rain of yesterday is gone.

We are appreciating the moisture as it was badly needed.

Today marks the birthday of my friend “G” …… Happy Birthday G, me and Alvin wish you a great day.

We are celebrating her birthday with our coffee group on Saturday.

I do have a cute story to share.

Last night when Alvin and I were on the homeward stretch of our walk we could see up ahead our black/white cat friend.

I had forgot his name.

There were cars zooming by on the street.

Then I noticed this young man coming up behind the cat.

I knew the cat would likely dart out onto the street because of Alvin.

I held Alvin back and hoped that he remained quiet.

Out of the blue this young man knelt down beside the cat to keep the cat from darting out onto the street.

I was so relieved that the cat would allow him to pick him up (sometimes they do not when they are strangers).

Then he noticed us and picked up the cat.

When we were within speaking distance, I gratefully thanked the young man for saving this cat.

I knew this cat.

He lives in one of the big houses by the lake and usually he is prowling about in the trees and grassy area by the water but not this time.

I told the young man about the cat.

He carried him to the next block and then let him go toward home.

What a thoughtful and considerate young man.

I am so grateful for him and his compassion for this cat that he did not know.

It was funny when we were close and Alvin wanted to say hi, the cat hissed.

I guess cat was grateful for not sure of Alvin’s intentions.

Alvin loves cats because he was surrounded by them in his foster home and we have had/have cats close to home.

This was a happy good story to end my day.

I was so relieved and grateful.

Well here we go almost time to leave for the bus and work once again.

Where does the time go?

I hope that you have a great day.

Take a peek around and I am certain that you will have your own nice story to share.

Special Hello to:  all those folks young and old who help animals, thank you.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day….

Good Morning and Welcome to Monday the 5th day of May, 2014.

WOW, it is incredibly “foggy” outside this morning.

I can barely see the houses behind my garage.

It seems so eerie ….. so unearthly quiet whenever it is foggy.

I guess we will be getting rain in ninety days or so the stories go.

Quick, cute story.

I was in the bathroom …… applying my face this morning ….. when Alvin walked in and was sniffing around …….he walked over to the shower door and looked up.

He growled once ….. small and sharp …… I told him ……”Alvin,  that is you” …… He looked for a few seconds longer and then walked away…….So cute.

Alvin is absolutely a darling …… he keeps me smiling and my heart full of love.

Well I guess I better start the trek downstairs and put the finishing touches on getting ready for work.

You know grab the lunch and pack my bag.

Go out and pick up the “poop.” ……. always good to keep the backyard clean.

Someone lunch and poop in the same thought ….. not so much.

Have a great …. awesome ….. fantastic Monday.

As you go through your day remind yourself of something “cute” like my story about Alvin and surely a smile shall adorn your face.

Happy Monday.

Special Hello to: my grand-puppies … I know if they could read … they would read Grandma’s blog.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day…….

Have you ever walked by a house and wondered what the house looked like inside?

How was it decorated?

Who lived there?

Did they have children? A dog?

Did they go on winter vacations?

Did they have a big backyard?

Did they go out to eat often?

Did they have two cars?

Did they have a big family?

I use my imagination.

Likely part of the reason why I love to write.

The make believe aspect of it all.

I guess I am a dreamer by nature, and often wonder all or some of the above as I stroll by.

It is human nature to wonder, to think, to ponder.

We  are a curious lot, and have a fascination with what other have …. my curiosity comes from a positive place.

Not because I am jealous or want what everyone else has …..

I just simply WONDER.

Food for thought.

So on this Tuesday, August 2nd, 2011 ……. use your imagination as you travel through this day.

It is a healthy thing to do.

Always, Carol
