Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Sunday the 16th day of April, 2017.

The sky is BLUE, a brilliant baby blue with a few streaks of white clouds.

The SUN is shining and there appears to be no wind.

Finally it has stopped snowing.

Perhaps now the sun will warm and melt the white stuff.

By the looks of things it looks like winter not spring.

Oh well it is mid April and summer is definitely right around the corner.

Not really a surprise for the long weekend.

 

I guess anyone having an Easter Egg Hunt outdoors it would be interesting.

Happy Easter.

I hope that the Easter Bunny dropped off some yummy treats.

He hopped by my house this year – I guess he figured she is turning sixty this year and is too old for those treats.

I wished that he would have asked.

Oh well.

Not like I needed more chocolate or anything.  LOL.

 

So two days left of our long weekend.

I am so happy for that.

Just going to write, shower, breakfast, coffee, walk, and some odds and ends.

Alvin is waiting patiently outside the office door for me to go downstairs.

So I had better go.

Good Morning and Welcome to Saturday the 13th day of August, 2016.

It is a bright and sunny morning and once again the air at this time has a coolness to it.

I am munching on my toast as I write these words.

Once done, I am going to go on a walk with Mr. Alvin before it gets too warm.

Also this morning I am invited to a belated Birthday party for me.

I have the best friends.

Seems like I am having a week of celebrations and it is so nice to be loved.

Just getting together with everyone is so wonderful.

Yesterday, was the lunch with some of the Steeped Tea girls in our group.

My group leader picked me up and explained that the last two girls were not able to go so it was just me and her.

We went to a nearby restaurant and had a great lunch and visit.

 

The Universe always works things out.

Today I have a short list of things to do keeping in the back of my mind that I only have one more day left until back to work.

Oh well, it was a great vacation and so grateful that I was able to have this time at home.

Some was by myself as Alvin was away visiting at his sisters and the most was home with the guy.

 

Alvin is waiting patiently at the office door not knowing what lies in store for him.

I do not think he suspects that they are going for a walk.

Have to hustle it up as my party is in one hour.

But there is always time for the boy.

Good Morning and Welcome to Tuesday, the 2nd day of August, 2016.

Special Happy Anniversary to my nephew “T” and his wife “S” ….. 8 years already married.

Wishing you both a great day and many many more wonderful years together.

It is bright and sunny with a nice breeze.

Perfect for a walk to pick up food for Mr. Alvin.

He is out and we will go for a nice walk there for starters.

Boo hoo, I had planned to get up earlier and go for a 7:00 a.m. walk but I read too late and then feel back asleep on the sofa and had these bizarre dreams.

The kind of dreams that you have after you have eaten too much, you know those ones.

Alvin and I were living with a nice family ….. cannot remember who.

We had decided to move out not sure why.

I got us an apartment and it was downtown. Not sure why.

Then when it was almost time to move, I could not find the address and did not know what the apartment looked like.

But we had to move because I made the rent already.

It was really strange.

It was weird that I would not know where the apartment was or what it looked like ……

All the time was thinking we can always move back.

The stories that our subconscious mind come up with.

Kind of freaky for sure.

Oh well …. it is over now and I do not remember anymore.

This cutie pie is patiently waiting for his Momma.

He is not outside but waiting outside the office door.

I just love this photo.

He loves to sit on the patio furniture and  most especially when I am right beside him.

Yesterday my daughter and Elton came for a visit ….. no hot water at their house so she had a refreshing shower here.

Later in the day I did the SKYPE thing with my sister and great niece.

A lovely day all around.

Okay time to shower quick and get this show on the road.

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Thursday the 15th day of October, 2015.

Last night Alvin and I enjoyed another wonderful walk ….. a bit on the breezy side but warm.

I am so grateful for this great weather.

Mr. Alvin seems to have changed his clock already for the fall as he was ready to get up just after 3:00 a.m. this morning.

I managed to convince him to remain in bed until 4:15 a.m.

Thank goodness we were in bed by 9:15 p.m.

I guess for him he basically eats/sleeps/walks/snuggles so not a big deal for him.

Now his Momma on the other hand ….. time will tell.

I just keep telling myself I am energized everyday ……

We did go and hit the sofa for some zzz’s before I got up at 5:00 a.m.

Perhaps I need to be more firm.

Just is difficult so early in the morning.

Oh well ….. just another day in Paradise.

Right ….

Looking forward to Thursday ……

At this moment in time, I am grateful to be sitting in front of my computer keying these words, expressing myself, with Mr. Alvin laying on the floor just outside the office door, (always close by).

The only sound other than my fingertips hitting the keyboard is the sound of the furnace as it sends warm air throughout the house.

I do love the early morning quiet.

So Happy Thursday.

Thought for the day……

Good Morning and Welcome to Monday the 4th day of August, 2014.

Funny story from last night.

As you know my daughter, son-in-law and grand-puppies are living with Alvin and I for a few months while their house is being built.

Also this weekend they were away looking after my son-in-law’s niece and nephew.

Only for two nights.

Saturday night it must have taken about one hour to get everyone settled.

This was the first time that the puppies would sleep in our new bedroom and the first time since they moved in without Mom and Dad.

They all came upstairs when I said bedtime and then both Elton and Penny went back downstairs so I played catch me if you can for a bit.

Then we were all in one room …… door closed.

Penny kept walking all over the bed not wanting to settle down.

Elton really was the only one that picked a spot and laid down.

Alvin up down looking out the window.

It felt like we were playing a board game.

Eventually we got to sleep.

Cut to last night.

I worked at the store until 6 and then caught the bus home.

My daughter and son-in-law had brought the kids over to see the dogs so they had a break in the afternoon.

I took Alvin for a walk first and then Elton and Penny before bed.

Thinking it would tire them out.

WE did our regular bedtime routine.

I then call them upstairs to bed.

One, two and three all upstairs.

I had turned off the air conditioning because I really don’t like to run it all day and all night.

It was warm upstairs.

Penny and Alvin went into my daughter’s room and jumped up onto the bed.

Elton then went in and of course needed a hand getting up onto the bed, so I helped him up.

Thinking it would keep them calm until I had a chance to get ready for bed.

So I did my thing ….. Alvin in the meantime was bored and as I was in the bathroom came and laid outside the bathroom on the rug.

Once I was ready I called them to come to bed …… Alvin came and jumped up on the bed.

The other two no ….

So I decided to borrow their fan as it helps keep Penny from being distracted from any outside noises and also would keep us cool without the air conditioning being turned on.

I went and got the fan and rearranged things and plugged in the fan.

It felt so good.

Then I went to get the other two and Alvin went and jumped up on the bed.

I took that as clear sign that everyone wanted to sleep in the other room.

So I unplugged the fan and moved it back to the other room.

Grabbed a loose cotton sheet from the closet and closed the door to the bedroom.

Everyone seemed to settle down right away.

I read for a couple of minutes.

We had a great night’s sleep …… the phone rang once during the night and made us all jump.

Note to self: always listen to the dogs.

At this very moment: Elton is laying on his bed, Penny on the rug outside the office door and Alvin is in our bedroom with me and he is looking out the window.

There is a coolness to the air and it feels good ….

Note: Alvin at the window (a different day and now has a smart looking hair cut);  Miss Penny laying on a chair from another day and Mr. Elton definitely another day because he too is sporting a wicked good haircut.

But just wanted to share photos of them.  Of course, you know that if I went downstairs to grab my camera they would all jump up from their spots and I was not on the ball enough to think I would need it.

Woo, time for coffee …… wow 10:30 already ……. where did the morning go…. Have a great Monday everyone. 🙂

Wow, welcome to Tuesday, the 9th day of April 2013.

Are you smiling?

Are you ready to go forth and enjoy the next say eight hours?

Are you going to be kind in every situation?

Are you going to go the extra mile when presented with the opportunity?

Are you going to be happy in every moment?

Are you going to continue toward realizing your dreams?

Are you ready?

Are you feeling it?

I feel GREAT this morning ….. I am ready.

As I type these words my dog Alvin is laying in the hallway outside my office door and watching me …… I know that he wants to go downstairs and “out”…. to finish his “morning constitution.”

So I shall have to keep this short …… not fair to keep the “MR” waiting …..  I know how that feels.

So on this great clear blue skied Edmonton morning …… I hope that you have the best day of your life.

Give it your all …. be happy …. be kind ….. live your life.

Beside that is what it is all about.

Even if you are not exactly where you wish to be ….. do your best ….. make it wonderful.

Thought for the day……

Good Monday, January 16th, 2012 morning ……

Alvin is sitting by the office door and making little squeaky / whiny noises ….. I sure wished that he could talk…..

I do not know what he needs…..

I guess he wanted up in my lap…..

By a few little noises and movements …. we figured it out.

There are many times that I wished that he could talk.

I wonder what he would say?

Would he think that I was good to him?

Or would he think that I wished you were home more.

Or perhaps that he was happy and has such a great life.

Maybe he would like more bananas in the morning or broccoli at supper time.

I would like to think that he is happy living here with me….

I love this little guy so much and he is such a great companion.

Perhaps someday I will understand his “language” and that would be great.

If only there were classes one could take to understand “the language of dogs” …..
