Thought for the day…..

Good Morning and Welcome to Friday the 12th day of September, 2014.

WOW, ’tis Friday …… weekend.

I think it is going to be a great weekend.

Starting off with coffee with my friend “G” at her house.

Followed by laundry, cleaning up both indoors and outdoors.

Time to pull the annuals and reorganize the garage to put away the pots and patio furniture.

I love seeing the deck bare …. it just has that look, you know.

I love seeing spring and the patio furniture and the flowers once again.

But for now will concentrate on the present time.

It is almost officially fall …..

We are so lucky most of the trees in our neighbourhood are still very much green.

Despite the harsh frost we had a couple of nights ago.

Anyway, I love that slight coolness to the air …..

Walks are more enjoyable …..

Oh and time to start putting away summer clothing and bring out fall/winter.

Check to see if you have mittens, scarves, boots and coats.

I need to go shopping soon for new winter boots.

I have some that will work for now but really would like new ones.

Well almost time to head out the door ….

I hope that you all have a fantastic Friday.

Take care.

Special Hello to: all those people who are getting ready for the change in seasons.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day….

Wow, welcome to Monday, November 5th ,2012 ….. it is raining here in the City of Edmonton.

Now that does not happen often at this time of year.

It seems funny to have snow on the lawns and rain puddles on the streets.

It did not freeze overnight as I can see the water moving on the street …. wow.

Well my house is beginning to look a lot like Christmas …..

My daughter helped me put up the tree on Saturday.

Over the next few days/week I will put the finishing touches on the fireplace mantle, top of the cupboards in the kitchen and throughout the house, also outside.

I love all the splashes of red throughout my house ….. red energizes me and makes me feel alive and vibrant.

Yesterday was quite busy at store as people start picking up gifts for Christmas.

Less than two months till the big day.

I like to think that the big day happens everyday throughout the holiday season.

What I mean by that remark is this:  that I am extra nice to everyone I see, meet and know; that I hold good things in my heart and mind; that I do as much good as possible and try to be  happy and positive at every turn.  It is the time of year to be kind.  Actually we should be kind all 365 days of the year but extra kind at this time of year….

So if I see someone that is cold and needs a pair of mittens – I would give them the ones that I am wearing.  I actually did that one time here in Edmonton.  It was winter, and I was waiting at West Edmonton Mall for the bus.  A woman and her child were shivering while waiting, and neither of them had mittens so I gave mine to the little one.  If I had two pair I would have given one to the Mom as well.  Being selfless is just doing things without thinking of yourself.  Sure, my hands might have been cold but I had pockets and well sometimes you just have to do things.  I believe in helping my fellow human beings whenever and wherever it is possible.  Sometimes it is only something as small as a pair of mittens.  You know that Mom kept saying “thank you, thank you” over and over again.  She was very grateful.  I felt like I had won the lottery that day ….. my heart swelled with joy and love.

Well I guess it is time to sign off as I have to finish getting ready for work.

I hope that you have a wonderful day.

Take the time to be aware of those around you and if someone is in need …. help them the best as you can.

Take care ….

Be safe, warm and happy.

Special Hello to: all those “GUARDIAN ANGELS” out there ….. we love you and are grateful for your presence.
