Thought for the day…..

Good Morning and Welcome to Sunday the 3rd day of May, 2015.

What a glorious morning here in Edmonton.

While I was writing in my gratitude journal at the kitchen table this morning, I gazed out of the window onto the deck.

What to my eyes did I see but a slight layer of frost glistening like diamonds in the sunlight as it slowly melted into the wood.

So beautiful ….. one of nature’s best.

We finally got some rain late yesterday afternoon and overnight.

Enough to make the ground damp in spots.

Better than naught.

So happy to see spears of green grass poking their way to the sunlight on the front and back lawn.

We, me and Alvin are getting ready to greet some company for coffee.

Two of my girl friends and possibly their children are coming for a visit.

We always love to have company.

Love to chat about the world and ours.

Love to laugh and tell stories …. recanting our childhoods and such.

It is a glorious morning.

Yesterday was busy ….. OH, I VOTED in the advanced polls.

YAY …. so happy to have that most important task completed.

Also hit the grocery store, did some cleaning  …. more laundry ….. (where does it all come from??) and decided to put out the new bathroom curtain, towels and accessories in the main bathroom upstairs and also in my bedroom.

FIXED:  bedroom – bedspread, sheets, new matching pillows ….. looks beautiful.

I was going to wait until I painted but decided “why not enjoy it all now” ….. this way it gives me a better idea as to what direction I should go for the paint colour.

Photos were snapped and I will post them shortly so you can see my new stuff and perhaps give me some ideas as to paint colour for the master bedroom.

My thoughts initially were light turquoise or the palest of sky blues and now I am leaning to SAND.

Oh, I am needing some coffee.  Might have to put it on a bit early ….. mmm, I love a good cup of coffee.

Oh, yes … I did not forget about Miss Aussie …. her Momma is away down south … Palm Springs, I Believe.

She actually ran off the window ledge when she saw me coming so I gingerly opened the front door and stuck my keys in ahead of me (she likes to put her paws out, too and hers are way more sharp than mine) ….. anyway I managed after a couple of moments to get inside the house.  She then ran back to the window.  I gave her food, her medicine and fresh water.  As soon as she was away from the window … I opened it …. she loves to sit on the window sill and look outside.  She might as well enjoy the beautiful fresh air.  By the way, it smells like it just rained.

Well time to go and get that coffee on and a couple of items.

I hope that you have a grand Sunday.

Take care and be safe.

Be kind as you set out on your day …..

To yourself and to ours.

Special Hello to:  Family and Friends …… thank you for everything in my life.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day…..

Good Morning and Welcome to Sunday the 20th day of July, 2014.

20th of July ….. wow it has been a busy, full month.

I am so happy that there are still 11 days to go.

This morning in Edmonton the sky has been mainly overcast with the sun peeking through every once in awhile.

It has been so nice to have the moisture as it has been pretty dry….

My lawn is now a pretty green …. so happy for that.

I am so happy that I was able to get the “master bedroom” all washed down (walls, floors and bathroom, blinds) for the new occupants who arrive on Wednesday night.

It is so exciting.

The last time anyone lived with me was 2001/2002 when Steven moved into the apartment in Regina with Amanda and I. (then they moved to Edmonton).

I guess I should count Alvin ….. that would not be fair.

Okay the last two-legged ones were over ten years ago.

It is always official when the cable guy comes out.

But in this case …. it was the “cable girl” ….. I was pleasantly surprised.

The first time a cable technician was a woman.

I asked her if there were many female cable technicians and she said “no.”

She said it is an interesting job …. you never know what you will find on the other side of the door.

I can only imagine.

Well my daughter will be here shortly for coffee and we will finish off the wedding jewellery …..

The jewellery fitting on Thursday night went great ….. the Bride and her Mom loved all of the pieces.

I was happy and relieved.

Have a happy, happy Sunday as I listed to “Happy” by Pharrell Williams.

I love this song.

It is the song of the decade.

It is so crazy that the best and most popular songs are from “children’s movies.”

I will be back tomorrow with bells on ….

Special Hello to: my sister ….. sorry it has been crazy busy on this end.  Miss you.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day….

Good Morning and Welcome to Sunday the 29th day of June, 2014.

Wow, two days left in June ……

Then Canada Day ……

It has been a very rewarding weekend thus far.

Considering I spent 3.5 days last week with dental issues, I am happy to say all is well.

Me and Alvin moved our bed from the master bedroom to the office.

My daughter, son-in-law and grand-puppies are moving in with us in July.

They are building a new house and their current home has sold.

We are very excited.

I gladly, gave up the master bedroom to have them move in with us.

It will be wonderful having someone other than Alvin to talk to ….. although he is great company …. not much of a “talker.”

Anyway, we have our bed, night stand and computer …… don’t need more than that.

I feel like a little kid ….. so excited to have a “new room.”  ……

I want to hang up some pictures etc on the walls.

I moved all of my book cases and books and odds and ends to the guest bedroom …..

It looks actually quite nice and I was pleasantly surprised that they all fit and it looks great.

I will share photos later ….. just getting ready to go to work at the store.

I have decided to have a garage sale in a couple of weeks.

Give and sell things.

I have so much and I feel like downsizing ……

Mr. Alvin seems to have settled in as he is standing up on his hind legs looking out the window.  (on the bed which is close to the window).

Last night he wasn’t sure …..

When we went to bed …. he went into the master first and then when I said “to bed” ….. he seemed to understand.

We are happy ….. I am truly so excited to have them with us.

I am grateful that I have the room/space for them to live with us.

How very cool.

They are the best kids and so good to me and Alvin ……

Canada Day, I am working at the store which is cool ….. so anyone shopping I can “wish them a Happy Canada Day.”

It is overcast and windy at the moment.

Mr. Sun is trying to come out from behind the clouds.

I think Alvin really like the new bedroom ……. some new views for him to look at …..

Last night I baked a rhubarb (from my friend) and apple (from my brother) crisp and also tried a new recipe from my friend, Val – a rhubarb (threw in a few apples) upside down cake.

Between the moving upstairs, some cleaning and laundry ….. baking down at 11:00 p.m.

Nothing like baking and then going to bed ….. the house smells amazing.

Well I hope you all have a great Sunday.

Wherever you are and whatever you are doing – play and work safe.

Happy Sunday.

Special Hello: to my cousin “J” …… thank you.  I am feeling much better now that I got my “mouth” tended to and also getting the bed and stuff moved.  Haven’t tasted the crisp but I added brown sugar …. smells amazing.

Always, Carol and Alvin
