Thought for the day ….

Good Morning and Welcome to Tuesday the 16th day of October, 2018.

Another beautiful day on the way.

So gorgeous yesterday and tomorrow will take the prize at +18 degrees celsius.

YAY, we have fall, we are so HAPPY.

Doing a little jig ….

Doing a little happy dance…

Quick story about Mr. Alvin.

Yesterday my daughter had the day off and stopped by the house to pick up a couple of things.

When Alvin saw her coming I guess he started to quiver and shake.

My daughter said that he was so anxious.

She tried to feed him (as it was later in the afternoon and I was catching the bus home) but no luck.

She picked him up as he would not go outside to pee.

He likely thought that she was taking him in the car.

Without me at home, he panicked.

He does not love the car ride.

He does not like the car ride.

He barely tolerates the car ride.

He loves to be at home.

Poor boy.

When I arrived home a little bit later, he was fine.

I would never had know he had been in that state (unless my daughter told me).

That’s okay Mr. Alvin we will just stay at home.

I have been doing a lot of reading as of late.

Back to doing what I love and I love to read.

I came across this line and I think it to be true in a lot of situations.

Sometimes all you have to do is shift your perspective to see someone else’s truth.”

Is that not the best line ever.

Or one of them anyway.

Love that line.

So here in Edmonton, life is pretty great.

Alvin and I are enjoying our walks in the evening.

Work is busy but I am grateful to be employed and able to pay my mortgage.

Always good to have food in the fridge and heat in the house.

I am very grateful to have the best family and friends.

So grateful that I have my life.

Have a great Tuesday.

Special Hello to: my sister ….. you are the best sister ever.

Always, Carol & Alvin

P.S. so grateful to be carpooling most days to work.

COUNTDOWN: 60 Days to 60

Today is Monday, July 31st, 2017 and it is the 10th day until my 60th Birthday.

Favourite Birthday Gift EVER:  ……

I am so blessed to say this is very difficult to say.

If I had to choose just one I would say that it was photograph(s) my daughter took capturing the pink blossoms of a cherry tree in their yard.  Instead of having the photo(s) framed in traditional frame(s), she had

them cut into different size rectangles making a collage of gallery wrapped photos.  They fit in a corner wall in my kitchen and I can see the beautiful blossoms all year long.

Sorry I started looking through 28,000 + photos to find one of this gorgeous artwork and could not find one.

So I will take some photos later and post them for you all to see.

I am so proud of my daughter who is one of the most talented photographers.

Getting closer to that day …… honestly I am a bit nervous.

Always, Carol

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Sunday the 13th day of September, 2015.

It is a great morning here in Edmonton.

The skies were overcast but are now clearing as the morning progresses.

Today is an exciting day for me as this afternoon I will hold my very first tea party as an consultant for Steeped Tea.

My training party was in August and I have my leader, “C” with me so she did all of the work so today it is all me.

I have read over the training information.

I have read all about all the different kinds of teas.

The guest catalogues/order forms and pens are ready to go.

I have placed samples out and some of the other products that we sell.

My tea pots are ready to be used.

The teas have been chosen by the Hostess.

I have placed on the table some tea plates, tea cups and saucers and glasses.

In case you have not guessed I will “host” the party as far as the venue and dishes go and the hostess will bring over a treat for the guests.  Nice and breezy easy for the hostess.

The house is pretty much clean.

Just the last minute sweep/vacuum the floor …. quick dust ….

I am excited and perhaps a little bit nervous.

There is so much information and I just want to do a great job.

Well I am going to enjoy my cup of coffee and get ready.

I am just going to wear a skirt and top so I will be comfortable getting ready now.

The only component I am a bit concerned about is Mr. Alvin ….

He knows a couple of the people so he will definitely be excited.

I did have a chat with him because I know that he will be wanting to visit and see everyone.

Hopefully he will bring it down a notch …. just friendly not FRIENDLY.

Oh, my boy.

Well I had better go.

I have a couple of things to do of course even though there are almost four hours until start time.

Wish me luck.

I know it will be a great tea parTEA.

Have a great Sunday everyone.

I will let you know how it goes.

Special Hello to: my Daughter who helps her Momma so much ….. thank you for the help with my Steeped Tea website.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day….

Good Morning and Welcome to Saturday the 22nd day of March, 2014.

Well today is the big day – our very first Trade Show with our Dear Stella Jewellery.

I am nervous and excited.

I want to be more excited but I am a little afraid to go downstairs this morning.

Alvin slept at his sister’s house as I was at work last night and I do not know if that rogue mouse was captured or not.

I only wished they would leave me house.

Perhaps they could go and visit another family.

I really need it to leave.

On the up side as I look out my office window the sunrise is beautiful …. such glorious colours.

I do love this time of day.

It is so quiet, too.

Okay put on my brave face and perhaps after I get dressed my boots ….. for some reason putting on my boots gives me a certain sense of security.

A little bit anyway.

Okay time to go.

Wish me luck on all fronts.

Have a great Saturday.

Get out there and do the things you love.

Special Hello to all those folks trying things for the first time ….. you go.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Mowing & Raking the grass with Alvin !!

Doesn’t everyone mow and rake their lawn while holding their puppy on their leash??  Okay, so perhaps not.  I was out mowing the lawns and Alvin was sitting on the floor resting his head on the window sill of the living room window.  He looked so forlorn.  I knew that he really wanted to be out there with me but I thought it would be too much work.  So I carried on.  Finally it got to me, I was done most of the mowing and just doing the raking so figured I could handle a dog on a leash and the rake.  After all, I have two arms & two hands right !  So I went into the house and called him, he was pretty much at the door when he heard the key in the lock.  As of the last I do not know how long, Sir Alvin has decided that when it is time to go for a walk that he will just go and hide under the kitchen table.  Why, you might ask?  Because he doesn’t want to put on his harness.  It makes a loud clicking noise.  He is a bit nervous about it and I do not why exactly why.  So anyway, I decided to just grab the leash and harness and called him to come out onto the step (which he did, easily) and there I put on his harness & leash.

With the rake in one hand and Alvin on the leash in the other, I proceeded to rake the lawn.  It really wasn’t easy as he wanted to go see if Aussie the cat (next door), was sitting in the window.   She wasn’t there.  It was fun for awhile until he decided to start chewing on his leash.  At that point, I decided “it was time” for Alvin to go back into the house.  He had a bit of a break and helped his Mom with the raking and mowing.  By the way, have you ever tried to mow the grass while holding a puppy on a leash.  It gives a whole new meaning to “mowing the grass” ….  LOL.

The lawns look great and we both had some fresh air and exercise.

Happy Day ……..
