It is a NEW YEAR.

Good Morning, Saturday ….. so  happy about it being the weekend.

Both Alvin and I are super excited.

His best buddy Teddy is coming over about 9:00 a.m. to spend the whole day with us.

At 10:00 a.m. two of my best girl friends, the young ones are coming for coffee on the deck.

One of them is bringing Tim’s coffee and donuts.

She even asked our favourites.

I had planned to have coffee and muffins but there is no changing her mind.

I have offered to pay and that went over like a lead balloon.

Now, don’t I have such great friends ….. coming for a visit.

We are moving out of the garage – thankfully there is not gale force winds like last time.

The sun is shining brightly so it should not be too cold sitting on the deck.

We have lots of room to move around out there.

If it does get cold, we will just move to the shelter of the garage each with a chair.

Tomorrow is Mother’s Day.

I cannot believe it, already.

I wish that I had a special treat for every “Mother” on the planet.

Whether you crawl, fly, are two or four-legged, Mothers rock this world.

Have an awesome Saturday.

Gotta fly, here …. lots to do before the company starts to arrive.

Take care.

Be smart when you are out and about.

Social Distancing will keep us safe and alive.

Have an awesome Saturday, did I say that already.

Gotta go.

With so much kindness and respect, to ALL.

I/We, remain,

As Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day ……

Good Morning and Welcome to Wednesday the 28th day of December, 2016.

Our weather has warmed yesterday and for today and the next few to follow.

My thoughts as of late are to all of those wonderful souls that have passed during this past year.

Some have been famous.

Some have been family.

Some have been friends.

Some you know and some you do not.

They made us laugh.

They shared their lives, their stories.

They will always be with us in the air that we breathe, and in all that surrounds us.

Their stories will continue in us.

To all of those who are missing your mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, aunts, uncles, friends, grandparents, beloved fur-babies: pups and kitties, you are in my thoughts.

I wrote this poem almost twenty years ago.

I would like to give this a tribute to all those wonderful spirits we have said goodbye to in 2016.

BEYOND THE SUNSET

The sun melts into hues of gold and pink,

as the sky darkens.

A peaceful sigh, as she closes her eyes.

She sees the roses in her garden.

The fragrance soft but strong in the air.

She sees her children and theirs.

She feels her husband’s touch.

She remembers times gone by.

It has been a great life!

She is not afraid,

The time has come.

The Lord extends his hand,

And she follows him home.

Special Hello to: Rest in Peace our darlings. Rest in Peace.

Thought for the day…..

Good Morning and Welcome to Monday the 12th day of May, 2014.

How are you doing this Monday morning?

I hope that this finds you feeling great.

Question?

How do you sleep?

Do you have that Sunday night “syndrome” ..?

Waking up every few hours or just not able to shut down and go to sleep.

Tossing and turning ….. just cannot get comfortable.

I seem to have that ……

More or less Sunday nights have always been an issue for me.

I don’t consciously think about Monday morning but somewhere in my brain I must.

Something happens.

I have tried lots of things and find at 56 I am still not sleeping great on Sunday nights.

It is funny though as Alvin and I get up extra early and usually spend a few minutes on the sofa, I can always fall asleep there.

Thank goodness for that.

Well on the up side the sun is shining with promise to be a beautiful day.

If you have any ideas for Sunday night sleeping or just want to comment, please do so.

I am curious if there are many others who share this.

I hope that you all have a wonderful day.

To all the Mothers out there I hope that you indeed had a great Sunday.

Special Hello to: my sisters ….. my friends ….. all the Mothers …… keep up the great work.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day….

Good Morning and Welcome to Saturday the 24th day of August, 2013.

One day before my Mother’s Birthday.

She passed twenty years ago this November.

She would have been “75” tomorrow.

It is funny I cannot imagine her old.

I miss her.

She had the best sense of humour and a bit “raw” at times but definitely a funny lady.

My Mom had the biggest heart and would have given the shirt from her back, and very often she did.

It didn’t matter who you were or what you did she helped those in need.

I think it was the “underdog” – those who didn’t have anyone else that she felt it necessary to help.

She had the best work ethic of anyone I know living or passed.

My Mother worked hard every day of her shortened life.

Although we didn’t always see eye to eye (me being the eldest) – our relationship worked on a different level.

She often referred to me as her “little sister” and that is sometimes what I felt like in comparison to my siblings.

But that is okay.  I know she loved me and that is truly what counts.

I learned to work hard and help others from her and for that I am truly thankful.

She was taken from us at the early age of “55”.

It is odd I turned “56” this August – only a couple of weeks ago.

I wished that everyone had someone who was a truly good “ANGEL” in their lives.

Someone to help – someone to love …

Happy Birthday Mom – We miss you.

I know wherever you are that you are entertaining and helping out where needed.

My Mom and Me

Happy Birthday Mom

Special Hello: to all the Mothers out there passed and present, thank you.

Thought for the day….

Good Morning and Welcome to Friday which is the 8th of March, 2013.

I believe that today is the celebration of WOMEN worldwide.

So for all the Mothers, Grandmothers, Sisters, Daughters, Aunts, Nieces, Great-Nieces and Friends out there – YOU ROCK.

We are all amazing, worthy and deserving.

So take the time on this Friday to celebrate the special women in your life.

Tell them THANK YOU.

Manners are beginning to become a lost art form just as is handwriting.

So on this very special day ….. in honour of my Grandmother who was instrumental in teaching me one of the most important things in life that you would ever learn … “MANNERS” ….

She was so right.

I in turn passed them onto my daughter and any other child that comes within my reach.

So to my sister “thank you for always being my rock” and listening.

To my daughter “one of the kindest and most gentle people on the planet” … I am so proud of you.

To my nieces “thank you for being such great girls ….. loving, kind and so smart”…..

To my Aunt L thank you for always remembering me, us.

There are so many women in my life that have made a huge impact that I am not able to write them all down in the timeframe ahead of me.

Also to Mrs. Taylor – my first grade teacher – she was so great.

Also to Mrs. Callfas … my best friend’s Mom and also one of my elementary school teachers …. so kind and wonderful and firm….such great memories.

Happy Friday LADIES.

Special Hello: to WOMEN.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Happy Mother’s Day

I want to tell everyone that may not know or be aware that I have the best daughter on the planet.  Truly she is.  Amanda is warm, charming, loving, giving, compassionate, intelligent, artistic, creative,  and above all else LOVES HER MOTHER !!!

With Mother’s Day just around the corner, I thought that I would share some things with all of you.  My daughter,  really does love me.  We are best friends.  We love the same things.  Like shopping, movies, television, photography, jewellery, purses, puppies, and books.  I am truly the luckiest Mother on the planet.  Now if Al (Alvin) just felt the same.

I want to wish every Mother out there – a very Happy & Special Mother’s Day.

To all the children out there – make sure that you tell your Mothers that you LOVE THEM.  Treat them with the love and respect  that they so richly deserve.  Remember they changed your diapers, read you books, made your Halloween costumes, put band-aids on your “boo boos”, made cupcakes or cookies for the school bake sale,  and were always there when you needed a friend.  Trust me no one else on the planet would be changing your poopy diapers at 3:00 a.m. unless they were your Mother.  Okay, not to offend the Dads out there …… but really mostly the Moms are changing those smelly diapers in the middle of the night.

So CHEERS to all the Moms out there, have a great Mother’s Day weekend.

You deserve nothing but the absolute BEST.

Take Care.  Live Life to the fullest.

Thank you Amanda for being such a great daughter.

HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY TO ALL THE MOTHERS OUT THERE !!

“Dear Mom”

Dear Mom,

Sitting here thinking back,

One moment ago,

Sometimes only days, then back a dozen years.

The memories flood on in,

There were happy times and sad,

Crazy wonderful and bad.

I think of all the voices of family and friends, chattering in my head.

Everyone has a special story, a thought for me to hear.

How hard it is to say that last good-bye.

I remember your laughter, your firmness and the way you spoke your mind.

The Love you shared with others, your charm, that wit, that mind!

We will always wonder, why your time with us was short.

But you gave us all love and understanding, you always believed in us.

Pointed us in the right direction.

Then quietly and quickly moved on,  to watch down over us – our Guardian Angel!

There will never be another “Jeannie”, another “Granny”, another Mom, another Friend like you.

Mom, there is no doubt in my mind that you were one of a kind!

You touched so many hearts that is evident by the stories I have heard,

and by the tears that have and will be shed.

Mom,

No one Loved You More

No one Loved You Better

We all Love You the Same.

Written by Carol Lewis (November 1993) to honour our  “Mother” who passed away in November of 1993.

I miss my Mom and think of her often.  When I think about how easy it is to communicate with family and friends who live at a distance, I am utterly amazed.  It would have been so great if back in 1993, and prior we could have sat down at the computer and SKYPED each other.  So if you are thinking about me or your Mom or your best friend, and they live at a distance, take advantage of the free download and start to SKYPE.  Between Facebook, E-mail, and SKYPE there is no reason to miss out on the days and years of our loved ones.  Post some photos.  Send some love.  Stay in contact.   To all my friends and family out there, I love you and think of each and every one of you each and every day.  Really I do.  I send my love and thoughts of good health and abundance.  Take care everyone…..
