Living … One day at a time.

Hello,

Welcome to the weekend.

So excited.

We had a huge rainstorm with booming thunder and lots of light up the sky lightning.

Woke us up.

Alvin wanted to go outside.

So just as it started to hail …. Ma in her summer nightie and coat ran out in the hail to move her flowers.

I only have four pots this year in the backyard and I did not want them to get flatten.

Ended up that the hail was quite small … about pea sized and appears that did not do much damage.

The puddles are still visible this morning as I look out the window of my office.

One of the neighbours does not have an actual paved driveway so obviously the dirt will puddle.

After work my daughter and I went to COSTCO.

I don’t mind checking things out.

She is happy that now her Ma has a cell …. she cannot lose me.

Sometimes we use to lose each other and then it could take a long time to locate the other.

After arriving at home, we split some items and my daughter left for home.

I put the groceries away and then made a beautiful salad for supper.

One of our friends called to invite us for for a visit in their backyard.

They live down the street and have the nicest backyard.

First photos Alvin was patiently waiting for my friend’s husband to come out to the backyard.

He loves him so much.

I will say that most of the time Alvin was either laying on the swing between us girls or rolling around in the grass.

I tried to play frisbee with him although once or twice he tried to pick it up ….. he did not quite get it.

I guess you cannot always teach old dogs new tricks.

He did run around like a crazy pup when I pretended to be a monster (like we do on the deck at home).

He ran back and forth and had a blast.

The grass is so lush and beautiful.

Well I guess we need to end this post as Teddy will be here shortly.

I still have to put in the first load of laundry.

I had planned to do laundry last night but then received the invite.

We were happy to be invited out so we grabbed the opportunity.

Then breakfast and coffee.

Always need that cup of coffee.

Have an awesome Saturday.

This afternoon my grand pups arrive.

They will stay with us while their parents attend a wedding in the City.

So happy to be spending the day with the pups.

I will take Alvin and Teddy for a walk before the others arrive.

Not able to take all four.

Remember Kindness and Respect will bring you the world.

Always, Carol & Alvin & soon Teddy …..

Thought for the day ……

Good Morning and Welcome to Friday the 15th day of January, 2016.

Another round of snow ….

We had the snow globe effect off and on yesterday and overnight.

I love the white fluffy stuff …. easy to shovel and looks so pretty.

Like diamonds shining in the sky …. but laying on the ground.

So beautiful.

Makes me want to lay down and be one with the snow…..

Well maybe …..

Likely at 58 that is not a great idea …. but it is a thought.

Last night after Alvin had his supper and stuff …. we went out onto the deck ….. figured I would do some shovelling.

Once I had the deck shovelled ….. Alvin decided he wanted to play.

Oh, how I wish that I had taken my camera outside and grabbed a quick video of him.

The game is …. I pretend I am a monster ….. I walk with my legs wide apart …. arms in the air and say “GRR GRR ” and so on.

Anyone listening or seeing would be laughing at me for sure …..

He loves it ….. he literally runs in circles and when he goes between the different levels of the section closest to the house and the mid part he does this little hop, skip thing.

OMG, it melts my heart and makes me laugh out loud.

He will do this forever ….. as long as I will …..

I figured after doing this for awhile that would take the place of the walk to the park ….. he definitely got his fresh air and exercise.

He has personality that one …. oh me Alvin …… I love you.

I did want to mention and I am certain that everyone has heard of their passings but we lost this past few days:  music genius David Bowie, actor extraordinaire Alan Rickman and Rene Angelil, superb manager to Celine Dion and many others over the years.

We shall miss them all and their creativity.

Well almost time to start putting on the finishing touches before I leave to catch the bus to work.

The bus ride is basically one hour and is a wonderful time to reflect and sometimes even catch some extra sleep.

Have a wonderful day.

Special Hello to: all those tea lovers out there ……

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Friday the 11th day of September, 2015.

Still getting used to it being dark but soon it will be light.

Oh, Mr. Alvin just let out a huge sigh.

I wished that I could spend my days at home with him.

We would take long walks like we used to …. go exploring.

We would snuggle more….

We would just be.

We do the best that we can for now.

Ever opportunity for a belly rub or to snuggle.

The one thing that I could do more is “play” …. throw the ball.

We do have one game that he loves …

Out on the deck.

I pretend to be a “monster” for lack of a better word … only by raising my hands above my head and taking a wider stance with my feet placement and growling.

He then takes his nose down posture a little bark ….. bit of a jump in the air and off he runs.

Up and down the stairs and across the deck.

He is so cute to watch.

It is my favourite time with him other than when we are snuggled at night time.

On the deck he runs and that little hop jump thing that he does …. honestly I laugh it is so darn cute.

Well I opted to stay on the sofa until 5:50 a.m. this morning which gave me 50 minutes to: write in my gratitude journal, make and eat breakfast, makeup and dressed, and my blog ……

YAY …. I did it.

Well time to put in one last day at the office before the weekend.

It is a great day.

I am so grateful for everyone and everything in my life.

For every door that is opened and every one that is closed.

For every giggle and every tear.

For every bit of food and for every meal.

For living in a country that is peaceful.

For my life …. it is a great one ….

Well time to run to catch the bus and let Mr. Alvin out one last time.

Have an awesome Friday.

Remember everything that happens is an opportunity to do better.

That is what I think and work on doing.

Someone once said if you say “work on” instead of “try” you will do it.

Special Hello to: my sister “C” …..

Always, Carol and Alvin
