Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Monday the 31st day of December, 2018.

The last day of December and the last day of the year 2018.

WOW, what a year – 2018.

Right.

The world has struggled to come up with a game plan regarding the environment or at least one that ALL countries will join.

Wars, struggles and strife continue all over the world.

We have listened to the rants and raves of leaders.

Weather has been off the charts this past year between fires, floods, hurricanes and tsunamis.

Even at home there has been peaceful conflict between those who want the pipeline built and those who do not.

There have been advances and disadvantages.

We have lost dear ones.

Babies have been born.

For me, I continue to work, to be employed.

At a time where jobs are held dear.

I am most grateful to be employed.

I am grateful to have supportive family and friends.

I am grateful that despite the recent political atmosphere I/We live in a peaceful country.

I am grateful to have clean drinking water.

I am grateful that I can write and am not shut down for voicing my opinions.

I am grateful that Alvin and I are in good health.

I am grateful that I am able to live in a home/house that I can call my own.

I am grateful that I can see, hear, smell, taste and touch.

I am grateful for books, music and nature.

I am grateful that I can make a difference – should I choose.

I am grateful to be me.

I am grateful that during the last eleven days of this year that I was able to visit with my cousins and many friends.

To be surrounded by good people is the best feeling ever.

A great way to end the year.

For the New Year, I simply wish that all nations would come together peacefully to solve or at least begin to resolve the damage done to our beloved environment.

Let us hope that it is not too late.

Our environment is like our own personal good health; without it, we will perish or at least live very restricted lives.

I know that this sounds like a doom and gloom post but sometimes we have to dig our heads out of the sand and speak up.

There is a break in the clouds this morning.

The sky is no longer white.

The sky is filled with dark blue clouds which I can see clear blue sky.

There is hope that we will have sunshine today.

I wish HOPE for everyone – everywhere.

I wish SUNSHINE for everyone – everywhere.

Happy New Year.

Happy 2019.

Special Hello to: all of my family and friends, wishing you all a very Happy New Year.

Thought for the day ….

Good Morning and Welcome to Thursday the 18th day of October, 2018.

Dark outside, guess we have to get used to it once again.

It will be several months before we see light at this time of day.

But that is okay.

Everything is equal in the darkness.

Meaning you can not see anything so everything is equal.

No divisions or egos or opinions to get in the way in the dark.

What you cannot see, still is, but is equal until it is not.

Isn’t that funny?

Strange thought?

We place too many labels on people, things, and situations.

We place too much stress on ourselves and then onto others.

We need to relax and just be.

Do your job.

Write your book.

Live your dreams.

One moment at a time.

Just breathe.

See the darkness not for what it is but what it can be.

Meaning the light will come and then you can see things as they are.

This morning once again Mr. Alvin in his way gave me a very important moment.

In the bathroom (no details) and he wanted me to massage his neck.

He sits there enjoying the moment.

Then he stands up and wants me to massage his back and upper tail area.

Okay upper bum area ….. but his tail ….. anyway.

He is loving it.

Quietly standing.

Then after I am finished.

He stands up on his hind legs and gives me kisses.

Something that only takes a few minutes clearly made him feel good.

It is those little things that make us feel amazing.

Good for him and good for me.

Well almost time to leave for work.

My carpool is home sick for another day.

Sending good health energy her way.

I hope that you all have a great day.

I may not always say it but I appreciate you all.

My family and oh my friends.

I have the best friends on the planet.

My sister is second to none.

My brothers, I love them.

All the nephews and nieces and cousins, thank you.

I am grateful to have my own home.

I am grateful to have the best companion, Mr. Alvin.

I am grateful to be creative and to have employment.

I am grateful to see, hear, smell and to touch.

I am grateful for all the experiences of each day.

I am grateful for my life.

Special Hello to: my sister, thank you for your wonderful comments and for reading my blog every day.  Have a great Thursday.

Always, Carol & Alvin

PS: yesterday was so beautiful.  Wore capris and short sleeved t-shirt on our walk after work.  WE LOVED THE WALK. Still some beautifully coloured leaves remaining on some of the trees.

Still some green leaves.  Grass is green.  Loved hearing Mr. Alvin crunching the leaves as we walked along.

Thought for the day……

Good Morning and Welcome to Saturday the 9th day of August, 2014 and my “57th” BIRTHDAY.

The sun is shining and there is a cool breeze coming in through the office/bedroom window.

Just back from driving my neighbour to the airport as she is going to Saskatchewan to attend a family wedding.

WOW, I AM FIFTY-SEVEN.

CRAZY ….. three years from being sixty.

Now that is crazy.

I wanted to impart some words of wisdom or maybe some fun facts about the year I was born.

But instead I shall just say what comes to my mind, as always.

I have not always been such a positive soul but I always wanted good things for others.

I always dreamed of living a life where I helped others.

I thought at one point that I would be a nurse.

I would have the house with the white picket fence and be surrounded by four children, and later grandchildren, and the husband.

Every summer we would host a big family reunion and everyone would come from far away.

We would celebrate our family and we were happy.

I always let my imagination guide and protect me when I was younger and quite possibly that is the reason why today I harbour no ill feelings to parts of my childhood.

I always love to write and create.

I always wrote in a journal and wrote poems and stories.

Somewhere on the shelf I was a writer just waiting for that moment.

My time to be that “New York Times” Best Selling Author.

Even though I am a Canadian.

I always dreamed of travelling to Australia, Europe and Hawaii.

Possibly South America.

I guess for the most part I have been pretty comfortable and at times things have been easy.

I have been disappointed in my choices.

Sometimes sad along the way.

But when I look back at my life thus far overall I am pretty content.

Content in choices, content in my own skin and content to try even though I may fail.

Success is nothing without failure.

Failure and Success are both opinions.

Like beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

We are all beautiful …… I think.

So on this day …… a day that I was pretty sure would come along but sometimes scared that it would not …. I am grateful, proud and happy to be alive.

I am grateful to be Carol.

I am grateful to be surrounded by much love and laughter.

I am grateful to have my own house …. bought on my own.

I am grateful that I have one most beautiful and amazing daughter.

I am grateful to have a son-in-law and grand-puppies.

I am grateful to have me “ALVIN” ….. a son like no other.

I am grateful to learn everyday.

I am grateful to meet new people every week.

I am grateful that I took a chance.

I am grateful that I have learned and not been afraid.

I am grateful for my past, grateful for today and grateful that tomorrow will come.

I am grateful for each and every moment.

I am grateful that today at 6:20 a.m. – I turned fifty-seven.

I am grateful for every wrinkle …. for having great genes ….. barely any wrinkles ……

I am grateful that I can see the world, smell the world, taste the world and hear all the world.

I would post a photo of me but the most recent one is from last fall.

So that will be for tomorrow …… possibly photos of birthday celebrations.

Happy Birthday to my cousin “M” who turns 47 today ….. he was born on my 10th Birthday.

That was a cool birthday.

Special Hello to: all those folks with a birthday on mine ….. or mine on yours ….. Happy Birthday also to one of my favourite television personalities “HODA KOTB,” who turns 50 today.

Always, Carol and Alvin
