Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Tuesday the 7th day of July, 2015.

The sky has been mostly overcast until this point at just after 6:00 a.m. when the sun is breaking through.

That is the view from my office window which faces southward.

Now the sun almost casts a glow over the houses as the trees sway in the morning breeze.

I am so grateful to live in such a great place.

I am grateful to have my own home.

I am grateful to have such a great guy as a companion, Mr. Alvin.

The best four-legged friend this Momma could ever ask for …… mmmm

Last night before Alvin and I went for our walk we had a couple of errands to do in our neighbourhood.

Dropping stuff off.

After completing our task we proceeded on our nightly walk.

The air was perfect.

Not too hot.

Not too cool.

Just the right amount of a breeze.

We bumped into Mr. Alvin’s girl friend’s Moms (they are sisters who live down the street from us).

Mr. Alvin loves his Abby ….. unfortunately she had gone for an earlier walk and the girls were out for a run.

We chatted and caught up and then we all went our separate ways.

Running is not for me.

I love to walk ….. not run.

I like to stop and smell the roses.

Just before we arrived home we saw our friends who have the most gorgeous yard.

The grass is now the most lush that I have ever seen it to be.

Just the right amount of TLC ….. oh my goodness so green … the perfect shade.

They have beautiful flowers …. a rock garden …. hedges ….. roses ….. just spectacular.

Nicest people and Mr. Alvin loves them.

Funny thing the girls caught up to us ….. LOL….. we were visiting again.

Well it was the best evening.

We have a great many of them and I am truly grateful.

Now if I could only persuade Mr. Alvin to use the new sofa ottoman to get onto and off of the bed.

Still isn’t using it all of the time…..

Stubborn boy …. not good with change.

Well time to put on the finishing touches before going to catch the bus.

Oh and my sister called me last night.

Didn’t I say it was the most perfect evening.

Could not ask for more…… family, friends …..

Thought for the day ……

Good Morning and Welcome to Monday the 6th day of July, 2015.

It is bright and sunny with a very slight breeze here in Edmonton.

By the end of the day yesterday it was shorts weather once again.

We had a lovely Sunday me and Mr. Alvin.

Well Mr. Alvin is still getting used to his new “stool” (ottoman) for the bed.

I thought because it was longer and a bit wider than everything else we have tried that he would like it.

Not sure at this point.

He will jump onto the bed using it as a halfway jumping point but hesitates coming down.

He looks as though he is studying it carefully ….. then jumps avoiding the ottoman landing on the rug.

I have a narrow piece of carpet that is placed carefully under the ottoman to give it extra grip.

Hopefully he will get the hang of it and be comfortable using it.

He has such short little legs, and he is now middle age so I want him to be careful.

Man, can he jump.

For a little guy he has a high long jump.

Oh dear, me Alvin….. what shall we do……

I just worry about him …….

Well back to work after having a few days off followed by the weekend …. it was a glorious five days.

I sure do love being at home…..

Well here it is almost time to leave for work ….. picked up my bus pass yesterday so that is good.

Thought for the day ……

Good Morning and Welcome to Sunday the 5th day of July, 2015.

Wow almost one week into July of 2015.

Summer is zipping along.

Today is overcast and COLD ….. yes, I am saying COLD.

The high for today is about 20 degrees celsius compared to the 30 degree weather of last week and Friday …. feels cool.

I will be putting on a sweater in the house.

I do hope that it rains as we could use some moisture.

Nice change to be on the cool side, though.

Yesterday my daughter picked us up (me and Mr. Alvin) and we travelled to their house.

They live about 15 minutes away by car.

Just a short drive.

Mr. Alvin does not appreciate a car ride.

I love their new house ….. the smell of a new house ….

But he made it there and back.

My daughter took me to some of the places that they have discovered since moving to their new home.

This indoor market that has a cool cafeteria style restaurant ( we stopped for lunch, yummy ).

The big deal for us was to explore a couple of antique stores ….. we spent a few hours just looking at all of the dishes, jewellery, cans, furniture, small household gadgets.  So much.

I found a couple of items.

One was a twisted copper wire wreath.

It fits in my main bathroom which has copper coloured accessories.

The other was a hand painted box with a drawer (could be used for almost anything …. jewellery….. office supplies…..teas.

Good prices on my items.

The other big find for me wasn’t at an antique store but at the local Winners store ….

Alvin has short legs and I wanted to replace the IKEA ottoman that I had with something a bit bigger.

I found a long ottoman which had a big label “MADE IN THE USA” …… so that was a bonus.

Like to use and buy items made in Canada or the USA.

The ottoman matches my current bedroom colours which was nice.

Unfortunately it is taking Mr. Alvin some time to get used to it.

He did use the ottoman twice, but this morning after jumping up onto the bed using it, he jumped over it coming off the bed.

Oh my Mr. Alvin ….. hopefully he will warm up to the new piece of furniture which was bought just for him ….

Well time to go and have a late breakfast ….

Mr. Alvin and I thoroughly enjoyed the time with our family.

Mr son-in-law is healing nicely from his fall down the stairs ( remember do not text and go down stairs).

I had the best five days off (including this weekend) from work.

WE are going to enjoy this last day before back to the regular routine.

It is windy though.

Thought for the day…..

Good Monday morning ….. today is August 27th, 2012.

IT is a GORGEOUS MORNING …. the sun is starting to rise in the east.

IT IS A GREAT DAY.

I had a wonderful sleep and am ready to start my day ( guess truly it has started already, LOL ).

My little dog Alvin is curled up on the ottoman under the window.

He looks even more cute than his usual self.

He reminds me of a small child curled up having a nap.

Our pets and our children are so precious ….. they are innocence at it’s most pure.

Without all of the outside social sources and issues to muddy their imaginations and souls.

Whenever I work at Bath & Body Works and see all these small children so cute, living in the moment.

No ugly thoughts, no stresses, just them …. surrounded by the people that they love and that love them.

It would be so great if we could all live in the moment and not be stressed out, stressed in ….. you know.

So on this day ….. I shall endeavour to live in the moment ( I honestly do try to do this everyday ).  Will you?

Erasing all of the unkind, self-loathing, not positive thoughts and chatter that float around our brains all day long.

We have some 60,000 thoughts each and everyday.

Just to quiet those thoughts can make a huge difference.

So Happy Monday ALL …. I wish you many blessings and good thoughts.

Thought for the day….

Well today is Thursday, May 10th, 2012 ….  the skies have cleared somewhat, and the sun is coming up.

Another gorgeous day on the way…..

I always think it is so cute when Mr. Alvin jumps up on the ottoman in the office which is located under the window to look outside.

He will stand there for quite some time taking in the view.

He’s my boy.

It always amazes me as to how they are always in “the moment” …… present, here and now.

Lesson for the day ….. try to be more like Mr. Alvin ……

Well it is almost time to leave for work ….. was a bit slow on the uptake this morning.

But it was so nice to just go about things more slowly.

So another lesson …… take things slow …… enjoy that sunrise ….. those moonlit nights …..

We need to slow down…… chill….. relax.

I wish you a wonderful day where you have and find the time to enjoy a few minutes of peace and quiet.
