Second Half of the NEW YEAR – last quarter

Good Morning All. How are you doing on this fine Wednesday? I am doing great. The Steeped Tea or Sipology order arrived perfectly yesterday. Two friends have already come and picked up their orders. I am so grateful that we were able to have a COVID 19 visit meeting the protocols. Masks and social distancing. Today another gal is coming to pick up hers and I am delivering one to another friend who lives close by. The delivery arrived in time for me and Alvin to head out for a walk during my lunch break. The wind was a bit cool but otherwise divine. Good old fashioned “fresh air” can be so uplifting.

Mid week. I always like mid week. Wednesday is the date that my daughter was born. I even had the pleasure of choosing her actual birthdate. Something not maybe Moms are able to do. She was born by c-section so it was a planned “event.” As she grew up I soon realized that perhaps I should have chosen a couple of days later due to paydays but who knew that was ever going to be a thing. Anyway we, she, me all survived to tell the tale. Life is always what you make it. I am once again reading some books by Mike Dooley. THE UNIVERSE guru. I so enjoy reading his books as he gives us a different perspective on living our lives. Always good to learn new things and then reread books to remind us, just in case a Pandemic has hit and all good and common sense has gone out the window. Because clearly in some cases, this has happened. Always be mindful of what you can do not only for yourself but for others. Our THOUGHTS DO BECOME THINGS. Those things drive your life. “think about it.” If you are continually thinking I am tired – you will be tired. If you are always thinking no one likes me or I am no good or I am unlucky – then you will be all of those things. Experiment, if you don’t think this could be true. Also I am quite certain that in 2020 you have heard of a “little known book” called THE SECRET. Just try – what do you have to lose, nothing. You can even take the book out of the library if you do not have access or the means to a copy.

Well almost time for me to head on back downstairs. This 1.5 hours or so in the morning (sometimes shorter) always seems to evaporate. Most especially when I sit down to write. The words seem to pour out of me some days and then it is time to go to work.

I wish you good health, that you are safe, that you are kind and respectful to yourself and to all others. It is the only way to live your life.

As Always, Carol & Alvin

P.S. one of these days I am going to surprise you with some new photos and likely myself as well.

Second Half of the NEW YEAR.

Good Morning and Welcome to a bright and SUNNY Monday.

YAY, so happy to see the sunshine.

Even though it was semi difficult to get up and stay up.

But I believe for most folks Mondays are just like that ….

Sometimes we cannot sleep on a Sunday night for one reason or another.

Well we are up and at it.

After this post I will be going to work.

I must say that I am loving working from home.

As mentioned before there were moments in the beginning where I thought this is not going to work.

But as time has passed it has been a godsend.

Able to be at home with Alvin when he needed me most.

To be here everyday with him has been wonderful.

Having that extra 1.5 hours extra time at home instead of driving has been priceless.

I love being at home.

Of course, I do miss the people.

Wonder what I was doing on this date last year.

Hello,

Sometimes, actually most times a photo is worth a thousand words.

I cannot think of a better way of spending time than walking about a beautiful yard snapping photos.

We visited our friend yesterday morning on our early morning walk.

She has the most glorious flowers.

The first two rows of photos are the flowers that line the entrance to our park and some taken as we passed the water fountain.

Da-da ….. so pretty.

These last photos were on our walk home.

Alvin needs to me to take him downstairs.

Have a wonderful Monday.

Be kind and respectful to yourself and to others.

Always, Carol & Alvin

Living … One day at a time.

Hello, my fellow Canadians.

HAPPY CANADA DAY.

What a glorious bright, sunny, breezy Monday morning.

I am so grateful to have this day off from work and to be at home with “me Alvin.”

He is resting beside me on his blue blanket as I key these words on the keyboard.

We have so much to be grateful for in this country.

The list is long but what I am most grateful for are the following:

  • peace
  • freedom
  • clean fresh water
  • beauty of our country from coast to coast

A day to celebrate the peace that we are honoured to live within our borders.

A day to celebrate the grand beauty of this amazing country.

A day to celebrate the freedoms that we enjoy on a daily basis.

A day to be grateful for the clean water that is easily accessible.

A day to celebrate each other.

Happy Canada Day to all my family and friends.

Happy Canada Day to all CANADIANS.

***************************************

Yesterday Alvin and Teddy and I just spent a quiet day together.

We went for a walk.

We played.

We had treats.

We even had a nap.

It was a great day.

I did manage to get out for groceries and to see my girl for a visit.

So I guess today that means that I need to get to work.

Well there will always be things to do when you are the only “person” in the household that can clean the house, mow the grass, pull the weeds, cook etc.

But that is okay.

One good reason to keep things clean as you go.

Then it is only light cleaning.

That is my mantra.

Keep things clean as you go.

Put things away …..

Okay, time for breakfast and coffee.

Perhaps even two walks today if the weather holds.

That would be lovely.

Great way to spend Canada Day.

Happy Happy Canada Day.

Be kind and respectful as you continue on your day.

Always, Carol & Alvin

My flowers on the deck from my first summer in Edmonton

2009

I can tell as there is grass peeking out from the end of the deck.

Cannot believe it has been ten years since I moved here.

Living … One day at a time.

Hello,

Sure is great to wake up to SUNNY SKIES.

Quite the change from the past few days …. going on a week.

There is rain in our future according to the weather channel.

Only time will tell.

Well folks guess what?

When I signed into iPhoto on the computer to download the photos that I took this morning; lo and behold there were the photos from Thursday.

The ones that I wanted to show you yesterday morning.

The first ones are of the plant pots outside my work office.

The plant pots are gigantic.

Possibly the largest ones that I have ever seen.

I love the flowers and am going to track down the names.

Followed by photos from Friday morning in the rain.

This morning Sunshine ……

Well Mr. Alvin has just thrown up and I got things cleaned up and managed to get him into the office where the floor is laminate and easier to clean.

Poor boy.

Likely due in part to something he ate last night and because he hasn’t eaten breakfast yet.

His food bowl is out but he doesn’t like to eat before me.

Not sure why.

He appears to be okay now.

Alvin has his regular Vet appointment in just over one hour.

So time to get this show on the road.

COFFEE and food for the boy.

So happy to see the bright blue sky this morning.

The grass and plants are a brilliant green and the TREES.

Last night after work my daughter and I picked up a shower gift for one of her friends followed by a trip to IKEA.

I picked up a few smaller plant pots, couple of clips to hang things with and some serviettes.

The shower gift was handmade by one of the gals at the ART SHOW last weekend.

Home a bit later but my neighbour watched over Mr. Alvin.

We had time to walk before another patch of rain set in.

I wish you a great Saturday.

Catch you tomorrow.

Remember to be kind and respectful.

First to yourself and then to others.

If you are good to yourself it is shown to others.

Always, Carol & Alvin
