Living … One day at a time

Hello,

Good Morning.

Raining outside.

Shout out this morning …. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY DEAR SON-IN-LAW.

I am so grateful that he came into our life almost 2 decades ago.

He is smart and funny.

Warm-hearted and the best son-in-law and brother-in-law to Alvin.

Wishing you a great day my boy.

We love you very much.

Wishing only the best in the year(s) ahead.

Yesterday morning I snapped these photos of my tree as I was waiting for my carpool.

Bear in mind that it was dark outside.

The leaves are turning but still a great many are green.

The lawn is covered with crunchy gold leaves.

Last night we had a GREAT walk.

We stopped and visited with our friend who was out in her garden.

Winterizing.

After our visit there we continued walking until we reached Alvin’s BF’s house.

This time I said let’s go and visit.

We walked up …. rather Alvin flew up the steps.

I said as I was going to ring the doorbell …. Alvin why don’t you bark and announce yourself ….. he did.

I was surprised.

I could hear Teddy recognizing who was at the door.

So inside we had a nice chat and visit.

Alvin had some treats.

He is terribly spoiled.

After leaving there we continued on our way home.

We stopped to visit with some new friends.

There was a one year pup named —, oh dear I have forgotten her name ……. she was really well trained.

This pup was a lab and oh how smart they are.

The other was a three year old Basset Hound named FLOUNDER.

Alvin did really well with them as they are bigger.

After watching the Lab pup and Flounder the b hound play we headed home.

Lots of visiting going on.

Then when we were home we saw Humphrey outside.

Chatted with my neighbor for a bit and then Humphrey came to stay with us for a bit.

We were walking into the house and he was on his leash and walked up the steps.

He wanted to come in.

So I yelled back to his Mom that he was with us.

After that I quickly cleaned the front flower bed.

Trimming back the flowers.

Putting the cut stems/leaves into a blue bag and into the garage.

Also decided to clean up part of the deck …. put away a few items.

I put my flowers in the garage as I was worried it may freeze.

They are doing so well.

If we get some sunshine, I will put them back out.

Well time to fly here.

We are busy.

Happy Birthday to all those folks celebrating today.

If we treat ourselves with kindness and respect it comes naturally to treat others the same.

Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day ….Go

Good Morning and Welcome to Friday the 24th day of August, 2018.

Well it rained at some point overnight as the deck is damp in places.

I did not hear a thing.

In fact this morning we all slept until the alarm went off.

Cutest thing.

When I woke up earlier to hit the little girl’s room (yup, just a tinkle).

I saw Alvin laying beside Teddy in the bottom quadrant of the bed.

We were all sleeping on less than half of the bed.

Some reason the other half is not calling our names …..

The boys are doing well with their multi day sleepover.

I was pleased to arrive home last night and find them both happy to see me.

The house was intact so that was good.

Not that I had any reason to think otherwise.

Sometimes when the boys get together …. strange things happen??

I am grateful that today is Friday.

Yesterday was an off off day for me.

Perhaps the weather guy was right …. smoke does affect our minds ….

Both the pups are not in the office.

When I went to come into the office …. Teddy bolted for downstairs.

Alvin was in here with me on his blanket.

He is always watching to see what Teddy is doing.

I am so grateful that Mr. Alvin has Master Teddy here to keep him company and to play with.

They do play a bit.

Mostly tug of war ….. with either Alvin’s new stuffie from his sister’s house OR Teddy’s stuffie for bedtime.

They are cute and have been listening pretty good.

Alvin continues to eat Teddy’s food and Teddy continues to eat Alvin’s food.

Although this morning when Alvin went outside I quickly gave Teddy’s bowl of food to him and he did eat some.

So clearly he may feel just a tad I won’t say threatened but perhaps anxious about Alvin and his food.

Teddy is barking now.

So time to go and check the little guy.

I hope that you all have a great day.

So happy it is Friday.

Special Hello to: my friends and family.

Always, Carol & Alvin

PS my neighbour is looking after a doggie named LUNA who is a big girl.  Part Lab I think.  She is now outside barking and of course, the boys inside are both barking.  Gotta go.

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Monday the 19th day of March, 2018.

One more day until it is officially SPRING.

YAY.

The snow has stopped falling.

Thank goodness.

Well this weekend was truly all about the animals.

I spent a good amount of time keeping HUMPHREY the cat, company.

He is such a sweetie.

Cuddly.

I loved that he places his paw on your leg when he wants more “snuggles.”

Smart cat.

I also had the great pleasure of meeting two doggies.

Both very much pups.

One six months and the other I think was 1.5 years old.

The six month old is named LUNA and she is a pure-bred Lab.

The 1.5 year old is named ZEUS and he is a husky with the most beautiful blue eyes.

LUNA is just learning and ZEUS already knows.

I was helping my neighbour has she has been looking after the two pups along with a cat named INUBUS (not quite sure of the spelling).

The cat is older than the dogs and he is black.

I have met him before and have actually helped look after him.

LUNA likes to jump up and is full of energy.

ZEUS knows not to jump up but is too is full of energy but he listens well.

We had to go in the truck and my neighbour asked for my help.

LUNA does not enjoy a car ride but ZEUS would ride for hours and love it.

Beautiful boys and girl.

So when I arrived back home – Mr. Alvin came to greet me at the door.

He sniffed and sniffed and sniffed.

He knew that I had been “temporarily unfaithful” at least in his eyes.

Two that he did not know.

LUNA and ZEUS were out in my neighbour’s back yard here and there last night and he knew it.

I would said that he is definitely a jealous guy.

I just gave him extra snuggles and tried to build his confidence back up.

Well here we go again – time to go and catch the bus for work.

I hope that you had an awesome weekend.

Have a great Monday.

Special Hello to: all those people who have fur babies ….

Always, Carol & Alvin
