It is a NEW YEAR

Well Good Morning and WELCOME to FRIDAY.

Today is the last day of the first month of the New Year.

Is that not super crazy that we are done the first month?

I can hear that puppy crying for me on the other side of the gate.

Our little escape artist finally cannot get out/up.

She can push the metal enclosure to get to the steps going upstairs.

Usually I have a baby gate / heavy basket blocking and that keeps Teddy from coming up.

But not the baby.

Oh, she is determined.

She does not give up.

This morning I had a brilliant idea to use the gate that Kobi’s Mom brought over.

Yes, it worked great as it goes all the way across.

So I placed it on one of the lower steps and on the other side pushed the heavy basket.

She cannot move it or get around.

So she is crying/squeaking/barking for me as she sits on one of the lower steps.

What a character.

Thankfully last night everyone slept pretty well …. Alvin did get up to go outside about 3:00 a.m. but that is normal.

Kobi slept until he woke up.

I am a happy camper this morning.

Hopefully tonight will be a clean house when I arrive home.

It was so icy that we only made it to the park and home.

I took Kobi and Teddy first, brought them home and then took Mr. Alvin.

He is doing well despite having a five month puppy at him every day all day long.

Poor Teddy I think is exhausted.

She does not give up.

I get that she loves to play but poor Teddy.

Anyway if you are ever thinking about getting a puppy for a child/children and that they will be able to take care of him/her, think again?

Puppies are a lot of work.

They have boundless energy and NEEDS.

Be prepared.

Do your homework.

Just because they are cute and cuddy, does not mean that they are not work.

You owe it to that puppy as well.

At Christmas, this is what happens.

Cute puppy.

Let’s buy that for the kiddos for Christmas.

One week or less into caring for the energetic puppy adding into the mix many sleepless night ….

Parents take the pup to the Humane Society or some other organization.

Very sad.

Please know what you are getting into …. perhaps puppy sit for someone who has a puppy.

Anyway almost time to go and rescue Miss Kobi from the bottom step.

She wants so badly to come up to see me.

I have time for cuddles now.

So I shall sign off.

Time to go and give some love to the pups and to let them outside for one final pee/poo.

Have an awesome Friday.

YAY, it is the weekend.

So excited.

Always, Carol, Alvin, Teddy and Kobi.

Thought for the day……

Good Morning and Welcome to Wednesday the 22nd day of October, 2014.

WOW, it is another gorgeous day.

Last night after visiting my nephew at the hospital; arriving home feeding puppies – me and Alvin went for a walk.

Well we started to go on a walk.

Once we reached the front sidewalk (it was dark); I realized that my neighbour had just arrived home.

So we chatted for a bit and out of the blue this yellow coloured cat came strolling down the sidewalk.

Alvin was pulling a bit on the leash and wagging his tail.

He was in the foster home with four cats so I know he likes them.

But not since then has he been that close to a cat.

The cat came right up to us …..

Alvin was sniffing her and they were fine.

She didn’t hiss or snarl and Alvin didn’t bite her.

They were really good together.

This cat has been coming around for awhile and we have been trying to figure out if it has a home.

There are a lot of cats in our neighbourhood and some of them like to prowl around at night.

We have seen this cat during the day on occasion.

We discussed what to do about the cat.

She was going to try and get her into the house so that she could take the cat to the Humane Society.

I thought because Alvin and said cat got along so well that maybe I would adopt her ( I am calling the cat “her” because Alvin loves the ladies, so has to be a female) once the kids got moved into their new house.  There are too many people/animals in the house at the moment.  She would be scared.  Perhaps.

So my neighbour thought she could take the cat until then.

Alvin and I went on a walk and when we came home …. their front door was open as they were trying to coax the cat inside but to no avail.  They took a photo and are going to post it on KIJIJI and then check with the Humane Society.

So it was a great night.

My nephew continues to make slow progress….. his body is healing amazingly well…… just need him to keep his eyes open and start to see things ….. he will, I know.

Well time to go to the office again.

I hope that you have a great day.

Always exciting at my house.

Special Hello to: everyone, with winter around the corner if you see any stray animals please report them to your local Humane Society or SPCA so that they will not freeze outdoors.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day….

Well here it is Tuesday, January 15th, 2013 and GOOD MORNING TO YOU ALL !!

Just wondering what your weather is like where you are located?

Well surprise, surprise mid January and it is RAINING, yes, RAINING.

Last week it was 30 below celsius and now it is clearly above 0.

We truly have the most amazing weather.

I hope that everyone has a safe drive to work this morning.

The past few mornings Alvin has stood beside the ottoman that is under the office window and barked.

Usually he jumps up and looks out the window.

Now all of a sudden he doesn’t want to climb up.

Now he jumps onto “our” bed with no problem and it three times the height of the ottoman.

Not sure why.

He is a funny guy …. well I mean dog….

It has been interesting the past few days giving him ear drops …. they are not his favourite thing for sure.

But he struggles just enough to make me work for it…… I can tell.

Well I should run here …. my ride will be earlier today.

I hope that you all have a great day.

I hope that you accomplish everything on your TO DO List.

If you do not have one ….. they are a great tool to use as they help you to feel like you have accomplished something ….. gives you a boost.

I know that they work for me …….

It doesn’t matter if you only get to a couple of things ….. it is that you got a couple of things done.

Special Hello to: all those pet owners out there and to those who are looking to adopt a pet …. there are so many good agencies out there …. SCARS and Humane Society …. check them out.

If we all help out we could save more animal lives…..

One day, perhaps at the end of this year …. I am thinking of adopting another puppy dog…… good company for Alvin …… we will have to “talk about it”….

Always, Carol and Alvin
