Second Half of the NEW YEAR

Good Morning ALL,

The sky is a brilliant blue and the sun is shining brightly.

I just looked out my bedroom window to see three children likely on their way to school.

They had winter jackets on with their hoods up…..

Wait till winter hits …..

I was outside in the backyard a little bit ago in my pj’s with Alvin.

I thought it was beautiful.

Just day before yesterday I turned on the heat.

Yesterday I turned off the heat.

That time of year.

Now for the next three days we are to have warm temperatures.

I think that today is to be 25 degrees celsius.

You are likely wondering why I am writing so late …. when I should be at work.

Well today is one of the two times per month that I am required to work the late shift.

We work from 11 am to 7 pm and then from 4 pm to 7 pm we work the after hours phone line.

I am not sure that it is necessary but the higher ups do and they make the decisions.

For me and my coworkers it just takes us away from our already busy jobs.

We are down two staff now so that work is divided between us.

Never a dull moment for sure.

I like to be busy that most times this job is insanely busy.

But I do not want to complain as I am most grateful to be employed, most especially now.

Also working from home has truly been a blessing.

I am sure that things will work themselves out.

Just have to take a breath and take one day at a time.

Alvin’s food was getting low so I thought that I would run over to the vet and pick up food this morning.

Then I thought no, he has enough and I can run over their tomorrow at lunchtime.

Instead of going this morning – we can go for a walk.

Tomorrow at noon might be too warm for us to walk anyway.

It will work out.

I can hear the hum of the traffic on the highway that surrounds the city.

So loud with the window open.

I was thinking that might as well have some cool fresh air coming into the house before it gets warm.

I put the fans in the basement and might have to bring them back upstairs.

Which reminds me that I must clean and return the fan to my friend down the street as I no longer am in need of it.

I am grateful to have such great neighbours.

Well time to get dressed.

I think go for a walk and then have bite to eat and coffee.

Oh, I even deleted “emails” yesterday …..

Trying to keep on top of things.

How are you doing?

Wishing you a great day.

Living with Kindness and Respect,

I/We shall remain,

As Always, Carol & Alvin

Lilies in the back garden are continuing to bloom.

It is a NEW YEAR.

Welcome to a bright and sun filled Tuesday morning.

Today is my late shift so I do not start until 11:00 a.m. and work till 7:00 p.m.

It is confusing for Mr. Alvin.

We slept in a bit later than usual, actually I would already been working for awhile.

Not much wind this morning.

Once I have my shower and coffee, I think we may head out for a walk before I start work at 11:00 a.m.

Likely a good way to start the day.

Exercise does not hurt.

How are you on this day?

Are you happy or anxious?

Are you sad or just okay?

There are a million of emotions and feelings running rampant through each of us at this time.

I will say for the most part I am reasonably happy.

Happy that I still have a job.

Happy that I have no commute to work.

Happy, and actually OVER the moon that I am able to spend 24/7 with me Alvin.

The boy turned 11 in January so all his time on this earth is precious.

We are “seniors.”

I do not think for the most part that either of us actually feel that way but it is a fact.

Now if we are seniors in our 60’s what happens to us in our 70’s, 80’s, 90’s and beyond.

Really old, super elderly.

At the end of the day as long as we are in good health what does age matter.

Mr. Alvin is whining …. not sure why.

That is always a problem when you have no voice …. no words.

So I have to take a logical guess.

Right now it may have something to do with his chew treat.

But I will keep an eagle eye on him.

Our Vet has reduced hours and no weekends.

I need to check his dew claw once again as it was beginning to get long.

If it gets too long and grows into his paw – not a good thing for sure.

With all of our walks, his nails are keeping shorter so that is good.

He has not done the butt crawl so his anal glands should be okay.

There are signs for everything, almost everything.

Dogs are creatures of habit and love routine.

Much like humans.

Most humans anyway.

No worries friends of Mr. Alvin – I will always keep any eye on him and ensure that he always has proper care.

Well time to hit the shower.

I was also thinking of booking some summer vacation.

We have no idea how long we will be working from home.

We have been given the date of June 30th but that could change.

Personally, I am okay with working from home for part of the summer.

Nice to have longer hours at home.

More time to spend outside.

Now if the weather will comply we would have perfection.

Time will tell.

So Happy Tuesday everyone.

Wishing you sunshine and rainbows.

Joy and good health.

Take care.

With kindness and respect,

I/We remain,

As always, Carol & Alvin

P.S. my friend and his grandson came and looked at the fence yesterday at noon. He will give me a quote and can do the work on a weekend.

Happy dance.  Will be great to have the fence fixed.  He will also cut down the remaining posts from the pergola and change those two boards from the

top of the fence between me and my other neighbour.  Life is good.

It is a NEW YEAR.

Good Morning ALL,

A bright sunny morning.

As you may have noticed I am posting this a bit later than my usual.

That is because today is my shift to work from 11:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Our team shares the after hours phone line from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m.

But today I have been requested to attend a meeting that starts at 10:30 a.m. so I will sign on about 10:15 or perhaps a few minutes sooner.

Just to ensure that I get everything ready.

So this will be a mixed up day.

My first break won’t be until 1:00 and then “lunch” will be at 3:00 p.m. and final break about 5:00 p.m. so that I can feed Alvin.

The Hello Fresh food order is supposed to arrive today but I won’t be making that tonight or else I will be eating way too late.

Also UPS did not deliver my Steeped Tea order yesterday so I will have to look into that and see what happened.

My coffee is perking away and should be ready momentarily for me to enjoy.

Even this one day with different hours reminds me of my time in retail.

Working all sorts of shifts.

It does take some getting used to that is for certain.

I have the office window open a crack and can hear a goose honking.

Perhaps he or she got separated from the flock.

It sounded like a cry of desperation.

I hope the poor goose finds her/his flock.

Not great to be separated from the group for sure.

Yesterday was gorgeous.

We enjoyed another two walks.

One at lunch break and the other after work.

Although I did finish work a bit later than usual.

Last night I snapped some photos of my plants.

I am smitten with my pink geranium.

Actually all of my plants are doing quite well at this time.

The time is getting closer to transplanting the geranium outside.

I will likely place it in the biggest pot that I have …..

One lone goose just flew by …. honking away.

Perhaps the other may have been more than one as the honking was quite substantial.

Well friends time to get this day going.

We were able to sleep in, had breakfast, I had a shower, my post is almost complete -COFFEE TIME.

Hopefully my tea order will arrive today.

The Hello Fresh food order arrives today.

YAY.

In life, if we all practice daily, living with kindness and respect.

We shall manage to live our lives just fine.

There will always be ups and downs.

That is for sure.

Take care.

With kindness and respect to and for all,

I/We remain,

As Always, Carol & Alvin
