Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Monday the 5th day of June, 2017.

Well this morning is unlike the past couple of mornings as it is overcast, windy and was raining.

The winds last night seemed close to gale force as they rocked the neighbourhood accompanied by lightning and thunder.

What a show it was.

Unfortunately with all the excitement it did not make for a very good night sleep.

Oh well ….. that is what happens sometimes.

We had a good weekend and enjoyed our little adventure to the “Northern Park.”

I call it that as it is two parks north of our house.

The baby geese always hang out there or at least most of them.

So each year me and Alvin make sure we take a walk up there.

It is not really that far but it is so much different than our “parks” and is most enjoyable.

The path through the area has not been touched for the most part it is wild as far as the trees and plants go.

The wild roses were blooming unlike ours in our nearby parks.

The fragrance filled the air.

I could sniff that scent all day long.

Close your eyes and imagine the most wonderful scent known to man.

We had a great two hours.

We did not walk steady as we would stop and take it all in and I snapped as many photos along the way as I could with a leash in one hand and a water bottle for Alvin in the other.

The rest of our Sunday was quiet and relaxing.

I have come to realize and have for some time that “one must always keep an open mind.”

It is something that is not always one hundred percent easy to do but we need to try.

There will always be changes.

Changes in life happen every second.

We just have to keep an open mind.

Well here it is time to leave for the walk to the bus once again.

Seems like it was yesterday but that was two days ago.

Time flies.

Have an awesome Monday.

Happy Monday All.

Special Hello to: those adventurers who enjoy life one second at a time.

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Monday the 27th day of June, 2016.

This morning the sun is shining brightly in the morning sky.

Today marks the 65th Birthday of my eldest first cousin on my mother’s side of the family.

Happy Birthday Cousin, we wish you the most wonderful day.

Today is the birthday of my life long friend “D” ….. she is one of two.

Happy Birthday to the twins.

Why is it that Monday mornings seem to arrive so quickly.

Not as usual but some Mondays I play beat the clock and this is one of them.

So unfortunately this will be very short.

I hope that your Monday morning did not arrive too quickly.

Wishing you all the best Monday on record.

Thank you for reading my blog.

Special Hello to: all my cousin and friends who celebrate birthdays today.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Monday the 21s day of September, 2015.

Rained all night but has stopped now.

I think we have had more rain in September than all summer or at least it seems that way.

How are you feeling this fine Monday morning?

I always have to boost myself up after Sunday nights.

Usually I cannot settle down and go to sleep …. too many thoughts.

Are you this way?

It is just like the night before going on a big trip?

You go through your suitcase ….. do a checklist.

You make sure in your mind that you have your passport, traveller’s cheques, cash.

Because you keep imagining the airline clerk asking for your passport and you cannot find it.

I had that dream and wasn’t even going anywhere.

Who knows … what that means?

You make sure that you gave the spare key to your neighbour who is watching your house while you are gone.

You make sure that unnecessary electrical appliances are unplugged.

The whole gambit …. you go through.

For me most Sundays nights I go through that day, the next, the week and it certainly did not help that it was raining.

Oh well, I made sure that I had some energy boosters for breakfast ( oh, the natural ones of course ).

Green tea – MATCHA ….. very good.

Just in case you are going somewhere ….. always have a checklist.

Passport anyone!

Well it was an interesting Sunday …. my daughter was supposed to come but was not able to in the end.

Part of the plan was to make pancakes (which I did … pumpkin spiced ones) and give Mr. Alvin a hair cut & bath.

OMG, he is such a DIVA.

I will admit that I raised my voice …. likely close to yelling very briefly when I struggled to trim his paws.

Finally I managed to get them trimmed pretty good or at least way better than the time before …..

We did have a good Sunday …… all in all.

Well I guess I had better get this show on the road.

Almost time to go and catch that earlier bus ….

So happy it stopped raining and hopefully the sun will shine today.

Special Hello to: my friends back in Regina …..

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day…..

Good Morning and Welcome to Monday the 20th day of April, 2015.

Well I am disappointed and confused this morning.
Up extra early so that I will be ready to start our new routine.
I go into Word Press to find that the format has changed.
No time to fiddle with things to figure it out.
Oh well …..

Guess this will be short as I have to leave for the bus shortly.

I hope that you have an awesome day.
Will get this figured out …..
I wished that I had better computer “figuring out” skills.

Happy Monday everyone.

Special Hello to: Family and Friends on this Monday.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Monday the 27th day of October, 2014.

The end of October is fast approaching.

Why is it as you get older that time seems to past so quickly?

I think it is only because in your youth time is not something you consciously think about.

As you get older in the second half of life you think about time as you ponder all of the things that you want to do or all of the things that you did not do yet and might think it is too late.

Of course then – it does seems to pass quickly.

Does this make sense?

Well it is Monday morning and some Mondays “making sense” might be just a dream.

Well maybe this is too deep for a Monday.

I hope that you are easy on yourself as you get older …. do what you can and be happy that you are able to do that.

Don’t lose sleep over time.

Live in the moment ….. be aware of what you are doing at that moment and life will still pass as it always does.

I hope that you have an awesome Monday.

Special Hello to: YOU …..

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day…..

Good Morning and Welcome to “snow covered rooftops and vehicle windshields” on this Monday the 8th day of September, 2014.

Not that I was surprised or anything but perhaps a little disappointed that Mother Nature decided that we needed to have that white stuff at the end of the first weekend in September.

All things considered it is okay.

I know that it will not stay.

It will go away and come again another day.

I just hope that it is later.

Yes, I know I am rhyming ….. pretty good for 6:30 on a Monday …….

Oh, silly me.

There was a bunny curled up on the front lawn this morning …. still brown … no white patches that I could see.

Poor little guy (actually not so little) must have been cold after a hot summer.

Perhaps it was refreshing…..

I always have wondered how even on a minus thirty day they can be out hopping about ….

Just makes me cold to think about them.

I know that they are suited but still I worry.

How are you this extra cool morning?

Ready to turn on the furnace.

I am going to try and hold out for a little bit.

Seems strange to turn on the furnace only a couple of days since it was 27 degrees celsius ….. (it was that warm here on Saturday).

There are lots of blankets for the puppies to curl up in and of course, they have there fur coats on …..

They will be warm do not worry.

So I guess it is almost time to go to work.

I hope that you have a wonderful Monday.

Thank you for reading my blog ……. I so appreciate your sharing your precious time with me.

Special Hello to: all those folks who read blogs and who write them ….. we do make a difference.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day…..

Good Morning and Welcome to Monday the 28th day of July, 2014.

It is a glorious day here in the City of Edmonton.

The sun is up, there is a slight breeze and it is cool and comfortable.

It would be a great idea for me to get my bottom more mobile and take Mr. Alvin for an early morning walk.

The next few days are forecasted to be with the humidity in the 30’s ….. pretty hot.

We then have to wait until later in the evening to go for a walk.

I love walking in the evenings but in the morning is also nice.

Only hitch is me.

I am learning and slowly becoming a morning person.

Is there such a think?

Why are we as human beings so much different between morning and night?

I know when I get to work in the mornings which is generally about 7:15 …. when I greet people they sometimes do not reply.

For some reason most people do not function well in the early morning.

Lots of people are what we deem as night owls.

They stay up late whether due to work or play or just because.

Then they sleep in (if possible).

Is there such a thing as an afternoon person?

Food for thought.

Perhaps I will do some research and find out what the experts say on the subject.

But it does intrigue me somewhat.

So on this wonderful Monday morning ….. I hope this finds you well and ready to start your day.

Happy and smiley.

Take Care.

Special Hello to: my sister ….. perhaps this weekend we can catch up.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day…..

Good Morning and Welcome to Monday the 7th day of July, 2014.

It is a pure “light” blue sunny sky here from my home in Edmonton, Alberta.

There is a nice breeze keeping the early morning hours – cool.

All of this week the forecast is in the high 20’s – celsius that is.

Yesterday morning when my daughter came to pick me up for work (so lucky she drove me to and from the store yesterday).

She found just comfortably attached to my front door wreath another one of the biggest dragonflies I have ever seen.

I did not notice them to be so big years ago but the last two or three they are huge.

We snapped some photos for you to see.

IMG_1802IMG_1803IMG_1810IMG_1810 IMG_1811 IMG_1812 IMG_1813IMG_1806 IMG_1807 IMG_1808 IMG_1809

Are not dragonflies the coolest insect on the planet.

They are my favourite.

Every time that I see one I feel so blessed and lucky.

It is like they draw positive energy into my body.

Just make me feel so good.

It seems that for the past three years one of them has always landed on the front wreath just waiting for me to come and snap a photo.

So on this gorgeous Monday I hope that you are feeling great as well.

Thank you for reading my blog.

Special Hello to: everyone who loves dragonflies.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day…..

Good Morning and Welcome to Monday, the 29th and third last day of July, 2013.

WOW, almost August.

I hope that you had a great weekend.

Yesterday while at Bath & Body Works I bumped into one of my friends and colleagues from SGI in Regina.

It was so great to see Maureen …. she looks wonderful and it was so wonderful to catch up.

I always love seeing everyone from back home in Saskatchewan.

Isn’t it always great when someone you haven’t seen for awhile makes an appearance in your life.

It warms your heart and brings back memories.

I wished that I would see more people more often from back home.

I think that is a good wish.

Well the temperature has cooled down and it the skies are partially overcast this Monday morning.

So not quite sure what the day will bring.

Almost time to be off to work ….. at the office.

So remember to take a deep breath and take some “me” time no matter who your day is going.

Always good to just have a few moments/minutes of downtime.

Close your eyes and just breath.

Try to quiet your mind.

Have a wonderful day.

Here we go with another line in my story.  I am writing this story one line at a time and I have no preconceived story or plot lines … just want to see where it goes.

I hope that you enjoy and that I make it enjoyable.

Special Hello to: all those folks travelling and seeing folks they haven’t seen in some time.

Always, Carol and Alvin

I haven’t figured out the logistics of doing this so bear with me.  But here we go…..

FIRST LINE …..July 25, 2013

As we walk along the water’s edge the coolness leaves my skin with goose bumps and prickles, as if there is someone behind me.

July 26, 2013

Alvin pulls on his leash and brings me back, the fragrance of freshly cut grass fills my nostrils; my heart beat quickens, and I am unable to shake the feeling.

July 28, 2013

The sky is overcast with a hint of sunrise peeking through and the leaves of the trees rustle in the breeze, and I think how did I get here?

July 29, 2013

What does that mean, and what is making me think these thoughts?

Thought for the day…..

Good morning and welcome to Monday, February 27th, 2012.

Wow ….. almost March, can you believe it?

The sun came out yesterday late morning and was great to see after receiving what seems like five feet of snow.

Perhaps not quite that much but when you are shovelling and shovelling and it keeps coming down and piling up …… it certainly seems like it.

I was looking out my living room window Saturday night and the new fallen snow appeared to be one huge glittering, shining DIAMOND.

So beautiful …… so for a time …. I forgot all about the rest.

So wherever you are …. I wish you a fantastic Monday and beginning to the week.

Take Care.

Special Hello:  to everyone back in Regina ……. I miss you guys…..

Always, Carol and Alvin…..
