Living … One day at a time.

Hello,

Overcast but warm morning.

Last night on our walk after work we just enveloped all that the world had in store for us; not rushing.

We found one of our neighbours who is also a good friend outside in her front yard.

Honestly they have the most wonderful yard …. the grass is the RICHEST of GREENS.

She planted her flowers and the colour gives an extra vibrancy to the space.

Absolutely gorgeous.

We chatted for several minutes.

Alvin just enjoyed the time.

He rolled about in the grass and then sat nicely.

Which is odd.

But appreciated.

After a time we continued on our walk.

As we approached the pond/park we kept our eyes focused for the baby geese; the goslings.

None of the family were to be seen.

Perhaps they were in the tall grass out of sight and interruption from humans and animals alike.

The dandelions are slowly taking over the grass in the park with their brilliant yellow flowers.

I personally like them when they are in flower.

Oh well.

We continued on our way until we reached P’s house.

Her husband called out from the upper deck where he was tending to the grill.

Our friend was down below and came out to meet us.

We went into the yard where I was again taken to another place by another beautiful garden.

P has the most exquisite flowers.

She has a green green thumb.

There were flowers blooming all over her yard.

We chatted and caught on the latest news in our lives.

She is our walking buddy.

Not every night but most.

Well I slept in and it is getting close to time to leave.

I hope that you all have a wonderful day.

Oh, almost forgot we have a family of birds living / nesting in our birdhouse in the back yard.

So excited.

I took photos with my new cell phone but have to figure out how to get them to my computer.

I am certain that it is easy.

Another story for another time.

Keep well.

Enjoying life one day at a time.

Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day…..

Good Morning and Welcome to Monday the 24th day of November, 2014.

One month until Christmas Eve.

I can hardly believe it.

Where has the year gone?

I sure hope that you have had a great year.

Now, most of us have had some bit of bad news or perhaps more than a bit.

But it is up to each of us how the rest of our time is affected by the news.

Some days rising above a hard phone call or remaining positive after being yelled at is not easy to do but that is exactly what you need to do.

We all have those phone calls when the news isn’t great.

We all have those people who just like to threaten.

There are always those who believe they are better than the rest of us.

There are always those people.

But I hope that for the most of this past year that you have had peace and joy in your lives.

So on this Monday let us not be those people ….. be kind …. be respectful and be loving.

Everyone deserve to be treated with respect, kindness and love.

Doesn’t matter if they are family, friends or strangers and this includes every living being ….. our pets …… the birds in the air and the deer in the fields.

Happy Monday Everyone.

Now I am off to work.

Special Hello to: all those folks who still write letters and send Christmas cards, me too.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day …..

WELCOME EVERYONE …… TODAY IS TUESDAY, JANUARY 1st, 2013 ……

Can you believe it?  2013.

It sounds like a line from a futuristic movie or a book.

This morning is absolutely gorgeous here in Edmonton.

Alvin and I were out on the deck for a few minutes while the coffee was brewing.

You know picking up the poop and scraping off the ice from the steps to the garage.

You know typical stuff for a dog owner and for living where there is ice and snow.

I had a great night last night.

We, me and Alvin snuggled on the sofa and watched a couple of movies.

My favourite was a movie from last year called “New Year’s Eve” …… it had so many of my favourite actors.

I called my sister back in Regina (they are one hour ahead of us) at 11:15 p.m. Edmonton time and wished them a Happy New Year.

Watched the ball drop in Times Square, New York City.

As the clock hit midnight ( I joined in the Canadian countdown ), and gave Mr. Alvin a little kiss on his cheek.

I think he figures I am just a tad crazy.  Oh well, that’s what you do when it is just you and the puppy dog..

Just a few minutes after Midnight  my daughter called me (hard to believe we were both still awake) to wish us a Happy New Year.

So here we go again ….. another year……full of brightness and promise…..dreams ready to be realized……hearts ready to fall in love.

I hope that on this first day of the New Year that you are enjoying yourself.

I plan to make a list of all the things that I need/want/wish for …… and post it so that I can see it everyday.

Point me in the right direction and one by one each item on the list will come to fruition…. I will make it happen.

I wish all of my friends and family a great and wonderful New Year, Happy 2013.

I hope that good health, much love and laughter, abundance, wealth and joy paint your path as you go through each day of this New Year.

In fact, I wish this for all of us ….. we all deserve to be healthy, happy and living in abundance.

So let us make it happen.

Happy New Year …… Happy 2013…..

Special Hello: to all my readers for without you I am just a writer of words, and with you I am an author.

Always, Carol and Alvin ….  🙂
