Second Half of the NEW YEAR.

Good Tuesday Morning,

Another night without Alvin.

I know he is okay with the kids but I miss him.

It is good for us to be apart once in awhile.

We will appreciate each other all the more upon his return on Sunday.

Through some conversations and reflections, I believe that I have been causing Alvin anxiety since I have been home.

So I am going to try my very best not to let my job get under my skin.

I think that likely a lot of us are feeling this way now.

No matter if you like or love or don’t fancy your job …. we are all experiencing some form of stress or anxiety now.

I will say that our in person team meeting last Thursday helped us all.

We or most of us LOVE working from home and I would like to remain working from home until I retire.

So whatever I can do to make this be a positive experience for both me and Alvin, I am going to do.

My daughter stopped by yesterday on my lunch break to pick up the groceries that “we” forgot to pack into the car after the birthday party on Saturday.

She says that Alvin sleeps through the night until they get up in the morning and he has been doing great.

This is good for both of us.

Although I have never minded being alone …. I will say that the house is empty without the boy.

He is a force that is for sure.

Tuesday already and I have some things that I wanted to do this week so I guess I had better get the show on the road.

Tonight my girl friends are coming over and we are going to work on our “diamond paintings.”

It will nice to have them over.

I have some yard work to do.

When I opened the blinds in our bedroom this morning I saw that the sidewalks were wet.

I was not expecting rain.

The patio furniture still has the cushions out as I had not put them away.

Oh well.

I left the kitchen window open.

Luckily it was not a hard rain or coming in on an angle.

A nice rain is okay for us in the city but I hope that the farmers did not have rain as they are right in the midst of harvest.

My brother that lives in the country has been helping out some farmers with their combining.

So I hope it did not rain out there.

I was watching the weather channel last night before bed – trying to see what Saturday’s weather will be for the wedding.

They always switch it to something so I did not have the patience to wait.

I also noticed that yesterday in weather history ….. parts of Alberta had huge amounts of ….. should I say the word ….perhaps not.

Starts with a S and ends with a W and is four letters in total.

I am going to check my blog from last year and see if we had any??

Don’t remember.

That is the beauty of being Canadian we seldom remember the weather from year to end.

Well it is almost time to head on downstairs and have my first cup of coffee and perhaps start work a few minutes early.

Get organized.

I wish you an awesome day.

The sky out the office window kind of looks overcast so maybe this will be a rainy day.

I hope that the skies are clear on all the farms.

Live your life with kindness and respect.

Help when you are able and always do your best.

Living my life with kindness and respect.

As Always, Carol & Alvin

P.S. last year it was sunny and warm, Edmonton did not have the S–W that other areas of Alberta experienced.

Also I had put all of my patio furniture away and was cleaning up the flower pots already in preparation for winter.

Living … One day at a time.

Hello,

Well it is not cold temperature wise outside with clouds and patches of lightness filling the sky.

Our friend Teddy has been here since Thursday night.

Last night after work, I got all three of us ready for a walk.

Just after we left the house the sky got incredibly dark and it wasn’t long into the walk when there was thunder.

I figured likely better to just go to the park and then back home.

We got as far as the park entrance and the poop bag station.

Where I grabbed a few bags as I am still short on them.

My carpool picked some up for me but forgot to bring them.

Back to the story.

Grabbed the bags and turned around to come home just when there were a few drops.

We continued our regular pace.

We were about 3/4 of the way home when we met up with a friend walking her dog named Bear so you can only guess how large he is….

Alvin is used to him and Bear to him but Teddy started to bark.

Then the rain started to come down … we said quick hellos and our friend quickly mentioned that they had been caught in the rain four times prior to this time.

We did get some wet but got inside the door just when the heavens opened.

Whew.

It was just before I reached the front porch that I saw the downspout section had come loose and was lying on the ground between the houses.

So after taking the harnesses and leashed off the boys; I ran outside in that “downpour” to fix the downspout.

YAY, me, did it and back into the house.

The rain happened off and on for several hours.

Our walk was short but good.

Perhaps today we will get in a regular one.

I have another cute story.

While waiting for my ride yesterday morning; I thought that I could see eyes watching me.

Not human eyes.

Eyes from my front flower bed.

Well between the brightness of the morning sun and the now tall plants; it was hard to see.

I did not wish to scare what was in the floor bed … so from where I was standing on the front sidewalk I took my phone out of my purse and snapped a few photos.

Then I slowly walked to the sidewalk going up to my house ….  easily and slowly I walked a bit toward the lawn and snapped a couple more.

It was then that I realized that it was a …….

Wait for it ……

Ah …..

Cute bunny ….

I tried to zoom …..

The bunny was gone when I got home from work.

And the bunny did not eat any of my plants.

That was nice.

Perhaps not something good for their palate.

Well I have to get the show on the road.

Slept in …. after being up at 3:00 a.m.

Also noticed as going to make the bed ….. there was a “yellow stain.”

ARGH, pretty sure it was not there yesterday.

Thankfully I have good stain removal stuff and that I have a “moisture barrier cover” directly on the mattress and then a cover that gives some softness and then sheets etc.

So thankfully no damage done to the mattress.

Cannot believe I did not smell it or notice it before …. cannot lay the blame on one of the boys or the other.

Only thing that I know for sure … is that it was not me.

Oh, well, accidents happen.

No harm no foul.

It is fixed …. sprayed everything with the pet stain remover and now after this post …. down to the laundry.

I was going to wash the bedding anyway …. the second layer cover … I would not have but it needs to be refreshed anyway.

Moisture cover did the trick.

Highly recommend it to everyone.

Saves buying a new mattress.

Kind of a yucky story but stuff happens.

Not the end of the world.

I love the boys and although I will admit at first I was a bit “miffed.”

I did not yell or anything at Alvin or Teddy.

To end this post, some photos of my back yard and flowers.

I took these photos from inside the house through my big kitchen window.

I love my back garden …. the purple flowers are incredible.

They all are doing so well with the moisture.

Thank you for the rain, Mother Nature.

Have an awesome Saturday.

I need to change into some clothes.

PUT ON THE COFFEE.

Shortly will be going to pick up Mr. Humphrey.

Then will be me and the boys.

The THREE AMIGOS.

Should be fun.

Have to remember to change the batteries on this keyboard.

Oh, what a life.

It is a good life.

No complaints.

Thank you for reading this post and my blog.

I appreciate your time.

Always, Carol, Alvin and Teddy …..

Thought for the day…..

Good Morning and Welcome to Tuesday the 17th day of June, 2014.

It is slightly overcast here in Edmonton but quite mild.

I am excited because I took a day of vacation next Monday and will have an extra long weekend.

This is my last “Friday” off as we are changing our scheduling at the office.

So to have an extra long weekend is awesome.

To be grateful for all that you have on an ongoing basis is so important.

You never know when it could disappear.

Every morning when I look out the back door / kitchen window / office window – I see gorgeous flowers that are filling up and out.

So pretty.

Last night when Alvin and I went for a walk by our park we noticed that all of the “wild roses” are budding.

One of the roses decided to give us a sneak peek at it’s gloriousness …. by unfurling a few petals.

OMG, so beautiful.

I could just imagine all of the pink flowers and their glorious fragrance.

Soon it shall be our reality.

Time to go …..

I hope that you use your imagination and that you all have a wonderful reality.

Special Hello to: lovers of roses ….. mmmmm

Always, Carol and Alvin
