The Next Chapter

Good Morning! How are you this morning? I had a fair sleep last night. So excited that today is Friday. Wishing a dear friend Terry, Happy Birthday on this March 17th, 2023. Also HAPPY ST. PATRICK’s DAY. Part of my ancestors is Irish, so I feel akin to this day. Did you know that St. Patrick was the patron saint of Ireland, of course you did. Did you know that he was kidnapped and enslaved but eventually escaped. He returned to the Emerald Island where he furthered “Christianity” and it is believe that he died on March 17th. The reason why we celebrate him on this day. I just like the idea of celebrating the Irish (we should celebrate everyone). I wear green because it makes me feel alive and happy. Kelly Green is my shade of green. Happy St. Patrick’s Day for any reason, we should celebrate something everyday whether it is for being able to get out of bed in the morning or because spring is close by, Whatever you are grateful for – celebrate.

I am grateful for walks after work. Last night I ran into Allie and Bailey. Bailey saw me from a distance and literally dragged Allie to me. We had a great visit and walk together. We also bumped into Janet with Eddie and Bruno. Wonderful having friends.

I am celebrating my Alvin who remains close to my heart (forever) and always in my thoughts. I know this sounds off but I carry his urn around the house with me. If I go to bed, he comes upstairs with me and when I go back down, I take him down. So he is with me. I miss him, I will always miss him. Last night I received a text from his best friend Teddy’s Mom saying that they are in the city and would like to visit. I am happy to see them but sad. I know that seeing Teddy and his little sister Kobi would have been amazing. He will be with us in spirit and I am sure that they will feel him with us.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day (Green is my favourite colour and well Alvin, my beautiful Angel).

Have a wonderful day.

Continuing to live this life with kindness, respect, compassion, patience, love, laughter, understanding, gratitude, focus, possibilities, coffee and forgiveness.

Always, Carol & Alvin (my forever Angel).

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Friday the 17th day of March, 2017.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day Everyone …..

Today is the 60th Birthday of my dear friend “TW” back in Regina.

Wishing you the best day and all things wonderful for this year and all the years to come.

**************************************************

YAY, it is Friday.

Yesterday with this change in weather again ….. more ice.

So yesterday morning I left the house a few minutes early so that I could take my time walking to the bus stop.

I found that the sidewalks were too icy as I almost wiped out just across the street from my house so I walked on the streets where I could.

On the walkway I had to walk on the border to the sidewalk which in summer is grass and in winter is SNOW.

Thank goodness it was only about 8 inches deep but I still managed to get snow in my boots and my pants were wet on the bottom when the boots came off at work.

ARGH.

Oh, the best part.

After most carefully walking and managing to remain upright ….. just as I was approaching the street the BUS whizzed past.

Of course, he did not see me.

Of course not.

Really, I thought.

I was almost there.

ARGH.

So I thought what is the point in getting upset so I just patiently waited for the next one to arrive knowing that I would not be late for work.

I catch the bus that I do, so that I have extra time (you never know).

After a waiting for about ten minutes a silver SUV came around the corner and stopped at the bus stop.

Now it was kind of dark so could not see inside until she turned down window and I saw my neighbour ….. so ended up getting a ride to work and being almost 1/2 hour earlier than usual.

So it worked out.

This morning I called my neighbour to see if I could catch a ride with her so that I do not have to go through that again knowing it is even more icy today than yesterday.

Luck of the IRISH, methinks.

I found a SHAMROCK charm and placed it on a silver chain that I have ……. along with a green and silver necklace and green sweater I am all set for St. Paddy’s Day.

I think that Mr. Alvin is feeling bad that he does not have anything green to wear.

Maybe tonight I can find something for him……

Guess I will have to buy him a green sweater for next year.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day to my IRISH Family and Friends all over the world.

Special Hello to: my friend T. W. ….. today is your birthday …… WOW, what a great day to celebrate.

Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Wednesday the 2nd day of September, 2015.

It rained a wee bit overnight as the deck has wet splotches here and there.

You can begin to feel the difference in the air that September brings.

It is not so much cold as cool and crisp.

It smells fresh.

You definitely need a wee jacket in the morning while waiting for the bus.

Most especially if there be wind.

I feel the Scots part of me coming out this morning.

Likely soon to be followed by the Irish and English.

What a lovely combination.

Well here it is mid week.

Work has been going well …. busy but that is nothing new.

Somedays I wish that I could be completely caught up when I leave at night.

But alas not likely ….. nature of the beast so to speak.

I am excited we are down to three sleeps before my girl friend arrives from Regina.

I have been patiently waiting since she confirmed her plane ticket.

It will be nice to sip coffee and catch up.

I am also excited to see the photos of her newest grand-baby.

YAY ….. baby photos ……

I wished that they could bottle the smell of a newborn baby.

Well what is on your plate for this fine morning/day?

Going to work?

Staying at home?

Cleaning the house?

Filing papers?

Going for a walk?

Volunteering some time at a local senior’s home or animal shelter?

Cleaning out your closet and bringing your fall/winter clothes to the front?

Lots to do.

Cleaning the yard?

There is always something to do if you wish to do it.

Always start with a list ….. makes life so much easier.

Write down what you have to do ….. even a bit of a timeline if you wish….

Check items off as they are completed.

Trust me you will have such satisfaction when you check an item as done.

YAY ……

I do it all of the time.

Plus, you do not forget anything.

Well here it is time to leave once again.

Happy Wednesday folks.

ENjoy.

Special Hello to: my friend “P” see you soon….

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day…..

Good Morning and Welcome to Tuesday the 17th day of March, 2015.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day to everyone.

My family and friends all over the world, Happy St. Pat’s Day.

We are having a potluck lunch at work today and we can also wear sports jerseys and anything green.

Just so happens that I have a Saskatchewan Roughrider (football) jersey which is both.

YAY, me….

Also to top off the celebration my friend “G” is coming over coffee after her “bootcamp” (exercise class).

I am so excited.

I have not seen her in what feels like forever.

YAY …. I am so lucky and feeling really blessed right now.

If you remember I mentioned picking up what they call “pet steps” so that when Alvin and the puppies want to get onto the bed they don’t have to jump so high.

Well Mr. Alvin will have nothing of it.

So I shall leave the steps by the bed and see if perhaps over the course of a few days he will gradually get used to them.

Stubborn boy that one.

Well life is good …. great, in fact.

I hope that it is in your home as well.

Spread the kindness.

Spread the joy.

Spread the laughter.

Always laugh …. giggle ….. feel it right down to the bottom of your belly.

Have a great green day.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day.

Special Hello to: everyone … I would like to yell from the rooftops “HELLO”

Always, Carol and Alvin
