Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Thursday the 10th day of September, 2015.

Dark outside …. I believe that I am starting to adjust to the darkness.

It starts to get light around 7:00 a.m. but wait it will be later as we approach the shortest day later in the year.

Oh, the fun of it all.

On the flip side the leaves are beginning to change colour as they prepare for winter.

I love the colours all mixes of yellows, oranges, red and browns.

So happy that my flowers are doing well and should be another couple of weeks or more.

All depends on Mr. Jack Frost.

I believe that you know this character.

He likes to make an appearance sometime usually in September …. maybe he will wait until October this year.

I sure would appreciate it …. if he is listening…. fingers crossed.

The air even smells different.

Oh and guess what has decided to make an appearance last night.

We found them on our walk ….. MOSQUITOES….. yup a bit of rain and they are here.

With the next few days warming up ….. yikes.

We were so lucky that they were few and far between this summer.

Well here we go again …. time to leave for work.

Supposed to be around 20 C today, jacket or no jacket that is the question.

Might need it now but will not need it later.

Maybe I will just bite the straw and not wear one.

Live dangerously.

Okay … gotta go.

I hope that you have a crazy WONDERFUL Thursday.

Is it almost the weekend again….. YES.

Special Hello to: all those folks who take the time to read my blog … thank you.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Wednesday the 2nd day of September, 2015.

It rained a wee bit overnight as the deck has wet splotches here and there.

You can begin to feel the difference in the air that September brings.

It is not so much cold as cool and crisp.

It smells fresh.

You definitely need a wee jacket in the morning while waiting for the bus.

Most especially if there be wind.

I feel the Scots part of me coming out this morning.

Likely soon to be followed by the Irish and English.

What a lovely combination.

Well here it is mid week.

Work has been going well …. busy but that is nothing new.

Somedays I wish that I could be completely caught up when I leave at night.

But alas not likely ….. nature of the beast so to speak.

I am excited we are down to three sleeps before my girl friend arrives from Regina.

I have been patiently waiting since she confirmed her plane ticket.

It will be nice to sip coffee and catch up.

I am also excited to see the photos of her newest grand-baby.

YAY ….. baby photos ……

I wished that they could bottle the smell of a newborn baby.

Well what is on your plate for this fine morning/day?

Going to work?

Staying at home?

Cleaning the house?

Filing papers?

Going for a walk?

Volunteering some time at a local senior’s home or animal shelter?

Cleaning out your closet and bringing your fall/winter clothes to the front?

Lots to do.

Cleaning the yard?

There is always something to do if you wish to do it.

Always start with a list ….. makes life so much easier.

Write down what you have to do ….. even a bit of a timeline if you wish….

Check items off as they are completed.

Trust me you will have such satisfaction when you check an item as done.

YAY ……

I do it all of the time.

Plus, you do not forget anything.

Well here it is time to leave once again.

Happy Wednesday folks.

ENjoy.

Special Hello to: my friend “P” see you soon….

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day…..

Good Morning and Welcome to Thursday the 14th day of May, 2015.

Well the sun is coming up ….. still a bit on the cool side in the mornings.

I still am wearing a jacket for my walk to the bus stop.

Maybe in a week or so ….. a sweater will do.

This morning I went to retrieve a voicemail message on my home telephone.

The old fashion touch tone portable phone …. I do not have a cell phone yet.

There is static on the other end.

Guess time for new phones.

They sure do not make things like they used to ….. everything is disposable.

Why oh why.

I do know the answer, but really I would love for manufacturers to have love for their products and make with integrity and quality.

It is so disappointing when items do not last.

I remember a deep freezer that my grandparents had on the farm.

It was there when I was a child, and it was moved from the farm to town.

I figured why it was about 30 or so years old.

Stoves and fridges used to last for 25 years or so.

One would tire of them long before they broke down and then most times they could be repaired.

Can you imagine house hold appliances and gadgets lasting that long?

Or at least make things to be repaired and not throw away.

Okay, I have had my little “rant” for the day.

Just disappointed …. I am not mad or sad …. just disappointed.

Well almost time to get back downstairs, grab my lunch and jacket (will need shoes, too) and snuggle with Mr. Alvin for a few minutes before heading off to work.

YAY, tomorrow is my day off and I am so excited.

Have a great great day everyone.

Special Hello to: all those people who take the time to read my blog, I so appreciate it.

Thought for the day…..

Good Morning and Welcome to Sunday the 12th day of October, 2014.

It has been almost one week since my last blog.

Tragedy struck our family this past Monday morning when one of my nephews was involved in a single vehicle accident.

He was flown from a rural area in Alberta by STARS (helicopter) to one of the hospitals here in Edmonton.

Suffering a moderate to severe brain injury;  he has been in a coma since the accident.

With all of the fractures throughout his body he miraculously remains in stable condition, and Doctors say they will heal over time.

We thank everyone who has taken the time to come and visit and offer their support to my nephew and our family.

At this point they are concerned about pneumonia and flu season.

So we hope that people will use common sense and not come to visit with a cold or flu.

I am grateful to the medical staff as they have been great.

He has someone with him 24/7 which is a relief.

I was there everyday but had to take yesterday and today to do some things around the house, and today to work at the store.

I did not realize how exhausting it would be.

But it will be a long time until he leaves a medical facility.

So we will just take one day at a time.

I am so grateful for this beautiful weather, the sun is shining and one does not even require a jacket.

I am so grateful to be alive so that I may offer my assistance whenever/wherever needed.

I am grateful to be in good health and to have a beautiful home surrounded by those I love.

It is times like these that we stop and think about our own lives.

How truly blessed we are …..

Little things do not matter.

Special Hello to: all the hearts that are enveloping my nephew with good energy and love, thank you.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day…..

Good Morning and Welcome to Thursday, December 27th, 2012 ……

Well back to work today.

The office will be quiet today and tomorrow as most people are off for these days.

Alvin is going to stay with his sister and the puppies today.

So she will have a huge pack today …. four puppies……

Well I am running late so just wanted to say hello to you and wish you a great Thursday.

I hope that the sun shines wherever you are, and that smiles and laughter follow you throughout your day.

Have a great Thursday.

Thank you for reading my blog.

Special Hello to: all my great friends new and old ……. you rock.

Always, Carol and Alvin (who does not suspect a thing …..  perhaps this morning when I go to put his jacket on …. he won’t run under the table.  LOL
