Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Tuesday the 23rd day of February, 2016.

Today is the Birthday of my sister and two of my girl friends.

We wish them all the most wonderful of days.

May this day be filled with love and laughter.

May your year be filled with good health and abundance.

Happy Birthday “C”, “D” and “A” ……

Our weather has been absolutely incredible as of late.

The next few days are to be seeing plus temperatures ….. single digits but that is okay.

Hard to believe that it is February.

The lack of snow is not a good sign for spring and the farmers.

Who knows maybe we will have a wet spring and then it would all work out great.

I do not remember if the groundhogs saw their shadows or not.

Only time can tell.

I just heard a huge sigh from Mr. Alvin as he lays curled up on the small piece of rug under my office chair (it is longer than it is wide so there is room for him at one end).

It is amazing that 99% of the time when I am at home ….. he is right there at my side.

Dogs are such loyal creatures.

I can see where some of them seek out their human friends when they pass on.

So sad as they can not articulate their feelings ……

So for our time together on this plane of existence …… I will continue to treat him with kindness, love and respect.

My buddy …… my pal.

He looks so small when he curls up in a ball.

He is so cute ……

Well here we go again can you believe ….. time for me to finish getting ready for work.

The nights sure seem to pass by so quickly.

Last night I slept right through …… that is definitely an accomplishment for someone of my age ….. LOL.

Happy Tuesday ……

Remember to express your kindness wherever you may go …..

Everyone deserves to be treated with kindness.

Special Hello to:  Happy Birthday Ladies ……

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day……

Good Morning and Welcome to Saturday the 4th day of April, 2015.

Well it is overcast and snowing here in Edmonton.

On the deck the snow is sticking as it makes touchdown.

Just a steady stream of rain-like snow coming down.

When I look out of my front window the streets and sides are only wet.

What a start to the weekend, yesterday was bright and sunny, and I think it was 15 degrees celsius here.

Now today exact opposite.

Well today is my last shift at the store.

Last night I baked a bunch of chocolate chip cookies to take to the staff this morning.

To show my appreciation for them all.

I am both excited and sad for this day.

Excited to have Friday night and the weekends back but sad to not to see all of my friends.

Today will be bittersweet.

Alvin is intently gazing out of our temporary bedroom window.

The kids move into their new house on the 16th which is right around the corner.

So much happening right now.

Still busy but at least now it will be on my own timetable.

I hope that if you are travelling on this Easter long weekend that you have clear skies if you are flying and dry safe roads for driving.

I hope that you are surrounded by the love of family and friends.

I hope that you are surrounded by laughter ….. always good to have some giggles.

I hope that perhaps you reach out to someone less fortunate than yourself.

I hope that if you see an animal in distress you help them.

May this weekend be all about love and respect for yourself and others.

Always remembers “others” includes all beings …..

Have a great Saturday.

Special Hello to: all those folks who read my blog, thank you so much.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day…..

Good Morning and Welcome to Tuesday the 15th day of July, 2014.

It is a beautiful sunny morning here in Edmonton with a nice cool breeze.

Forecast:  HOT.

Thank goodness for central air conditioning.

The puppies will stay cool and happy.

I would like to share a story from our walk last night.

We generally walk around the park in our neighbourhood that has three smaller man made “lakes” with homes surrounding them.

While we were walking we said hello to this “Grandma and little Girl” ….. they said hello.

Of course, Mr Alvin ran toward their fence to greet them.

They came down to the fence.

We live in a very multi-cultural neighbourhood which is very cool.

This Grandma speaks only some English but enough that we could have a conversation.

She commented on “how beautiful Alvin was” and if “a boy or a girl”?

I told her boy and that his name was Alvin and she initially could not say Alvin but more like “Albin” but then she got it.

We had a giggle and the little girl squealed with delight over Alvin.

But the cute part of the story was this:  “She said the beautiful ones get more love.”

I said very true.

Isn’t it funny that we all have that idea planted in our minds.

Perhaps we need to love each other no matter our appearance.

Well time to go to work.

Just wanted to quickly share that story.

Keep in mind ……. everyone deserves love and respect.

I love my neighbours …..

Special Hello to: my family and friends …

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day…..

Good Morning and Welcome to Tuesday the 25th day of February, 2014.

WOW, almost the end of yet another month.

One month closer to spring and I am extremely happy for that …..

This morning when I was having a shower – I moved the shower curtain to see Mr. Alvin lying on the mat in front of the tub.

Just lying there.

I felt a tear well up in my eyes as I felt so perfectly loved and protected at that very moment.

He truly is my “best friend.”

What a cute little guy.

He spent a couple of days with his sister Sunday and Monday (and slept over Sunday night).

When I was finished work and had stopped by to drop off the car – he was up at the window looking out.

My daughter had planned that she would just come out and drive me home (very cold for walking).

I could see him jump off the sofa and I knew he saw me.

He barked that shrill bark of his and it broke my heart.

I felt like I was abandoning him.

He spent the night because the kids were off yesterday and I worked.

Always better for him to have company than not.

When I stopped by at their house after work last night to pick him up ….. he was again up at the window.

Looking out and when he saw me ….. he looked twice and then headed for the door ….. oh, my boy.

But I did feel guilty even though he was in the best hands possible.

The kids always tease me and I know it to be true that Mr. Alvin is truly a “Momma’s Boy.”

He is the son that I never had …..

Well time to zip off to work …..

Just wanted to share that with all of you ….. I think that sometimes people forget just how attached our pets get to us.

I know they are part of our family and after all we are all “animals” …… we just happen to be on two legs instead of four.

They definitely love us unconditionally …..

I wish for this Tuesday that everyone would love and show respect to the their pets and the animals around them.

Special Hello to: all those special pets in the world and my Alvin…. love you buddy….. you are the best.

Always, Carol and “me” Alvin …..
