Thought for the day ….

Good Morning and Welcome to Tuesday the 29th day of January, 2019.

Appears we might miss the bitter cold that is affecting so much of the country.

It is cold but does not appear to be the minus 40-50 temperatures of other areas.

Stay inside …. keep warm…..

KEEP YOUR PETS INSIDE.

Not good for any warm-blooded creatures, remember that….

We may have two legs instead of four but we are all warm-blooded creatures.

It is time that we started to be more respectful.

Never too late to be kind and respectful.

Alvin is lying on his blue blanket and relaxing.

I am taking the bus to and from work, today.

Grateful for the bus.

It is a few blocks so will be bundling up for sure.

Last night Humphrey stayed with us from 6:30 – 9:45 p.m. – the boys did good.

Pretty much kept their distance for the most part although at one point Humphrey did sit with us on the sofa.

One on each side of me.

Humphrey sure likes the tablet and places his paws on the screen and intently watches the movements.

Both went outside for a bit.

Funny, as soon as I opened the door and Alvin went out – no matter where Humphrey was in the house, he ran as fast as he could to go outside.

He certainly loves being outside.

Well not too much longer before have to leave for work.

Sure would be nice to hibernate for the winter.

Just stay inside all toasty warm.

I guess that would not be much fun.

Perhaps I should have been a bear.

Maybe next time.

Who knows.

Every day is a lesson in life.

If you get a lower grade than you should …. study more to do better the next day.

Simple as that.

Be kind and respectful.

Remember gratitude.

Some days you may feel low but things will be better.

Remember, it is the MINDSET.

Happy Tuesday.

Special Hello to: my sister and my friend V …. thank you ladies for being so supportive and kind.  Alvin and I love you both.

Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day ….

Good Morning and Welcome to Friday the 4th day of May, 2018.

Happy Birthday to one of my dear friends back in Saskatchewan.

She has always treated me like a sister, one of the family.

Truly a great great family so kind, generous and loving.

Looks like the sun is beginning to rise in the morning sky.

There are some clouds but perhaps they will dissipate in the next few hours.

I know we need rain but at night would be perfect.

Tomorrow I must get out and do the Neighbourhood TRASH pickup.

It has to get done soon before the street sweepers come out.

Then some of it gets pushed into the storm drains.

Tomorrow morning NO MATTER WHAT, I will be donning my gloves, old jacket and shoes, a supply of garbage bags and my handy dandy trash picker uppers.

Alvin has now made lying on the blanket beside me in the office part of the routine.

I drape the blanket over my office chair and just before I sit down I place it beside the chair for Alvin.

Such a cutie pie.

Well it appears to be coming up to be busy weekend.

Lots of work to do.

Regular laundry and cleaning.

The TRASH pick up.

The weather forecast is nice for tomorrow and Sunday.

Excited for that.

With all of my idols writing books, movies and the like – I am inspired to get my head out of the sand and write more.

There are always those old tapes playing over and over in my mind.

Am I good enough?

Can I do it?

Would anyone read my book?

Stuff like that.

Typical.

But sometimes you just have to get off the pot and DO IT.

Right.

You will never know until you try.

This can be said for most of us.

There will always be that dreaded speech, writing project or deadline of any kind that DRIVES US MAD.

Stop playing those tapes, they have been erased.

They have been replaced.

They no longer exist.

You and I are free to DO and BE whatever we chose.

Go forth …. give ’em something to think about.

Well almost time to get going … finish up the finishing up.

My tea order arrived last night and I am delivering to my friends/co-workers today.

So grateful to the folks that help support my business.

Special Hello to: the Birthday Girl ….. Happy Birthday Sis.

Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day ….

Good Morning and Welcome to Saturday the 19th day of August, 2017.

We had a storm last night with quite the wind.

Cooled things down and also blew out the smoke.

The sky is now a lovely powder blue.

There remains a breeze this morning and I am thankful.

Will have to get all of our windows open to receive some fresh air.

This morning two of my friends are having a birthday party for me.

There was no other time so the decision was to have it later and honestly this is great.

I have been celebrating my birthday for two weeks.

How lucky am I.

Sometimes a slight roadblock may arise but keep a positive mindset and things will work out.

I always tell myself this ……

Have a great Saturday.

Special Hello to: my friends all over the world.

Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day……

Good Morning and Welcome to Wednesday the 19th day of November, 2014.

Tonight I work my first Wednesday night at the store.

Now begins the schedule of working Wednesday, Thursday and Friday nights and then Sundays.

I wonder how many people shop on a Wednesday night ….. guess I will find out this evening.

With it being the start of the holiday shopping season ….. I am sure there will be people out and about.

Our weather is still mild here in Edmonton which has been great.

My daughter and I had a great walk with the puppies last night.

They ran and ran …… so cute.

Oh what a life they have …….

Has this been a good week?

I started with conflicting feelings and trying to pull myself back to the light …..

I managed on Tuesday to change things around and everything worked out.

It makes a huge difference if you are feeling good and keeping your thoughts and actions going in a positive direction.

Now I know we are human and humans for some reason cannot seem to stay positive and happy at all times.

We are drawn in by our “ego self” and surroundings.

Perhaps things may not always work out perfectly but they sure can be close.

It is all a mindset.

Change your mind and change your life.

I remember a famous person stating that mantra.

It is so true.

I am so grateful to be living the life that I do.

Filled with love and laughter and so much more.

So on this Wednesday I hope that you find kindness and joy all around and if not create it.

Smile ….. open a door ….. buy someone a coffee …… help a neighbour …… LET US DO SOME GOOD THINGS ….. NO, LET US DO SOME GREAT THINGS TODAY.

Special Hello to: my friends who always stand beside me ….. not ahead or aback.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day….

Good Morning and Welcome to Wednesday the 19th day of June 2013.

It is overcast and a bit cooler here in Edmonton and yet it is a beautiful morning.

I guess beauty is a mindset.

Over the course of each day do you take a moment(s) to drink in the beauty that surrounds you …. us?

There are countless things that pop into my mind.

Nature is a great place to start.

Especially in the spring/summer.

Look around you.

See all of the colours, textures and listen to the sounds.

There is a parade of beauty going by you each and everyday.

So homework for this day ….. take a few moments as you go through your day and enjoy and be grateful.

Mother Nature’s patterns are alive and bring great joy.

I love watching butterflies do that little “dip fly dip fly” thing that they do.

I love watching fluffy white clouds in the sky and imagine what they might be.

I love watching my dog Alvin reacting to a bird singing in the trees or a duck on the water.

It so so worth the time and you will feel so much better.

Now if Nature comes in the package of a downtown concrete condo with only flower boxes and trees for colour that’s okay, too.

Drink it all in.

Even signs glowing in the evening air ….. watching people as they walk by ….

Beauty surrounds us ….

There is something about the natural grace of this place ….

I hope that you enjoy your day.

I am certainly going to …..

Thank you for the clean fresh air…….

Special Hello to: Nature Lovers

Always, Carol and Alvin
