Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Wednesday the 27th day of March, 2019.

Well we had a rainy day on Tuesday …..  we missed our walk last night.

Sometimes I wished that Alvin had a raincoat with a hood.

I have to be careful that he doesn’t get an yeast infection.

It can happen from excess moisture in the ears.

Who knew?

We opted out last night but he spent time on the deck and every time he came into the house – out came the towel.

Tonight I have a meeting and our friend is watching over him.

Perhaps it will be nice and she will take him for a walk.

Otherwise we will have to play catchup tomorrow and over the weekend.

Not so bad.

******************************

I read the following just before signing on to do this post.

It was surrounded by math problems.

Love is many things none of which is logical.

I would tend to agree with this statement.

Love is anything but logical.

We all know and remember poems and song lyrics about love.

Nothing logical about any of them.

Perhaps love is an opinion.

After all we all love differently.

Some we understand and some we do not.

But we cherish LOVE above all else.

There is the love of another human being.

There is the love of one’s children.

Different love between you and your parents, for example.

There is the love of money.

There is the love of material items.

After all that priceless family heirloom was purchased with love and handed down over the generations with love.

There is the love of animals.

I love my Alvin.

There is the love of nature.

I love walking by a lake with tall grasses waving in a breeze.

I love watching animals in nature.

There is the love of food.

Who does not love chocolate.

There is the love of oneself.

Many levels of self love.

There is the love of a rain storm.

Yes, love the excitement of thunder and lightning.

There is the love of sports.

There is the love of exercise.

There is the love of music.

That song that you simply cannot live without.

There is the love of love.

Anyway you look at it LOVE covers a great deal of ground.

Funny how one statement can spark conversation or in this case a great many statements.

I hope that wherever you are and whatever you are doing that you love yourself, you are safe, you are in good health and are surrounded with love and support.

Happy Wednesday.

Have a wonderful day.

Special Hello to: my friends and family all over this world.

Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Saturday the 30th day of April, 2016.

Last day of April and to think that Mother’s Day is literally one week from tomorrow.

The sun is shining brightly and there is a slightly cool breeze at this time.

A bit later than I usually write this blog but we were up ultra late (after midnight) and first up at 6:00 (Alvin had to have breakfast).

Back to bed for a few more zzz’s as I have determined this to be a cold more than allergies.

My nose is red and dry ….. I would really like to just curl up on the sofa with my coffee and watch television all day but life goes on and there are things to do.

Isn’t that how it works?

Right.

We always need clean clothes and towels.

The floors need to be swept / vacuumed.

Things need to be dusted.

Paperwork to do …..

I really wanted to go and clean the walkway to 62nd Avenue for the fourth time this spring.

It is disgusting.

Each time I walk through I want to scream.

What is wrong with people?

I would love to find a way to make people more responsible for their throwaway stuff.

Someday.

One piece of garbage at a time.

Alvin is getting restless.

We sure enjoyed our walk last night.

We walked on the grass all around our lakes in the park near our house, and it was so nice.

I saw from across the lake four teenage boys throwing rocks into the water near some geese.

We were walking in that direction anyway so I took the opportunity to impart some wisdom.

As we got nearer there was one boy on the sidewalk away from the others.

Alvin was growling at him as we approached.

Only the second time he has ever growled at a human being.

The kid was on his cell phone… so not sure what was going on with Alvin.

Anyway I politely checked out the situation by slowly moving toward them.

They said they were throwing rocks into the water but not at the geese.

I politely returned by saying “If you were the geese would you like someone throwing rocks near you.”

I also pointed out that the lake was their home, and should be treated with respect.

The young man that was doing all the talking did not quite not what to say.

I did not continue further as they had stopped, and moved away from the water, rocks and the geese.

As they got nearer to the boy on the sidewalk – one asked what kind of dog Alvin was, and they smiled when I told them his name.

It ended up “friendly” but I could not resist making sure these kids knew it was not acceptable to treat wildlife in this manner.

I honestly do not think they were bad – just nothing better to do.

Well I guess I had better get going …. my clothes will not be climb into the washer on their own.

Laundry time.

I hope that you have an awesome Saturday …. last day of April, 2016.

I also want to thank my daughter for driving her Momma home from work yesterday, following that drove me to the grocery store, and to the Vet’s to grab some food for her brother.

Yes, I used my $50.00 gift card.

Perfect.

What would I do without my girl.

She is the most gracious, thoughtful, kind-hearted human being, and I cannot believe that she has some of my genes floating around inside her.

Everyday I am so proud of the most wonderful person she has become, and continues to be.

She is simply the best.

We love her very very much.

Happy Saturday Everyone …..

Special Hello to: all those folks who take the time to read my blog – it is so appreciated.

Thought for the day…..

Good Morning and Welcome to Tuesday the 13th day of January, 2015.

Today is the 50th Birthday of my baby, my little brother.

He was born January 13th, 1965.

I cannot believe that he is 50.

He was born a few months before my 8th Birthday.

He was a good natured, shy little guy.

He has grown up to be a good natured, not so shy guy.

Although I would say that he is not as much an extrovert as me.

But nonetheless he is a wonderful caring, loving human being.

He is a brother, father, grandfather, friend, Uncle, cousin and human being.

I want to wish him the Best Birthday ever.

May his day be filled with great joy and laughter and love, of course.

Happy Birthday “T” …..

On the family front, I spoke to the brother of my nephew that “WAS” in the coma and I am happy to report that he is “awake” ….

He does not communicate verbally but he does communicate.

Most especially with his brother.

So this is a great day …..

I wish you all a great day.

Special Hello to: all my family …… “Birthday Boy” and “Getting Better Boy.”

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day…..

Good Morning ….. well actually it is Afternoon and Welcome to Saturday the 13th day of September, 2014.

Just back from having coffee with my friend “”G” …… oh my goodness we always have a good laugh or three.

Everyone on the planet should have a great friend like my “G” …..

She challenges me in subtle ways without even knowing…… and always has good information….

She makes me laugh so hard that I literally almost “pee” my pants.

That is the thing that I love the most about her ….. is that she makes me laugh.

She can tell a story like no other.

She is supportive and a great listener.

She is such an incredible human being that she constantly inspires me to be a better person.

She is only “35” …… how wonderful is that.

I love having starting my day off with her ….

Now down to work …

Clean up the flower pots, put the patio furniture in the garage ( make room in said garage ).

Do laundry …. clean bathrooms …… and the regular stuff.

Kids took Miss Penny to the Vet for a check-up ….. she has a lump …. I know it will be okay …..

I think the boys need to go for a walk so perhaps pop in some laundry and then take Alvin and Elton for a walk.

So beautiful outside.

My thought for this day is that I am so incredibly blessed and I hope that you are too.

Always surround yourself with good people and you will be inspired to be good, too.

YAY …. Happy Saturday .

I hear laundry calling …..

Special Hello to: my sister C ….. must contact as we need to SKYPE ……

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day….

Welcome to Monday, December 10th, 2012.

Wow, only a couple of weeks till Christmas.

Are you ready?

Do you celebrate?

I think the best part of this whole holiday season is being together with family and friends.

Sharing what you have ….

If you are out and about and see someone less fortunate than yourself …. give them something.

Whether it is a few dollars for a cup of coffee and a sandwich or perhaps that sweater that you just bought for your holiday wardrobe … but you really do not need it ….

Go through your winter clothing and give things you no longer wear or need to charity to help dress folks for the winter.

Now I know that some people do not live in sub zero climates but helping others with needed clothing is helpful no matter the climate.

Well it is my early day to work so I must sign off.

Just remember to be charitable and help your fellow “human being” ….

The more you give the better you feel….. no matter your station in life.

Take care.

Happy Holidays to you all.

Special Hello to:  FAMILY AND FRIENDS EVERYWHERE !!

RECIPE FOR A GREAT DAY

Arise with a smile on your face feeling like you have just been told the best news ever.

While you are washing the sleep from your face, look into the mirror and say to yourself  “My goodness you are one beautiful human being”.

Walk around the house saying “thank you” …..

To every living being you meet greet with a big hearty HELLO with a SMILE on your face.

While you are washing the day from your face, look into the mirror and say to yourself “My goodness you are one beautiful human being.”

While you are lying down to sleep – give thanks for such a great day, and for tomorrow.

I guarantee this will work and makes for the best day.

Also if you are blessed enough to have a pet or more and some children in your life …… well that is another great recipe……

Take Care and HAVE A GREAT DAY !!!
