Living … One day at a time.

Hello, How are you?  Good Morning.

Well we did have a rain shower last night.

I missed the big event, thankfully.

Although my little buddy was awake ultra early ….. @ 2:30 a.m. ….. outside and then back to the sofa.

He was restless.

But he is good now and can rest during the day.

Me on the other hand can only hope that I can retain my “awakeness” and some sense of memory and all of that ….

Can you tell that my sleep was choppy?

Yup.

I can.

Kind of hard to formulate complete intelligent sentences when you are sleep deprived.

Oh well, it is Friday and I will manage.

Reminds me of when my daughter was a small child.

I guess this has come full circle.

Well I, we are excited as tomorrow the GRAND PUPS “Miss Aspen” and “Baby Milo” are coming to spend the day with us.

I also have a coffee party with the young ones in the morning for a couple of hours which I may cut short by a bit so that I can be with the pups.

Time is precious after all.

So these are my grand pups.

Miss Aspen in the top photo and Baby Milo in the bottom photo.

I placed my FALL or AUTUMN wreath on the door a few days ago.

I guess we are close to that time.

This photo is from a long time ago when the wreath was fairly new.

The wreath has a more weathered look now and I have it placed differently on the door.

Perhaps I shall take another photo.

Okay, I guess that I am babbling.

Am catching a ride with my neighbour as my carpool took the day off.

Just enough time now to have Alvin go outside for an extra bathroom break and grab my lunch.

I am catching the bus home so will be later and Alvin … well better to take an extra one.

I hope that you are having an awesome morning thus far.

Have a great Friday.

Remember to influence life with kindness and respect.

COUNTDOWN: 60 Days to 60

Today is Friday, July 28, 2017 and it is the 13th day until my 60th Birthday.

Well as the curtain begins to rise on my upcoming 60th Birthday.

I was thinking what else can I share regarding 60 years of life and experience.

Perhaps ADVICE.

Likely one of the single most pieces of advice that was ever given to me was this by my Paternal Grandmother, Stella.

Now, we did not always see eye to eye on things but likely due to the 56 year age difference.

But we agreed on a great many things.

My Grandmother was educated and very intelligent.

She rarely showed signs of emotion and me, well I plainly wear my heart on my sleeve.

Perhaps we were a good bit of YING and YANG.

I learned so much from her over my lifetime until she passed at age 97 in 1998.

So the advice was simply this:  “everything in moderation.”

It applied not only to food but to life.

If you live a life of moderation then you would live a good long life.

Or at least increase the likelihood of such.

So that is what I would like to leave with you for today….

Those pearls of wisdom from my Grandmother who was an amazing woman.

“Everything in Moderation.”

Always, Carol

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Wednesday the 5th day of July, 2017.

Well today’s post did not make it out bright and early as my usual weekday ones as I had no INTERNET this morning.

It was a good thing that I accidentally PUBLISHED my COUNTDOWN post as it would have waited until now, as well.

It was another gorgeous day.

Getting hotter as the week goes on.

Learned something from two friends yesterday as my air conditioning needs servicing and I have to wait to get it done.

Suggestions to turn on the furnace fan (not a/c), just the fan.

Between the blinds closed all day, and then turning on the fan and now with the breeze our home is COOL.

Thank you friends.

Did anyone notice that I accidentally PUBLISHED my COUNTDOWN post last night and not this morning?

I was getting a head start so that I do not have to try and be semi intelligent and composed in the wee hours of the morning ….

What did I do but ACCIDENTALLY clicked on the published button instead of SAVE DRAFT.

You caught me….

Well I hope that you had an awesome day.

So excited that I have a tomato plant flowering and some pea plants actually coming up.

Who knew that I had a green thumb?

Not me.

Time for bed.

Thanks for sharing your time with me, I appreciate it.

Special Hello to: my sister …. getting closer.

Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day ……

Good Morning and Welcome to Thursday the 17th of November, 2016.

Dark outside but no added snow overnight which is good.

Yesterday was about +2 degrees celsius.

We are enjoying this weather before winter hits/arrives.

Even the bunnies are white.

So it goes without saying that it is not the snow that drives the turning of their coats from brown to white.

The man-made lakes/ponds in our nearby parks have started to freeze over.

There was still some “running” water last night.

I was reminded yesterday at our staff meeting which was off-site of the reasons I journal and write this blog.

Mainly it is because it is something that I love to do and the other reason is it helps me to destress.

Most of my life I have tried to see the silver lining in every situation.

Now sometimes it may take me a bit of time to reach that positive end but eventually I do.

It is like most things in life if you find the pot of gold too early then you missed the journey learning along the way.

Does that make sense?

In every moment there is something to learn giving us cause to grow.

Being positive does not mean being “happy” in every second of every day but it does mean that you are on the plus side more often

than not.

Makes sense?

There are days when getting my “tongue” wrapped around what I am thinking in my mind are two different things.

It is so funny that what I am thinking sounds so intelligent and meaningful but by the time it reaches my tongue or fingertips it has been transposed to

some degree.

Well on this note it is almost time to finish getting ready and head out for the bus.

I will get Alvin’s results tonight at the Vet (from his laser light therapy) as I need to stop and pick up food and toothpaste for him.

His ride said that he was nervous and had anxiety.

Will be interesting to get the results tonight.

I will share tomorrow.

Happy Thursday Everyone.

Try to find the silver lining in your day.

Keep a journal, writing down what you are grateful for is so beneficial.

Special Hello to: EVERYONE

Always, Carol and Alvin
