The New YEAR 2022

Good Morning ALL! How are you this Monday morning? We are up and at it extra early as I am only working two days this week. I tossed and turned last night so not a great sleep but I did catch some zzz’s along the way. Last night I set up my workstation downstairs which I think had Mr. Alvin wondering what the hey was going on! it will be a nice change to be working downstairs one again. As the temperatures start to increase over the upcoming months, it will be much more comfortable working on the main floor where I can have fans blowing on us. We will be closer to outside for Mr. Alvin. If he chooses to lay on the deck for a little while, he can do so. There is a pretty sunrise this morning and the night sky is slowly clearing to make way for clear blue sky for the day. I love this time of day in the spring. After a long winter of darkness and so much of the you know what, I said that I am not going to say that word and I have not and will not, anyway we are grateful that winter has passed once again. I do wonder what this summer will look like. Oh and the wind. It seems like we have much more wind as of late. The howling of the wind last night did not help me to shut down although it was more my thoughts would not subside so that I could sleep. It will be nice to have a few days off but with my job coming back is not pretty. Oh well, I am looking forward to having the grandpups, Miss Aspen and Master Milo here for just over a week. Alvin will enjoy it as well. I am hoping that he will sleep in a bit and not get up so early. Back to the sunrise, I can see slightly mauve hues on the southern rise. Oh, I love the morning sky. I just heard what sounds like a huge dog barking somewhere in the near distance from us. I wonder what is going on at his house. I hope that he is okay. We have had a lot of coyotes in the neighbourhood over the past several months.

I am happy that yesterday I cleaned the upstairs and downstairs including the floors, moved my work computer and monitor and items down stairs, reorganized my desk upstairs, watered plants, raked the backyard, started to clean out the main floor coat closet and went for a walk. Felt good to get things done.

Well the coffee is ready and I want to get an early start on work. I want to have everything done before I leave tomorrow.

I hope that you have a great day and that we all have good weather to go for a walk either once or today on this Monday. Getting outside with Alvin always makes me feel good.

Happy Monday.

Continuing to live this life with kindness, respect, compassion, patience, love, laughter, understanding, gratitude, focus and possibilities.

Always, Carol & Alvin

Second Half of the NEW YEAR.

Good Morning and Welcome to Saturday September 12, 2020.

Overcast and cool with a slight breeze this morning.

We were up at our usual about 4:00 a.m.

Alvin had his glucosamine chew and ate his breakfast, peed and then we were back to sleep to the sofa.

We did not stir until just after 8:30 a.m.; I guess we were tuckered out.

Or at least I was.

Alvin did well while I was at work yesterday.

My neighbour came over at noon to check on him.

They went to the backyard but Alvin would not pee.

Not sure why.

She gave him a biscuit …. guess he never says “no” to food.

Work went great.

It was so nice to see the girls.

There were four plus me on the main floor at the office.

One of the girls I did not see.

But did see the other three.

We all wore masks when we were not at our work stations which were well over 6 ft apart.

In fact we were in opposite corners from each other.

I got everything done just before 1:00 p.m.

My daughter had to cover for a lunch break so she picked me up at 2:30 p.m.

In between I took a lunch break in between and cleaned out my desk.

Nice to have a chat with the girls whom I have not physically seen since March 19, 2020.

Went through papers as there had been a few things that needed to be scanned to client files.

Nothing life threatening.

I sanitized both workstations before I left.

It was a reminder that others have been experiencing large volumes of emails when arriving back from vacation.

I felt not alone in that respect.

Reminder that we are more alike than different.

That things will get done.

I was happy that I was able to work quickly and get my task completed – now one of my teammates won’t have to go to the office on Monday to finish up.

I was in my zone and it went fast.

We went to COSTCO after work.

Oh my goodness that place was busy.

I have not seen such a long line at the check-out in years.

People were wearing masks.

Some still had a thing about keeping proper distance though.

Now the fridge and pantry are stocked for sure.

Alvin was surely happy to see us ….. he was so excited he forgot to go pee until I urged him to go.

I pretty much had to stop what I was doing and say “Alvin go pee” about four times.

What a guy.

Perhaps that is why we slept in this morning.

Busy day yesterday.

I folded and stuffed so many envelopes that I rubbed the skin off my hands in two places.

ARGH.

Well no real sight of the sun coming out.

Time to get this show on the road.

I have housework to do.

I want to rearrange and clean out the pantry again.

Laundry as usual.

Clean the main floor.

Walk at some point.

Vacuum …..

Write ……

Relax ….. for sure.

Living with Kindness and Respect.

I/We shall remain,

As Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day ….

Good Morning and Welcome to Saturday the 11th day of August, 2018.

Happy Birthday to my brother “J.”

Wishing you a great day my brother.

The sky is overcast with smoke and clouds.

I so wished that it would RAIN.

Rain and put out all of the forest fires.

The smoke has been intense here and I can only imagine what it is like in the areas affected by the fires.

WE have been spending a quiet last day or so.

Me and the boys (Alvin and Teddy) have been vegging in front of the fans.

No windows open as it has been so smoky.

Too hot to move around much.

I am also watching Humphrey the Cat and Cinder the Gecko.

Just watching the babies.

Too hot to spend the time that I need writing up my HOLIDAY POST complete with PHOTOS.

But I will.

The babies are wanting to go downstairs.

I had a refreshing shower.

I have found that a wet facecloth laid on the pups backs/tummies when they are laying down, helps keep them cool.

Funny how both of them actually just laid with the cloth on them.

I am so excited to share my Birthday trip stories and photos (there are lots of photos).

But with the heat and the smoke, I cannot spend much time upstairs on the computer.

But I will.

Time to go check on the other babies.

Mine want to go outside.

I sure hope that it rains.

The gal that baked my 60th birthday cake from work has been asked to bake me one for my 61st.

The cake is being delivered this morning.

I have invited friends over to share ….. this will be a two or three event.

Whenever people have time to come and have a piece of cake.

Getting hot now.

Have to move the fan back downstairs to cool the main floor.

Have a great day.

Keep cool and I hope that you are safe.

Special Hello to: all those folks who read my posts, thank you.

Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Tuesday the 20th day of February, 2018.

Whoops, almost said Monday.

The air felt warmer than I expected when outside this morning.

GUESS WHAT?

We went to bed late for a work night but I was engrossed in the OLYMPICS, Figure Skating.

Pairs Dancing …. they were all so good.

I am not sure if I saw all of them but there were almost ten or so pairs that I was able to enjoy their performances.

I thoroughly enjoyed watching them.

Was very thrilled to see CANADA win the GOLD …. Congratulations.

The FRENCH team were a joy to watch ….. they were all very good.

Anyway, back to this morning.

I woke up just before 4:00 a.m. and Mr. Alvin was still sleeping away.

Watching the clock 4:15, 4:30 and then 5:03 and then the alarm went off at 5:10 a.m.

ALVIN SLEPT until the ALARM WENT OFF.

I think quite honestly this has to be the first time in years …..

He certainly did jump when the alarm went off.

Now I am in dilemma, do we go to bed later and sleep to the alarm?

Would it even work two days in a row?

I do miss our hitting the sofa for some zzz’s and cuddling.

I guess we shall see what tonight and tomorrow morning brings.

We had an awesome FAMILY DAY weekend.

Alvin and I entertained and we worked and relaxed.

Does not get better than that.

I am so happy that Alvin has had Teddy around so much lately.

The little guy is good company for Mr. Alvin.

They even played ….. chased each other around the main floor.

Quite cute.

Well almost time to hit the road again.

Man, it seems like I say that often.

Happy Tuesday.

I hope that you all had an awesome weekend.

Special Hello to: You …. yes, you.  Thank you for being kind and have an awesome day.

Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Sunday the 19th day of November, 2017.

The sun is shining from behind a light cloud.

Alvin is barking as he tries to pick up his chew treat from the office floor.

What a morning!

Oh, me Alvin.

What a boy you are.

My neighbour came for a mug of coffee.

It is a thing we do.

We share the costs of some items as we are both single.

It works.

Always nice to have good neighbours.

I love writing on this blog and in my journal every day.

It allows me to look back to see weather, what was going on in the world and with us.

Sometimes we forget or actually most times we forget the little things, the good, the great little things that happen along the way only remembering the bad.

So this way I can see what was going on and be even more grateful for all that I have and for who I am.

I truly am surrounded by some of the best people on the planet.

So as our weather has been all over the place, thought would check and see the weather on this day for the past few years.

Today is supposed to be plus 3 celsius and then minus 20 something tomorrow.

What a change.

ARGH.

**************************************

Good Morning and Welcome to Thursday the 19th day of November, 2015.

Another morning waking up to brown/green ground.

YAY …. for the 19th of November that is great.

***************************************

Good Morning and Welcome to Wednesday the 19th day of November, 2014.

Our weather is still mild here in Edmonton which has been great.

******************************************

Good Morning and Welcome to Tuesday the 19th day of November, 2013.

I think it is going to be the winter of SO MUCH snow.

We almost had sunshine for a bit earlier yesterday,  and then it started to snow once again.

More shovelling.

**************************************

Well time to finish my chores before my friend comes at 1:00 p.m. to take apart my clothes dryer.

He is pretty sure he knows what is wrong and will take out the broken part and then get the new part.

Feeling so grateful to have generous, talented friends.

Have a wonderful Sunday.

Just going to vacuum upstairs and then take Mr. Alvin for a walk.

Then home and wash the main floor before the dryer appointment.

YAY, Sunday.

Special Hello to: all those folks who are blessed to have good friends (and family, of course).

Always, Carol & Alvin
