The New Year 2022

Good Morning ALL! How are you this morning? Alvin and I are doing great. I had a wonderful Mother’s Day yesterday. My daughter picked me up in the late morning so that we could arrive at Creekside Nursery & Garden when it opened. Wow, did it ever get busy fast. Initially we both thought that we would just look and pick up maybe the odd flower as it is too early to plant. Well that did not last long. By the time we got to the check-out our cart was filled to the brim, no room left for even the smallest container. I also picked up a cream coloured ceramic flower pot, three bags of potting soil, gardening gloves, fertilizer, and some plants which included tomatoes, greek oregano ( I did not know there was such a thing), begonias, violas, pansies and impatiens and lavender.

The photos are all from home except for the first two and the stock photo.

My kitchen looks amazing. I will keep the plants inside until it is warmer to plant them. What a gorgeous workspace. My happy place. I apologize for the slightly blurry photos as they looked clear when I snapped them.

I hope that your Mother’s Day was awesome.

Well it is almost time to head downstairs. Get this Monday started.

Alvin and I had a quiet Mother’s Day evening which suited me fine.

The sun is shining this morning, there is a breeze, buds on the trees and even small small leaves on some of the trees.

Feels like almost summer now that I have my flowers.

Happy Days ahead.

Have a fantastic day.

Happy Monday.

I am so grateful for such a great Mother’s Day with my daughter, grateful for all the beautiful plants I was able to purchase, grateful to be alive, grateful for my darling Alvin and my son-in-law and my grandpups. Thank you for this great life.

Continuing to live this life with kindness, respect, compassion, patience, love, laughter, understanding, gratitude, focus and possibilities.

Always, Carol & AL

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to May 31st the last day of May, 2015.

It is bright and sunny this morning.

Last night about midnight I was awaken by the sound of thunder and the bright light of lightning.

YAY ….. we finally got some rain.

The grass is a brilliant green this morning after Mother Nature’s elixir.

Even my flowers appeared to have grown an inch or so this morning.

We are happy happy happy here.

To top this amazing morning off ….. my daughter is coming for pancakes followed by a trip to the Dunvegan Nursery.

We are going to get some flowers to fill my front flower garden and perhaps another pot or two ……

YAY ……

This is a great day.

Yesterday was amazing …… slight change of plans but a great one.

Well time to go and start those pancakes and clean up some fruit ….

Oh and PUT on the COFFEE …..

A Momma needs her morning coffee.

I hope that you are having the most glorious morning ever.

Life is wonderful ….. I am so blessed and hope you are as well.

Tomorrow is June ….. more great things to come.

Special Hello to: all those lovers of flowers …..

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day……

Good Morning and Welcome to Sunday the 29th day of March, 2015.

WOW, only two days left in March.

This morning the sun is shining ever so brightly.

The sky is clear.

The air has a slight coolness.

Happy Spring.

Just a few more days until April ….

Closer and closer to when I can go and get flowers.

Still over one month away but getting there.

Picking out flowers is probably one of my most favourite things to do.

Over the past few years it has been a spring – early summer ritual for me and my daughter.

The colours and the fragrances are so delightful.

It takes us hours to go through our neighbourhood greenhouse.

We have been going to a privately owned nursery for the past few years.

I believe in supporting our locals as much as possible.

The big box stores all have flowers and lots of times for better pricing.

I still like to support the local nurseries and greenhouses.

Mmm, this summer I will be home week nights and weekends so I will have lots to time to fuss over my flowers.

I think this may be the year that I remove the remaining shrubs in the front bed.

They always go wild on me and I think it might be nice to have some perennials out front.

Needs to be some that like to face north that is the only thing.

It is a huge bed so lots to fill and I will likely needs some dirt to top it up.

But time will tell.

Now I have time to do it all.

Dreaming of sitting on the deck under the umbrella reading a book, admiring my flowers and sipping on a cup of coffee.

Alvin will be laying in the shade or even in the sun for a bit close by.

Oo summer …. YAY.

Well time to go and catch up with my daughter before getting ready to go to the store.

This will be my third last shift.

I hope that you all have a lovely Sunday.

Special Hello to: all those people who love to plant flowers.

Always, Carol and Alvin
