Thought for the day ….

Good Morning and Welcome to Thursday the 12th day of July, 2018.

Wishing a dear friend Happy Birthday today.

She has always been like a second Mom to me.

Warm, funny, kind and generous.

She is a great, great lady.

Happy Birthday “Mom.”

Beautiful morning.

We have the windows opened and the furnace fan on and the house is cooling down.

I love the sky in the morning.

Especially when there are big white billowy clouds framing the blueness.

Perfection.

Alvin asked for a massage again this morning.

He stands besides me and puts his paw up which is his “asking nicely, asking politely” for something.

He just stood there enjoying the moments in pure bliss.

I could tell that he was enjoying the massage.

So happy to help him out.

Yesterday after work and into the evening still so warm for us so we opted out of the walk.

Somedays only one walk.

I had wanted to go this morning but could not get my self in gear as for some reason I was up and down all night.

Likely just the heat.

Not worried about anything.

My friend dropped off the boards for the fence last night.

They have to dry for a couple of weeks before I put them up.

The I will likely be “we” as I will need help.

I am thinking that perhaps we could go now for a short walk to the park.

Another fairly warm one on the way but is supposed to cool down for Friday and Saturday.

I hope that you are having a great day.

Enjoying the summer, I hope.

Hearing doggies outside barking as the neighbour wakes up.

Special Hello to: my family and friends …..

Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day ….

Good Morning and Welcome to Friday the 26th day of August, 2016.

Yes, Alvin it really is Friday.

I am sure by now most people are wondering if it really is true.

I was so certain that Wednesday was Thursday so added an extra day to my week.

Maybe not physically but mentally.

After all it is the mental condition that drives everything.

How you feel, if you can feel, what to do or not to do, to be or not to be.

Yes, of course physicality plays a role but the old adage “mind over matter,” holds true forever.

Until we evolve into something totally different it will always be mental over physical.

It is the way that people get through horrible physical tragedy.

Okay perhaps this is getting just a tad serious and it started out just talking about it being Friday.

Man, can I ever stray from the path.

I am always happy for the weekends but not because I do not like my job but because I get to spend more time with Alvin.

He is my sunshine for sure.

Not to leave out my amazing daughter or my great son-in-law or my grand-puppy Elton they are my never ending rainbow.

Speaking of rainbows last night when we were out for a walk we bumped into a lady walking with her dog.

We found out in about ten seconds his name was Noah and he was cute.

An older boy ….. the boys got along ….. Alvin and Noah…..there were a few barks ….. lots of sniffing.

The lady was smitten with Alvin.

She thought he was the cutest …… so I made sure that I gave Noah lots of compliments, fair is fair.

Well we continued to chat and walk.

We ended up walking in the rain …. just a nice rain not downpour.

A rainbow came out.

We both remarked.

After we parted ways and on our direct path to our house we saw the beginning and ending of the rainbow it was crystal clear.

The first one that I have seen all summer that I saw the start and end.

So beautiful..

Oh, I hear the geese honking away.

Well Mr. Alvin needs to go outside and I need to grab my Quinoa salad that I made for our office potluck.

I hope that you have an amazing day.

Happy Friday.

Special Hello to: all my family and friends, you rock.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day ……

Good Morning and Welcome to Wednesday the 3rd day of February, 2016.

Yesterday afternoon when I left work was a surprise weather wise.

I had half expected it to be on the cooler side but much to my surprise it was actually quite nice.

When the bus pulled up it was quite the show.

It was literally packed right to the front …… one of the passengers I knew had this big grin on her face.

When the driver (my favourite) opened the door everyone was laughing as it was so full.

I said “Room for one on the bike rack.”

Everyone giggled at that…..

Always nice to be laughing …..

But he said come on and they managed to let us on …. somehow.

Although I will say that I got to know a young man quite well.

I had to hold onto his arm when we turned corners and stuff.

Likely not too great on the liability front ….. safety issues and all.

But he got us to the mall where the bus quickly emptied.

There was one lady standing facing out the windshield.  (she is my friend)

I had my back to hers …. then there was a man behind me and a woman right up beside the driver and the young man by me.

There were five or six of us in that entrance way of the bus … on the other side of the YELLOW line.

It was so hot on the bus ….. I wore my long coat and had my big scar wrapped about my neck and I thought I was going to pass out.

Thank goodness for good conversation it did not seem like a 20 minute or so ride.

Well I somehow managed to take longer getting ready this morning ….. not sure what happened.

Mr. Alvin needs to go out before I leave for work.

I hope that you get a kick out of my little bus story.

Special Hello to: my fellow bloggers …. keep up the great work.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day ……

Good Morning and Welcome to Wednesday the 29th day of July, 2015.

Third last day of July, 2015 ….. so excited for August.

The sun is shining so brightly ….. there is a breeze ….. it is wonderful.

I am so grateful to be here now.

I am in the perfect place at the perfect time.

Yesterday while I was at work one of my friends who was on her last day of vacation came to the house.

She gave Alvin a treat …. let him outside ….. then took him for a nice long walk.

We are so blessed to have “S” as our friend and neighbour.

We are surrounded by great people and I am eternally grateful.

Well it is almost time to get downstairs and grab my lunch and umbrella (just in case) and head to the bus.

I treasure these mornings as they are perfect weather wise.

The roses that line the walk way are perfection and the fragrance should be bottled.

Oh what a lucky lady / woman I am.

Only two more sleeps till the big SIBLING weekend ….

I wish you so much joy this day.

May your day be filled with laughter.

May your day be filled with love.

May you have the perfect day.

Special Hello to: all the siblings out there ….. get together ….. you are special to each other.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day…..

Good Morning and Welcome to Sunday the 13th day of July, 2014.

It is a bright sunny very warm morning here in Edmonton with a slight breeze.

Yesterday was hot, hot, hot.

I hosted a garage sale with the main theme being “GIVE THINGS AWAY.”

The first lady that came could not get it that most things were free and insisted on paying for one of the items.

So that was nice.

Before too long …. everyone warmed up to the idea.

Even the few items that I wanted to sell ….. people wanted to haggle on the prices.

Even when you start low …..  and even considering they took lots for free.

But at the end of the day I was so happy to have made some money and most of the things are gone.

So that is very good.

But people never cease to amaze me.

I am grateful to my daughter and friends for helping and keeping me company.

My daughter is the best on the planet.

It was a very successful Saturday.

I managed to get groceries and do laundry and have a garage sale.

So whenever you want some excitement have a garage sale and I would suggest that you give lots of things away.

People do like free.

My daughter and I both had great things in the sale.

Time to go and have some coffee and get things ready for a lady to pick up in a few minutes.

Working at the store for a later shorter shift.

Have a great and blessed Sunday.

I am so grateful that on this garage sale I actually made a few doors.

My basement looks empty …..

Special Hello to:  my sister ….. soon ……

Always, Carol and Alvin
