2021

Good Morning ALL! We are officially one sleep away from Christmas EVE. I am so excited. Feeling, I must admit like a small child excitedly awaiting the arrival of SANTA CLAUS. Do you remember when you were a child at Christmas time? I understand that not all of us had the same experiences. Good or bad or indifferent. For me, I remember putting on Christmas concerts with my siblings for my parents and grandparents. I loved going to the Christmas Concerns at church, the music was my favourite part. We sang “Joy to the World” and “Silent Night” (which was my favorite all time Christmas song). I guess it was the innocence of things at that moment in time. The feelings that were in the air no matter what was happening in your household at the time, if you went elsewhere there was joy, simple absolute joy. You just felt it. I felt it. I wish everyone, everywhere whether you celebrate Christmas or not, I wish you the “joy” that we all should feel in our lives every day.

Well Miss Cookie is settling in, I would say. We had a great sleep. Everyone cooperated. Even Mr. Alvin. Last night my friend Pauline popped in to Wish Us a Merry Christmas and we exchanged gifts. I gave her a beautiful tea cup and saucer which she loved and she gave me the most glorious little tree with lights in a teacup surrounded by two pups ornament. Hard to explain but it is so sweet, I absolutely love it. She said when she saw it – it reminded her or me. As I sold Tea, (cup), loved Christmas (the tree with lights) and loved dogs (pups by the tree). How thoughtful. It is my new favorite ornament. Poor Miss Cookie was so wound up and it was loud so we could not have much of a conversation, we tried. I even held Cookie to calm her down. She was running, biting and just being annoying. I almost thought she was jealous of me having company! Just a few minutes after Pauline left, both pups laid down on the sofa and were quiet. WOW. Another mystery of the world. I was happy and grateful to have time with my friend no matter what was going on. I miss our walks and our great chats. She is a wonderful friend. I do have the best friends. Hopefully will get to see more of them in 2022.

Well time to get on downstairs and see what the munchkin “Cookie” is up to. WE all know exactly where Mr. Alvin is.

I wish you a sparkly, happy, fun, joyful, happy, healthy, wonderful, fantastic Thursday, December 23, 2021. Have a great day!

Continuing to live this life with kindness, respect, compassion, patience, love, laughter, understanding and gratitude.

Always, Carol, Alvin and Cookie

P.S. I have my fingers crossed that the skies stay clear and the snow stays away. There is more shovelling to do again. I have to shovel the driveway which I forgot to do yesterday, argh. lol.

Living … One day at a time.

Good Morning and it is Tuesday on this dark not so cold morning.

I snapped some photos on the way to work yesterday morning.

The sky was amazing but I am not too sure that the photos reflect the beauty.

I am still learning how to work my phone camera and one day I hope to be proficient.

Always easier during the daylight but dark is tricky.

Also Alvin had his appointment right after work.

We made it early to the appointment.

YAY for us.

He had the usual done and all is well.

He only fussed about the front nails being trimmed and not quite as vocal as usual.

Alvin spotted the 2020 SCARS Calendars for purchase on the counter.

He has good vision.

So we picked up one of those.

Second Chance Animal Rescue Society.

They are the great group of folks that helped to rescue my Alvin.

I am forever grateful to them.

Maybe one year he could be on the calendar as a success story.

I should contact them.

Alvin’s Doctor had this Christmas Tree on the wall made out of paper complete with special decorations.

We were told that each decorations had a prize and they were $2.00 each.

Fundraiser.

Alvin and I love to support so we purchased a few ornaments and won some cute prizes.

We decided that we should share his prizes with his niece, nephew and his friends.

So we will at Christmas.

Also there were some beautiful Christmas ornaments hanging on a display.

Found out that our Doctor is multi talented.

She made them.

I absolutely loved them.

They were part of the prizes but alas I did not win one.

But as I loved them so much ….. Dr. Karen let me pick one out.

The first photo looks like a tree is growing out of the new apartment building.

Always room for improvement.

Inside a vehicle.

The last photo …. I just realize not a great shot is of the ornaments.

So pretty.

Well I am running a tad late.

Time to fly.

Have an awesome day.

Happy Tuesday.

Filled with Kindness and Respect.

Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day ….

Good Morning and Welcome to Sunday the 20th day of September, 2015.

Three more days until it is officially fall, September 23rd.

There was no rain when Alvin and I were first up at 4:30 a.m. ….. I have an early bird for a household companion.

Woe is me …… well actually not, because he does lay down after he goes outside and eats breakfast.

Now it has been raining for a few hours not exactly sure how many.

I am so grateful that I spent the time outside yesterday doing yard work.

Mowed the front including my neighbours and the back.

Raked it all including some leaves that have turned and fallen.

Pulled flowers and cleaned out some of the “13” flower pots that I planted.

The impatiens out in the front flower bed are doing well thus far so I left them.

Also left some of the pots out back as they were doing well.

Rearranged and tidied up the garage.

Pulled some weeds between our garages and our houses.

Watered the remaining flowers …..

Even enjoyed a snack and coffee on the deck in the sunshine.

It was fabulous.  So nice.

Back inside: I finally rearranged the basement (after the dry wall now complete); did six loads of laundry, vacuumed and dusted and bathroom…… whew.

Closet in the office will have to wait for another day……

Alvin was outside this morning and he was looking up and barking.

He barked for a few minutes before I figured out what he was barking about ….. it was the lily pad ornament and piece of rock that I had set up on the railing by the garage but had forgot to put away inside.

Mr. Alvin reminded me to put it away …… a bit late but better late than never, right.

What a guy.

I am going to whip up a batch of pancakes.

My daughter is coming for a visit this afternoon and we will have pancakes for a snack/late lunch.

Alvin gets another haircut and bath.

Seems like I just cut his hair …. yes, only a few weeks ago.

Later when my friend finishes her Steeped Party sales I will enter them and submit the party.

I also have to run out for a couple of errands at the store / drugstore.

Then after supper I am going to simply relax and watch some of the new fall line-up.

I hope that you are having a great Sunday and make sure that you take the time to relax.

So important to your well being.

I know sometimes if you are the only one that does the house work, outdoor stuff, you work, children and or pets, part-time job, and whatever else you may have on your plate or all of the above…… taking the time to RELAX does not feel like an option but you must.  If you are not well then none of those things will get done.

Well it is time for this gal to get the show on the road ….. whip up the pancakes and make them so just have to warm them up….. so easy peasy.

Then cutting Mr. Alvin’s hair well that is not exactly the easiest most especially his paws.

But I will do my best as always.

Happy Sunday.

Special Hello to: all the inhabitants on the this planet whether two or four-legged, fish or fowl … Hello.

Not to forget the Ants, LadyBugs, Dragonflies and such.

Always, Carol and Alvin
