Thought for the day ….

Good Morning and Welcome to Saturday the 4th day of August, 2018.

Already well into August …. where does the time go?

A beautiful morning.

You can see the sun trying to peek through the cloud cover.

There is a breeze.

First time in a long while where we slept with no fan blowing on us.

With the window open last night it was so comfortable.

Even had the blankets on ….

Well we had fun at West Edmonton Mall yesterday.

The Nephew decided that he wanted to go to Galaxyland and go on the rides.

Galaxyland has 27 or so rides including two rollercoasters.

One makes people scream in terror and the other makes them scream in delight.

The boy went on the smaller rollercoaster four times.

He went on the ship – twice.

He also went on this ride that “tested” your G-force ability – twice. (that ride went up 130 feet in 2 seconds or so at about 40 kms).

His Grandma and his Aunt were just as happy to be watching and taking photos from a distance.

We did some shopping and were finished and on our way home before it got too crazy busy in the mall.

Tomorrow the company leaves.

Both Alvin and I are going to miss them.

This morning while we were having coffee, I happen to stand up and noticed a HUMMINGBIRD in my flowers just outside the kitchen window.

Managed to snap a couple of photos.

I had the kitchen window open and Alvin let out a bark and the Hummingbird was gone.

I do hope that it comes back to visit.

Wishing that the photos were more sharp.

Well better get back to my company.

Alvin and I are hosting a BIG BIRTHDAY PARTY tonight for all the August birthdays.

We will have 5 adults including me, 3 children including one almost teenager and 3 dogs.

Auntie and I have some food prep to do so we better get cracking.

Supper is not until 7:00 p.m. so we have lots of time.

But nice to be done early so we can relax a bit before the company arrives.

Happy Saturday already.

Special Hello to: my family and friends here and there.

Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day ….

Good Morning and  Welcome to Wednesday the 25th day of April, 2018.

As April winds down and Spring has definitely sprung; we are happy for the months ahead.

Summer: no socks, sandals, capris, sometimes shorts (not short shorts for me), light sweater or somedays just a top.

Happy Days.

So nice not to spend 5 minutes or so donning your outer apparel.

I saw a Robin the other day as I was chatting to a friend when we were out for out walk.

That was the first Robin that I had seen thus far this spring.

We usually have Robins by our home.

I have a bird house in the back yard.

Usually there are some of the smaller birds debating over who gets the house this year.

Most times the Magpies and the Crows scare the little ones away.

A handful of times I have had a Hummingbird in my backyard.

Oh, how I love those little ones.

So gorgeous.

Another creature that I love is the Dragonfly.

We used to see huge ones around our house at the front and the back.

The past couple of years they have all but disappeared.

Not sure why.

Here are a couple of photos, they were big.

Soon it will be time for planting flowers.

One of my favourite times of year.

I love to get my hands dirty.

I love to watch the flowers grow and show off their beautiful blooms.

All things baby soon.

Well time to get this show on the road.

Cute story.

This morning while I was brushing my teeth, Alvin was in the bathroom with me.

Cause where else would he be?

He sat there and just starred at me brushing my teeth.

I was so hoping that perhaps he could understand better when I was brushing his and perhaps let me really brush them well.

Not so much.

I brushed his right after mine.

He was more than happy to jump up onto the bed and lick his tasty toothpaste while I “brushed his teeth.”

I do get them brushed, most specially the front ones but the back ones are another story.

Just keep trying every day and have done this for the past 8 years.

Happy Wednesday.

Happy Spring.

Special Hello to: my friend “V”

Always, Carol & Alvin

(Somehow this appears not to have been published on Wednesday, so better late than never, I guess).

Thought for the day….

Good Morning Everyone ….. today is Tuesday, July 17th, 2012.

Today marks the one year wedding anniversary of my neighbours and good friends, Sherie and Todd.

I hope that they have a wonderful day.

The SKY IS BLUE, LIGHT BLUE and the SUN is SHINING.

YAY.  After several days of cloudy skies and RAIN, it is wonderful to see the sun shine.

All of the plants, trees, grass and flowers are excited to have the sun shine after all of the rain.

I was in the process of downloading some photos that I snapped last night of a couple of the lakes that are close by my home but alas I could not get them downloaded in time.

As you see I had over 400 photos to download (hadn’t realize there were so many) …. actually forgot that the memory card is the same one that the kids used with my camera when they were in San Diego.

So hence all of the photos.  Anyway, I am close …. will download them this evening and post some tomorrow on my blog ….. it is truly incredible how much water and how high it is ….. crazy.

Anyway, I hope that everyone has a truly wonderful, amazing, crazy good/great day.

Alvin and I sure enjoyed our walk around part of the lake last night even though we had to go up to the sidewalk at the top (you will see what I mean when I post the photos).

Oh, I almost forgot to tell you all.  Guess what I saw on our way home last night …… me and Mr. Alvin were just walking by my friend Gillian’s house when I saw these huge DRAGONFLIES.

They were the size of a small bird …. I would say close to a hummingbird and at first I saw one, then two and then several.  I didn’t have time to get my camera out as they swirled about us.

They were beautiful ….. I believe that these are some of the most unique creations ….  love them….. I felt like I was in another place.  They lifted my spirits and carried me home.

Well …. time to go…

Please take the time and enjoy those moments when they arise …… it truly can be a most rewarding experience and make you feel so good/great/awesome.

Special Hello to: all those people affected by the rising waters and the forest fires ….. we wish you good contractors and some dry days, and safety and rain…..take care.

Always, Carol and Alvin.
