Thought for the day…..

Good Morning and Welcome to Tuesday, November 20th, 2012.

Thank goodness life is back to being great ….. only a few minutes here and there of being less than stellar but I AM BACK.

It truly takes a lot of steam out of a person when you are not feeling your 100% best self.

I think it takes less energy to feel great …..

Yesterday morning just after I finished writing here I went onto FB to just check out what was new with everyone quickly.

I do this every morning after I write on my blog.

There was one short video clip about this two-year old boy that was dancing to an Elvis tune at what appeared to be a wedding dance.

He truly had the moves and you could tell that the more his “audience” cheered, clapped and laughed the more he performed.

I laughed and felt so amazing ….. children had this way.

Now Mr. Alvin needs to go out so this will be cut short.

I hope that you all have a great day.

Take care and remember to “laugh” or “giggle” here and there …… even if it is to yourself.

You will feel so much better, I did, I do.

Thank you for reading my blog and making my day.

I really appreciate it.

Special Hello to:  “YOU”

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day…….

I am on a quest to meet new people.  It all started on March 30th, 2009 when I moved into my new house in the beautiful City of Edmonton.

I am pleased to report that I am meeting new people on a very regular basis.  Which is almost everyday.

There are so many wonderful people in my new neighbourhood, that I feel very blessed.

So my thought for the day ……. GO MEET SOMEONE NEW………

Meeting new people is good for the HEART, MIND, BODY & SOUL.

Have a great day.

Always, Carol

P.S.  Thank you my Sister for saving the butterfly ……… KIND !!!

Thought for the day…….

Remember to say hello or perhaps strike up a conversation with the people that you meet when you are walking down the street.

I met another one of my neighbours this afternoon while taking Alvin for a walk.

Guess what, she is from Saskatchewan and grew up by Estevan and lived in Stoughton and knew my birthplace Corning. So exciting….

You never know what treats you will receive when you just say Hello.

So be friendly, smile and get to know people.  I think you will be pleasantly surprised.  I know I love meeting people.

I love to engage people when I am out and about.  Even if it is only a Hello and a Smile …….  🙂

Try Something NEW !!!

Sometimes, I am a bit hesitant to try new things.  But not in the kitchen.  I love mixing and blending and making something new. My daughter planned to come for supper, and watch “Survivor”.  We are total Survivor nuts.  I have only missed two episodes in the 20 seasons that it has been on the air.  I decided to make lasagne for the main course, and a cake from scratch for dessert.  I couldn’t find the lasagne recipe that I used to use (incidentally it has been years since I made lasagne).  So decided to check the internet.  Too many choices.  Overwhelming.  So I pulled out my cookbooks.  Do you use your cookbooks?  I found one that was given to me by a girl friend back in Regina (thanks Barb).  It became the base for my recipe.  I decided to make a new one, recipe that is….  There was some good information on the lasagne noodle box as well.  So I had an excellent base.  Anyway, it was a BIG hit.  My daughter loved it.  I sent some home for lunches tomorrow, and another meal.  Now just to write it all down.  I am notorious for coming up with new recipes, and not writing them down.  Because we all know (from past experience) that we will not remember come the next time !!!

Dessert was this BANANA CHOCOLATE CHUNK CAKE …… took a recipe and made it my own.  Not your typical low cal dessert but another hit.  YUMMY.

So I promise to write these recipes down so that you can try them.  I promise your family will love them.

Always remember to try something new.  New recipe.  New walking path.  New coffee blend.  Just something new.
