Living … One day at a time.

Good Morning,

Another beautiful double digit day on the way.

Yesterday was gorgeous at  +15 degrees celsius.

Bright sunshine – just perfect.

After work once Alvin was done outside and with supper; we went for a walk.

I took my equipment with me and by that I mean a large black garbage bag and disposable gloves.

A couple of days ago or three now there was a bag of garbage strewn over a small area just inside our park; close to the trees by the water.

For two days we walked by and it was there each time.

This time I was not going to be one of the ones to go by and either think “who would do that” or just totally ignore the trash.

Not me, cannot do that.

It meant taking and using a big garbage bag and a pair of disposable gloves but my neighbourhood is important to me.

Not only did we clean that up but I filled to the brim two of Alvin’s poopy bags with small trash.

I will never understand how people can walk by and not pick it up.

Anyway, happy to report that once again the park is clean.

I noticed a few pieces of trash alongside the sidewalk closer to my house but I had run out of bags by the time I got home.

Does that not figure?

Anyway another job for this evening’s walk.

I am going to start carrying a plastic grocery bag (if I have any as I use recycled bags).

Life in the fast lane.

We thoroughly enjoyed our walk.

I was so proud of my little rockstar as he stayed out of the garbage as I was picking it up.

You see I was holding him on his leash with one hand and picking up and holding the garbage bag with the other.

I managed.

After I raked all of the leaves on the weekend and cleaned the inbetween part with the stones; everyone else’s leaves had blown all over the yard.

So last night for the third time the front lawn was raked.

Humphrey was over (had picked him up after our walk) and the boys watched me through the living room window.

I also submitted some NORWEX orders.

It was a busy night but felt good to get some chores done.

The one thing that I didn’t do was the exercises …

I have been doing some stretching exercises for the past couple of days.

Makes a difference.

Will be doing them tonight.

Oh, we met Rosie’s Dad last night.

In the early morning I met Rosie and her Mom while waiting for my ride to arrive.

I must say that Rosie is a lucky pup.

They both think the world of her, too.

Another successful RESCUE story.

I hope to hear many more.

Oh, our Humphrey boy.

He is just so cute.

Well time to fly here.

I hope that you all have an awesome day.

Remember to fill your life with kindness and respect.

One small act of kindness can change someone’s life.

I guarantee it will change yours as well.

Thought for the day ….

Good Morning and Welcome to Sunday the 29th day of July, 2018.

Happy Birthday to one of my great nephews who turns “7” today.

I will be seeing him in two sleeps along with his Grandma (my sister), his Mom and brothers.

Lots to do before they arrive.

We were up early for a Sunday.

Up at 5:00 and Alvin ate and did his business.

To the sofa until 6:30 and then we went for a walk.

The forecast is for over 30 degrees celsius today.

Makes it HOT doing housework and for walks.

After I finish this post I will settle in and clean the bathrooms and floors upstairs.

Followed by same downstairs on the main floor.

Always better to do jobs like cleaning when it is somewhat cool.

I opened all of the windows at 5:00 a.m. so was able to reduce the interior temperature from 79 to 73.

Will close the windows shortly and keep all of the blinds closed this will keep the house cool for most of the day.

The front lawn has to be mowed this morning before it gets hot but have to wait as it is wet.

Placing Steeped Tea and NORWEX orders today.

Seems like there is a lot on my TO DO LIST.

How did that happen?

I cannot believe that August is only a few days away.

WOW.

We certainly enjoyed our early morning walk.

The birds were singing their songs and a few dogs were barking in the distance.

The grass wet with dew.

The fountain was running at our pond/lakes.

So nice to hear the water running in the background.

No one was out and about – just me and Alvin.

Well I guess there is no time like the present.

Get busy and get those chores done before it gets hot.

Always a good thing to do your chores early.

Then there will time to relax when it is hot.

Perhaps watch a movie this afternoon in front of the fan.

Yesterday I gave Mr. Alvin a hair cut and bath.

He seems to fuss more and more.

Have a wonderful Sunday.

Enjoy the day.

Back to work tomorrow.

Special Hello to: my daughter who is the sunshine of my life.

Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day ……

Good Morning and Welcome to Sunday the 10th day of January, 2016.

A welcome sign this morning the sun is actually rising and the sky is somewhat clear this morning.

This winter the sky has been overcast so much that we miss seeing the sun shine.

With not having the sun shine it is actually depressing.

I know many people suffer from a type of depression when the sun does not shine from the lack of light.

Today we are good.

Yesterday was an awesome day my baby, my darling, my daughter came for a visit and surprised me and Alvin by bringing both Elton and Miss Penny along.

Our dear Penny is not the same energetic bouncy vocal girl she once was but that is what a serious disease will do to one.

Mr. Elton is in pretty good health other than his hearing and that makes for some interesting moments.

He cannot hear us and thinks we cannot hear him.

There are some things about getting old that I am not looking forward to …..

It was so great to have them all here with us and we ENJOYED IT SO MUCH.

The walls are still smiling and the air remains full of song this morning.

I made pancakes for we girls and afterwards we made jewellery.

Well actually my daughter made jewellery and I practiced making flowers.

I came up with the idea kind of in a day dream about making petals …. flowers.

Then ladies can place a drop of an essential oil on the flower ….. and it will be like having flowers with you.

Obviously you cannot just start making “flowers” to be used so it will take some practice.

I did make two and they look pretty good for the first time.

My daughter left me some clay so that I can practice.

I can tell you it is so relaxing and FUN.

In between our fun … I took a run (borrowed her car) to the grocery store.

It was a great day.

I felt like a million dollars with my family here with us.

I even managed to slip in a couple of loads of laundry throughout the day and early evening.

Alvin and I curled up on the sofa and watched a couple of movies that I had recorded and had the most relaxing evening.

The best Saturday ……

So on this Sunday there will be more laundry in my future.

I also want to call some folks and see about booking a tea party or two and secure some orders.

So phone calls also in my future.

So happy to see the sun shine.

The temperature is supposed to warm up so I can go for a walk with Mr. Alvin.

It has been a couple of very cold days so we did not go.

He did go in the back yard to bury his chew treat from time to time and take a run about.

I hope that you have a lovely Sunday ….. filled with a bit of work and relaxation time and above all LAUGHTER.

Happy Sunday.

Time for toast and coffee and perhaps banana to share with Mr. Alvin …. he is waiting.

Also share coffee with my neighbour ….. she buys the beans, I grind them and make coffee for us …. I make her a special one …. am I not the luckiest person.

I believe most days.

Special Hello to: everyone who reads my blog, thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day ….

Good Morning and Welcome to Wednesday the 26th day of August, 2015.

Wishing my nephew “T” a Happy Birthday …..

It is overcast here in Edmonton as we wait for the sunrise.

Warm the past few days as we edge into the last weeks of summer …. official ones, anyway.

Last night upon my arrival at home I found my “Steeped Tea” party items had arrived.

So spent most of the evening sorting through and packing orders.

Everything was perfect, thank goodness.

I am looking forward to trying some new teas along with the ones I have ….. so many …..

Poor Mr. Alvin missed his walk because his Momma was so busy.

Will make up for it tonight ….. we will go for a longer one.

I do love our walks ….. him sniffing about and his Momma checking out the roses and sights.

So relaxing and comforting to have such a beautiful space to go for a stroll.

My neighbour is giving me a ride to work this morning because of the tea orders to be delivered to my office.

I am so grateful for her.

She is such a ray of sunshine ….. a really good person.

I am so blessed to be surrounded by good people.

How did I become so lucky?

Mmmmm …. not sure but I am grateful nonetheless.

Mr. Alvin is standing behind me and I am not sure what he is up to????

What a guy?

I sure love him.

Now he is sitting in his half “pike” position ….. sitting on his haunches …. now he is laying down and looking at me.

So cute ….. he is such good, no GREAT company.

I hope that on this mid week day you are feeling as energized as you were on Monday.

Perhaps you are just on your way to work or maybe you are lucky and are retired and are on your way for a walk.

No matter what you are doing – I wish you a great, great day.

May sunshine and rainbows follow you every moment of today and always.

Take care my friends …..

Special Hello to: all those people with birthdays today ….. I personally know so many with August birthdays…. YAY.

Always, Carol and Alvin
