Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Monday the 24th day of July, 2017.

Well less than two weeks until my sister arrives.

I spent the weekend getting the house ready and some time in the yard.

I am so blessed that my neighbour and I split the grass mowing and also snow shovelling in the winter.

She is wonderful and I am blessed to have such a great neighbour.

We work together and that is the way it should be.

Alvin loves her and that is a must …..

We had quite the storm last night.

Lots of thunder and lightning and some rain.

Definitely not as bad as it could have been.

The sky is clearing but there is forecast for a rainy Monday so time will tell.

Good to have the moisture and I only hope that British Columbia has received some moisture.

More fires reported to have started ….

Alvin and I had a walk in the morning which was great as there were storm warnings out in the evening.

So here we go another work week ….. just two until vacation.

I am so excited there are no words.

It will be great to have some time off from work.

YAY …… time to visit, relax and have fun.

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Saturday the 6th day of May, 2017.

Another gorgeous morning here in Edmonton.

The sun is shining and the day has more than begun.

Feeling a bit lazy and wanted to stay in bed or actually I had been directed to the sofa BUT Mr. Alvin had something else in mind.

He let out little barks not even barks actually, until I got up.

Alvin will not let me stay in bed past a certain time.

Not sure why.

Well actually part of it is that he likes to lay down on the spot that I was on.

Crazy guy.

But thankfully I am up as I have LOTS to do.

When you are the only one in the household all the chores both inside and outside are yours to do.

Not complaining as it was my choice to buy a house (which I love).

There is always the first couple of weeks getting everything in order outside before it is just maintaining over the summer.

Soon the grass will need to be mowed.

The flower beds need to be watered.

I want to wash down the deck and then put out the furniture.

Wash down the house as well.

Then at some point closer to June purchase some flowers.

There is a small piece of siding at the back of the house that needs to be tacked back down.

Unfortunately it is on the second floor so I need a taller ladder so I will borrow one and get that done.

I have asked to borrow one so will do that over the next couple of weeks.

Just have to wait until I have someone to hold the ladder and to give instructions as I have not repaired siding.

So as a homeowner there is always lots to do.

But it is fun ….. at the end of the day.

It is like most things in life …. sometimes we grumble just a bit during the ride but we are happy when we have arrived.

Right….

Well I must get to it ….. Alvin certainly is not going to change the bedding or start the laundry.

He is good company as I go about my chores.

I am most grateful that I have a Saturday to have …..

It is a good day to be alive.

It is great to be here, now.

I am looking forward to having the deck covered in flowers.

Also my perennials in the front bed are coming up ….. there be green in that bed.

I am so excited for that …..

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Sunday the 31st day of August, 2016.

It is a beautiful morning and already quite warm but thankfully there is a breeze.

Last day of July 2016.

Crazy how fast the summer seems to go.

We just arrived back from a walk and while we were out bumped into our neighbours “I” and “N” out for a stroll.

Of course, we stopped and chatted for a bit before continuing on our way home.

They were on their way out and we were on our way in.

The garage sale yesterday would be considered a hit.

Lots of people and we all sold a reasonable amount of things and even made some cash to boot.

This is the last sale that I will be having for a while.

I think that I have had four or five this summer.

Summer is precious so next year if I have one it will be ONE.

The clouds are rolling in to the south.

They have forecasted rain for today so I am happy that we were able to get our walk in already just in case.

You never know with the weather.

Well today will be a quiet one.

I will just do some laundry and perhaps decided what jobs need to be done over my vacation.

Once it stops raining I will mow the grass as it is so tall again.

With all the rain it just grows like mad.

Well time to go as I just got up and took Alvin for a walk without having breakfast (he ate of course).

We stayed resting on the sofa for awhile as I just was feeling lazy.
