Living … One day at a time.

Good Morning,

Today is even more about gratitude as we await news about a loved one.

Surgery is scary, and we know in our hearts that our loved one will come through and live a long healthy life surrounded by his family and friends.

So I thought that I would share a poem that I wrote several years ago.

Simply titled, THE THANK YOU POEM.

THE THANK YOU POEM

Thank you for the sunshine

Thank you for the rain

Thank you for the laughter

Thank you for the pain

Thank you for the cool nights

Thank you for the warm days

Thank you for the love

Thank you for the way it fills my heart

Thank you for each buzzing bee

Thank you for all the trees

Thank you for the roses

Thank you for their sweet smell

Thank you for my family

Thank you for the way

Thank you for my dog, Alvin

Thank you for this heaven

Thank you for the abundance

Filling my day – keeping me full

Thank you for the sun, the moon and the stars

Thank you for old ladies, young men

Thank you for music played on guitars

And then !!!

Thank you

Please keep your loved ones close, and envelope them in a sea of love.

Near or far reach out and tell them “that you love them.”

Do this every chance that you have.

You are important to me and I love you.

Thank you

Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day….

Good Morning and Welcome to a Wonderful Wednesday the 12th day of February, 2014.

How are you doing this fine morning?

I hope that you are feeling great and are ready to start the best day of your life.

Did you say “thank you” for everything in your life as you arose from bed and got ready to start the day?

Did you eat a good breakfast?

Am I starting to sound like your “Mother?”

Time to “laugh” ……

Both of the above are so important to getting off to a great start.

Being thankful and grateful for being awake and alive.

Being thankful for food in your belly.

Being thankful for clean drinking water.

Being thankful for your loved ones.

Being thankful for your job.

When you are thankful for what you have   –   you are allowing more to come into your life.

So on this mid week day be grateful.

I hope that you have the best day of this New Year.

Happy Wednesday.

Special Hello to: EVERY SOUL ….. YOU ARE IMPORTANT TO US ALL.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day …… it all starts with m-a-n-n-e-r-s !!

Why is it that people these days forget to say please, thank you and your welcome?

Perhaps it is because most people are too busy thinking of how things affect them to see what is going on around them.

Manners are so important.  Parents, please teach your children to say “PLEASE, THANK YOU and YOUR WELCOME”.

Something so seemingly small – can carry so much weight.

I must say that – that was one of the first things that I taught my daughter when she was a little girl.

Whenever she was away from home – people would always remark to me on how polite she was ….. that meant the world to me.  If you are going to teach your child anything – manners are the most important and will get them the furthest.  Not only the fact that they will get far with being polite, but it is the RIGHT THING TO DO.  Somewhere along the way – we got so hung up on ourselves that we forgot others.  Our communities are so important as is our sociability with others.

I am trying to teach my dog “Alvin” to have manners.  It might take me awhile but I am going to do it.  GOL (giggling out loud)

So that is my thought for the day, “it all starts with manners”.  Say “thank you” when someone opens the door for you.  Say “please” when you are asking for something.  Say “your welcome” when you are done.  So easy.  Give it a try.  Take the time to hold open a door for someone and say “Your Welcome” (even if they do not say thank you) and SMILE.  Believe me, people will start catching on.

HAVE A GREAT DAY.  Remember your manners and to smile.  We only have this one life so why not show everyone that it matters.  Believe you me …… it matters.

P.S. I saw that smile on your face,  and that twinkle in your eye…….  🙂
