It is a NEW YEAR.

Good Monday Morning,

Happy Birthday to my friend who has always been like an older sister, L.

We are wishing you a day of full of sweet surprises and perhaps even a delectable birthday cake.

Well folks it is raining here in Edmonton.

The rain is washing the earth nicely.

Along with the earth, plants and trees; I noticed that the neighbours across the street are going to be needing to paint their fence, shortly.

Likely the paint was peeling but now it is noticeable.

It will be time to paint my fence but that will be next summer as this summer we are getting it fixed.

The fence that separates me and my neighbour in the duplex is leaning due to one of the posts.

Not the whole fence just a section.

But it gets a bit tricky as I have a deck on my side that is right up to and touching the fence and on the other side they have a raised garden up against the fence with

no retaining wall.

No one thought of it at the time.

The whole backyard is done in stone.

It really is beautiful.

So we have someone coming to check it out and give us an estimate.

It has to be fixed.

This young man is the grandson of my good friends down the street.

I will he will be honest and forthright.

He is popping by this afternoon to take a peek.

Hopefully it has stopped raining by then.

Oh, my backyard is nice and sopping wet.

Perhaps it is more wet under the grass that one may have first thought, meaning me.

Well we had a great weekend.

I chalked off everything on my list and it was a long one.

Thankfully everything outside got done and inside as well.

We had a great walk yesterday afternoon just as the rain began.

For some reason I could not shut off my thoughts last night so I tried to take as many extra zzz’s this morning as possible.

Running a bit late well not really late.

But I like to sign on to the work computer well before my actual start time.

I like to be early.

Just a thing about me.

I hope that you are doing well.

Doing the social distancing.

Not having massive crowds over for a visit.

Just having common sense so we get through this safe and to the other side.

Remember to rest and to hydrate.

Wash your hands often.

Have an awesome Monday.

Time for coffee.

Alvin is resting on his little bed.

With a deep respect and sending so much kindness your way,

I/We remain,

As always, Carol & Mr. Alvin

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Saturday the 20th day of January, 2018.

I believe another beautiful day is on the way.

Yesterday Alvin received a huge amount of BIRTHDAY WISHES and we thank all of our family and friends for them.

We had a quiet but great evening.

He must have had a little extra something that I did not see as he had me up to go outside just after midnight and then up at his regular time of 4:00 a.m.

I think that we are going to have to work on the “getting out of bed time.”

I had a raging headache earlier but it seems to have dissipated.

Thank goodness as we are puppy sitting for the day.

Our friend Teddy is coming to stay with us.

I am grateful for my yesterdays, todays and tomorrows, as they have shaped me into who I am.

We all have those times that we would rather not have to remember but they define us.

We learn from yesterday, try to do better today and dream for tomorrow.

No one has the perfect life.

The grass is not always greener on the other side.

So while you are trying to get to “the other side” why not make it green for you.

Have an awesome Saturday.

Time to go and start the laundry, have breakfast and make coffee for me and my neighbour.

Time to empty the dishwasher and prepare for the company.

Happy Saturday.

Special Hello to: thank you to all those people who I have encountered throughout my life thus far.

Always, Carol & Alvin

Just heard a series of loud noises from outside, I had better go and investigate.

Thought for the day…..

Wow, today is Friday, April 27th, 2012 and guess what we got after 5:00 a.m. this morning?

I bet you will never guess?

Okay, I will tell you.

Another blanket of that white stuff …….

They were forecasting it mixed with rain but it is staying for now.

This seems more like March than April.

Oh well next month is May and with all of this moisture we shall have the greenest trees and lawns.

Our parks will be gorgeous.

I guess the moisture will freshen things up.

What can you do?  Mother Nature has her mind made up and she is one stubborn lady …..

So on this my day off I am going to embrace the snow ….. well not literally of course…  LOL

So I hope that wherever you are and whatever Mother Nature has decided to bring to you weather-wise just be grateful that we have weather and changes to it.

Can you imagine being in a glass bubble or forever inside a room where you never get to go outside?

I will take the odd freak snow storm in April, thank you.

So have a great day and weekend.

See you on the other side.

Take Care.

Special Hello to:  all the kids who are taking advantage of the wet snow and making a snowman or two.

Always, Carol and Alvin
