Thought for the day ……

Good Morning and Welcome to Thursday the 4th day of August, 2016.

Overcast but it looks like the sun is trying to burst through …. I hope so.

It has rained overnight as the deck is wet.

I did not hear it.

There be puppies coming to our house in a few minutes.

Elton and Casey are coming to spend the day with me and Alvin.

It will be great for Alvin to have some company and I love spending time with all the boys.

Hard to believe that it is Thursday …… where are my vacation days going?

Well I did accomplish a couple of things off my TO DO LIST.

Cleaned all of the bathroom fans.

Not that it is a terribly time consuming job but it is one that somehow always gets pushed to the bottom of the list.

I do have one HUGE job and that is digging up a strip of the front lawn.

Not especially looking forward to that but it will be fun to get my hands dirty.

I guess I will start that tomorrow as it would be nice to have it done before the end of the weekend and I am not sure how long it is going to take me.

 

Alvin is curled up on the end of our bed – that is his spot to wait for me when I am having a shower.

It is funny how he always is wherever I am when at home.

If I go outside he wants outside.

He makes me feel special.

Our four-legged friends have a way of doing that …..

 

Well just enough time to have breakfast before our company arrives.

As Elton cannot have banana anymore I like to make sure that we have breakfast before he arrives.

Treat them with love, kindness and respect.

Somedays, no most days they are better than we are at being kind and compassionate and loving.

We can definitely learn from them.

Good Morning and Welcome to Saturday the 6th day of December, 2014.

Today is the Birthday of my dear cousin “J” ….. we are only one year apart and grew up together.

She is one of the best people that I know.

Kind, smart, compassionate, funny and everything that makes a great human being.

I have always aspired to be like her …….

Happy Birthday my dear cousin.

 

Well today is another busy Saturday.

I had to sleep in because I felt that I needed to.

First thing on the agenda is to start my laundry, have breakfast, perhaps a quick cup of coffee and then go the “Optometrist” to pay for the balance on my eye glass order.

I am so excited to get new glasses after five years with the same frames.

Am taking my camera to take a photo of them as I do not have a cell phone.

Then come home and start BAKING ………. will start with the sugar cookies as they take the longest…..

So excited and in between will write up Christmas cards for the remaining ones to mail and for work and nearby friends.

Thought for the day……

Good Morning and Welcome to Monday the 29th day of September, 2014.

WOW ….. can you believe it – today is the second last day of September.

WOW, it has been a great month thus far.

I am so grateful that I am surrounded by love and laughter.

They round out the top things that we need/want in our lives.

Obviously top things that we need air, water and food ….. we need love and laughter.

Life is perfect with air, water, food, love and laughter.

That is my thought anyway.

Perfection.

I was reminded of this when I went to bed last night and could not settle down.

Every time I moved about ….. Alvin would change and cuddle close.

Did not need to be asked he just knew that he should be close.

He always makes me laugh and most certainly makes me feel loved.

He is always with me whether in body or in spirit.

I love how he always sits in the guard position when I am in the bathroom or getting dressed.

Ever the gentleman……

Well time to go to work.

WE ALL TO OFTEN FORGET THAT BEING A CANADIAN MEANS WE HAVE A LOT OF FREEDOMS.

WE LIVE IN A PEACE LOVING NATION.

WE HAVE FREEDOM OF CHOICE.

WE HAVE FREEDOM OF SPEECH AND EXPRESSION.

WE HAVE FREEDOM OF RELIGION.

WE CAN CELEBRATE OUR HERITAGE IN A COUNTRY THAT ENCOMPASSES ALL PEOPLES FROM EVERY CORNER OF THIS PLANET.

WE TRULY CARE ABOUT ONE AND ANOTHER.

CANADA IS BEAUTIFUL IN IT’S LANDSCAPES AND VISTAS.

CANADA IS FULL OF HOPES AND DREAMS.

CANADA IS THE BEST PLACE TO LIVE ON THE PLANET.

MY HOPE THAT EVERYONE WHO WAS BORN HERE OR COMES HERE APPRECIATES HOW LUCKY WE ARE TO HAVE CANADA AS OUR HOME.

C Lewis, July 1st, 2014 …..

TODAY:

We slept in this morning.

Last night after we went to bed some of our neighbours set off fireworks.

I guess they were starting early.

It is against the law to set off fireworks in a residential area (I am pretty sure).

Thank goodness part way through there was a downpour so any sparks would have been extinguished.

This morning with the bright sunshine and breeze I decided just after me and Alvin got up that we should go for a nice long walk.

I hadn’t realized before hand just how hot and muggy it is already …… so alas bad “Momma” did not take water.

Another lesson learned.

We had a great walk ….. saw lots of Canadian Flags displayed in yards …. which was great.

Lots of robins, ducks and ducklings, joggers and flowers.

It was fantastic.

Alvin seems to be feeling better now.

I heard somewhere to cool them down dampen a cloth with cool water and hold it by their hind quarters …. which I did ….. seemed to help.

Also I have air conditioning so that is amazing and I so appreciate it.

Time to have a shower and work on the wedding jewellery before going to work at the store.
