The New YEAR 2022

Good Morning ALL! How are you this morning? Both Alvin and I are well. We had a grand day yesterday. I got the laundry done, vacuumed upstairs and the main floor and washed all of the floors, cleaned the bathrooms which would be three, shovelled and chipped away at the ice, visited Humphrey and Bogart three times, walked with Alvin, watered all of my household plants which are upstairs and down, put away the remaining Christmas stuff that was just patiently waiting for me in the family room in the basement, dusted, worked on my budget for February and did cleaning out of my emails. I also made a big pot of quinoa with sauteed carrots, onions, celery, garlic and spices with some roasted spiced chickpeas. It was so yummy. I felt very productive which is great. My TO DO list got a quite a bit smaller. So today can be mainly a fun day. I want to give Mr. Alvin a sponge bath to freshen him up and mainly trim his paws and a couple of spots that grew in “strange,” go for a walk, make pancakes for breakfast with almond butter because I am out of eggs, do some more picking at the ice (have to check the driveway to see if there is snow on it because I think I forgot to do it yesterday), put the towels away that are finishing to dry at this moment, I need to have a shower and whatever other little thing I may have forgotten. Definitely will have time to relax and ponder life and some things.

I forgot to mention that during our walk yesterday we saw Cookie’s Dad, our little friends Zane and Mateo and their sitter Lindsey and our friends with the beautiful yard on the corner. We stopped at the mailbox and heard someone calling our names and it was Cookie and her Dad. Cookie had been barking while we were visiting out front of their house and so her Dad brought her outside to see us.

Feels like a photo morning!

Another gloomy overcast start to the day. Hopefully the sun will shine and the temperatures be warm and melt some of this snow and ice.

I wish you a wonderful Sunday. Looking forward to having a shower, coffee, and pancakes.

Continuing to live with kindness, respect, patience, compassion, love, laughter, understanding, gratitude, focus and possibilities.

The New YEAR 2022

Good Morning All! Well Happy New YEAR and Welcome to 2022. WOW. It is hard to believe. It is late already as Miss Cookie had us up at 2:00, then Alvin woke up at 4:00 and then again at 7:00 for breakfast. So chopped up sleep but that is okay. We do not have plans for this first day of January 2022 other than to bask in the gratitude that we have in being alive, in good health and good food to eat.

Did you have a quiet or loud New Year’s Eve? Funny story – about 7:00 p.m., I was outside picking up poop when I heard a loud noise, I looked up to see a large jet passenger plane. It was all lit up but at the angle it was flying over my house, I could not make out the airline. Of course, it was dark by this time. It was so low I could see the wings and all the lights and even the windows in the plane. Too low for sure. It was not making a straight descent but appeared to be circling back to the airport which is southwest of my home. We are in the flight path of the Edmonton International Airport and there are always planes flying overhead but never this low. I ran into the house to call my friend, she had heard a loud noise but did not think anything of it. This morning I have not had the time as yet to check the news to see if there was a plane in distress last night. Also, I figured if I did not hear any other loud noises or sirens, the plane must have made it back to the airport. I sure hope so. It was unnerving.

When I called my friend ended up chatting for quite awhile. I had planned to call my sister and brothers earlier in the evening and then watch a movie or perhaps one of the New Year’s Eve shows but plans changed. After our chat, I called my sister and my younger brother. I will call my older of the brothers today. I also called my daughter and son-in-law. Everyone was surprised when I said “Happy New YEAR” before midnight but most of us are long in bed before the stroke of midnight. As it turned out we did not go to bed until just before 11:00 and it was quite some time after that when the lights went out and then more time until Cookie settled down. She had a night which translated to “us all having a night.” Today is a new day. Soon Cookie shall be home with her family. They come home Monday night. It will be quiet without her for sure.

Yesterday while we were chilling as we have done for most of this past week, Cookie on her chair and Alvin and I on the sofa, Alvin was making a coughing sound in his sleep. Cookie jumped up off the chair and walked over to the sofa, went up on her hind legs and sniffed and licked Alvin’s face. She clearly was concerned. It was so sweet. Afterwards, she walked around the living room and on her way back to the sofa, she stopped and checked him out once again. I have never seen one of the dogs do that. She clearly was concerned for him. Of course, I was keeping an eye on Mr. Alvin, as well.

Well I suppose I should get going as it is getting on. I forgot to bring up my phone as I was carrying up pee pads. It must be past 10:00 a.m. already.

Alvin is laying outside the office and Cookie is scouring the upstairs for something. She is very snoopy or inquisitive and curious. I just heard a noise coming from the guest room and went to find Cookie into things. Alvin is giving her the what for at this moment. Not doing anything – just following her around. She just went to nip at him. I told her “no” and she listened for now. She is busy girl.

I ended up not having pancakes yesterday but this morning it is pancakes. I have milk to use before the expiry date so will make up a batch. Love pancakes.

The temperature is supposed to warm up by later this afternoon and then tomorrow start getting cold again.

I watched the FRIENDS REUNION in between phone calls last night.

Happy New Year’s Day.

Continuing to live this life with kindness, respect, compassion, patience, love, laughter, understanding, gratitude, focus and possibilities.

2021

Good Morning ALL! Happy Halloween! Can you believe it October 31, 2021 already? In a few hours there will be little ghosts, goblins and other costumed treaters out and about in the neighbourhood. I cannot wait. I always love to see all of the costumes. All of the children that I know in the neighbourhood usually drop by to show me their costumes. I try to take photos of each of them for my “memory book” and from time to time I look back and see how much they have grown. One of the boys was 8 years old when I moved here and is now 20 years old. He dressed up a couple of years ago and popped by for old times sake. Time moves on but Halloween is Halloween forever. I wonder how many folks will allow their children out this year? Last year was strange. I opted to make special treat bags for all of the children that I know and hand delivered them in the afternoon. Not many children were out. I kept my lights off and felt bad but I did not have a set up that was “COVID APPROPRIATE.” As I mentioned I still gave out treats to the children that I knew and some of my daughter’s friends and neighbours. It is cool out there this morning so I will definitely be wear some warm sweat pants and a sweater when we answer the door later today and just thinking about putting Alvin’s sweater on him. Yes or No. I will have a short leash on him so that he can go to the door and check on the little treaters. It is nice that Halloween falls on the weekend, Sunday. My daughter is coming by for a late pancake breakfast and a visit which I am happy about. I did not mention to Alvin yet as he gets so excited.

I also had a phone call yesterday from Teddy’s Mom. They have a doorbell camera and noticed that Alvin and I had stopped by. I think that I have mentioned this before …. when we are out for a walk, now that we can walk the whole way, we pass by his friend’s house and he cannot help but to go and see if he is at home. He does this everytime we walk by. He is so strong and because they have a driveway in the front, I don’t want to pull him on the pavement. Cannot risk damaging his legs. Sometimes I reach down and pick him up and other times I just let him run up the steps with me following. I let him sniff at the door and listen to see if he can hear his best friend and his little sister. Once he is done, I can usually convince him to continue our walk. Sometimes I lift him down the steps and sometimes I let him walk down. He always stops at the garage door for one last sniff, I guess with the hope that maybe they are in the garage. Teddy and family were not at home when we popped by. It is actually quite a beautiful thing that Alvin misses seeing his friend. Before COVID, Teddy’s parents worked and now they are both retired. With COVID they have not travelled so no staying with us for a week or so. The boys miss that so much. Iris cannot even mention Alvin’s name without creating a super excited Teddy and now Kobi as well. She has to wait until they are in the car and on their way over. When they arrive she gets out of the car and opens the back passenger side and the pups both jump out and run fast as the wind to our open front door. They run to Alvin to say hello, jump up and give me a kiss and then run about for a few minutes in all their excitement. Teddy and Alvin have the most beautiful friendship, they are best friends. Anyway, Iris asked if the pups could come over in the morning until afternoon as they have some errands to run and I immediately said “yes, of course.” Alvin will be so surprised and I do not want to tell him in advance as he will sit at the window waiting. I love this friendship and cannot wait to see the pups tomorrow morning.

Well time to go and have a shower and then start preparing for our company. I am excited for Amanda’s visit and for the treaters later today. I am so glad that I got all of my cleaning and laundry done yesterday. Now it can be a fun day. A play day.

Happy Halloween to you All! Be safe out there and have fun.

Continuing to live this life with kindness, respect, compassion, patience, love, laughter, understanding and gratitude.

Second Half of the NEW YEAR

Good Morning,

Wow did we ever sleep in this morning.

We went to bed in good time and I read for a bit but could not settle down.

Not too long after we hit the hay it did begin to rain.

I am not sure what time I finally drifted off to sleep but then Alvin was stirring and we were up.

That was almost 4:30 a.m.

So he ate his breakfast and had his glucosamine chew and went outside.

Then back into the house …… I know we woke up again at 8:00 but I just could not get my butt off the sofa…. next time it was 9:39 a.m.

WOW, latest that we have slept.

The sun was shining bright at 8:00 a.m. but the sky has now clouded over and the wind is getting up.

I also realized that although the food is very tasty with the Good Food package ….. there is a lot of “pan frying.”

Also I had not chosen the meats and am not used to eating much pork.  If I do eat meat it is chicken.

Mostly I eat a vegetarian diet with a bit of chicken.

So my tummy was just a bit upset at bedtime as well.

I have one more meal to cook tonight and I think it is pork meatballs which I am going to bake in the oven.

Will increase the cook time but I can do not another “pan fry” meal.

There was a rice dish and coleslaw with the pork chops last night and corn on the cob.

I definitely had learned a few different cooking methods.

I have found that I am a pretty plain cook.

Using spices for sure.

I guess long weekends are for sleeping in…..

We did accomplish several things from our TO DO LIST.

Outside I can hear the geese honking as they fly overhead.

Today.

Yesterday, we were so happy to have our girl here for a good chunk of the day.

We had pancakes for “brunch.”

Then we girls gave Mr. Alvin a haircut and I gave him a bath.

Following she asked if I would like to go to GOODWILL and check things out.

We have a fairly new one about a 10 or so minute drive away so I thought why not.

This was my fifth, yes 5th time out in public since March 19th, 2020.

So basically once per month if you spread them over the time since I have been at home.

But actually five times since August.

I will say that people were wearing masks but the social distancing and following arrows in the store.

Not so much.

Every few minutes an announcement would be made to please keep 2 metres apart and follow the arrows.

No one listened.

I am pretty sure that only my daughter and me were actually paying attention.

Sunday afternoons are not a good time to go checking out GOODWILL.

Not at all.

I was checking out some tealights from Partylite and commenting to my daughter on what a great deal for those who burn candles.

They were new ( I checked to make sure ) and a box of tealights was $5.50 and the price from Partylite would be over $15.00 now for sure.

Anyway this girl was right beside me …. as I was going through them.

She did not give me a chance to finish.

I was not happy.

If there is one thing that I cannot stand is people that do not listen to the rules especially in the middle of a pandemic.

I was thinking sure okay you have a mask on but you are not even six inches away from me ….

So I moved.

Rude people.

We kept away and followed the rules.

Some of the older children that were accompanying their parents had their masks slipped down not covering their faces.

I can only imagine what school will be like.

Unfortunately I have a bad feeling about this fall once all the children have been back in school for about a week or two.

Even though there was some difficult moments or lots of them in the store ….. I thoroughly enjoyed the time with my girl.

We found some great things and then had good choices on what to actually buy.

I bought one package of tealights …. cranberry to burn at Christmas.

I love the cranberry scent.

The other was found at the last minute and it was a Kitchenaid roasting pan with a rack in the bottom.

No lid but had good handles.

It was brand new or looked to be new.

Definitely not used.

I figured that I could use it from time to time.

I use my Princess House Lasagne pan to cook the turkey at Christmas so this would be better.

It was a good price so I decided it was a good find.

Well I guess I should get this show on the road.

Yesterday at this time we were out for a walk.

Thinking we will not be walking now ….. maybe later.

Oh, goodness my stomach is making horrible sounds.

I have to take it easy on what I put into it.

Definitely toast for breakfast.

Definitely I will be baking the meatballs tonight.

This afternoon I want to continue on my quest to delete emails and photos, more photos than emails at this point.

Also I am going to work on my book this afternoon.

But before we get to that point ….. get dressed, bring up the laundry that was air drying, make coffee and have breakfast.

I have a couple of loads of laundry left to do.

So will do them as well.

I hope that you had a great weekend thus far.

Perhaps you are as blessed as I am and are able have an extra day off.

Take Care.

Remember when you are out and about …..

Wear the mask…..

Keep your distance……

We are not given these instructions for no reason……

If we want to keep lessen the COVID19 cases …. this is what we have to do.

Also sanitize your hands when going into stores and coming out.

Wash your hands when you come home.

Wash your hands at home.

Wash your hands before you handle food.

Wash your hands before you eat.

Enjoy your life.

Well Mr. Alvin is giving me that look and I see it is already 10:15 a.m.

I need some coffee.

Perhaps I will make that first.

Take Care.

Be safe.

Living with Kindness and respect….

I/We shall remain,

As Always, Carol & Alvin

Second Half of the NEW YEAR.

Welcome to Tuesday, the 4th day of August, 2020.

The sun is shining so brightly and the sky is a beautiful blue dotted with a few white whimsical clouds.

There is a slight breeze.

But already you can feel it is going to be another warm day.

Although the weather channel is forecasting 25 degrees celsius for today; I think there is a strong possibility it will be much warmer.

We just arrived home a few minutes ago from a lovely early morning walk.

We bumped into a gal with two pups named Luna and Bella.

Yesterday in the early afternoon my daughter came for a visit and to help me with a craft project.

She picked me up a couple of supplies from Michael’s.

We had pancakes with fresh blueberries and coffee before working on my project.

My daughter is one of the best human beings that I know.

She is intelligent, caring, compassionate, supportive and loving and has a great sense of humour.

There are not enough words to describe her or what she means to me and Alvin.

We love her very much.

I am most grateful that she is able to take time away from her busy life to spend time with us.

I am blessed.

Today is my defrost the fridge and clean the oven.

Two large jobs that I wanted to get done.

As it is a bit cooler now – decided to do the fridge now.

So this will be short.

I guess I should have stayed up at 5:11 when we were first up and the fridge could have been done before our walk.

The house is not hot now either which will help.

I have more stuff in the fridge than I planned.

Freezer things will go into a rubbermaid container to keep the cold contained.

I will have to work fast.

I hope that you all are doing well.

Last night we had the storm of all storms.

Lots of thunder and lightning with the lights flickering from time to time.

The rain was coming down in buckets full.

I am glad that I moved my flowers.

One more thing to mention.

I decided at the last moment to check Telus ON DEMAND and see what was there for movies.

I saw that THE SECRET had a new movie on demand.

“Dare to DREAM”

It was skipping the theatres and available to rent.

I was shocked it was renting for $20.00.

I really have enjoyed all of the books that Rhonda Byrne has written and published.

Something told me to go for it.

If I had gone to the theater by the time I paid for my ticket and treats it would be more than $20.00.

So I rented the movie.

Really good and inspirational.

Another reminder that you do receive what you think about the most.

Time to change those thoughts patterns once again.

It is so easy to get into a rut.

Well time to go.

I can always watch the movie again later as I have access to it for two days.

It was well worth the $20.00.

I guess an early birthday present to myself.

Living with kindness and respect.

Alvin is barking downstairs.

Time to go.

Fridge and Alvin are calling me.

I/We shall remain,

As Always, Carol & Alvin

Second Half of the NEW YEAR.

Good Morning and Welcome to a WET ONE.

Oh my gosh, it has been raining for most of the overnight and then rained most of the evening.

We were lucky and got out for a nice walk stopping at Alvin’s bestie’s for a visit before continuing on home.

Both Teddy and Kobi jumped all over me giving lots of love.

Alvin headed to see if there was any food out …. what a guy.

The sky is grey and it is very windy.

A great combination.

The ground is very wet, flower pots are saturated.

I moved some of my pots when the rain slowed down last night fearing that the flowers would be crushed from the downpour and the windy conditions.

The Marigolds, Snapdragons and Tomato plants have done great in all of this and look even more green if that is possible.

Both these flowers have the most delectable yellow flowers.  One a sun yellow and the other on the pale side.  The marigolds have rich yellow flowers and the snapdragons a more delicate yellow flower.

Man, I could have stayed “in bed” this morning.

With the wind howling and the rain pitter pattering on the roof and the siding and the windows.

Coming from all directions or so it would seem.

But up and almost ready to begin work.

One hiccup on the way to work is “coffee” as I cannot seem to coax my coffee perk to start.

I will go and try again as soon as I am finished writing this post.

ARGH, cannot have a day without coffee.

I love the smell and the taste.

Nothing like a great cup of coffee.

Well unless the weather changes dramatically – I would say that walking may be out for this day.

I think the forecast is for rain tomorrow as well.

Not liking this ….

We need the sunshine.

Not just us humans but the grass, gardens, flowers and crops and trees.

Everything needs the sun to grow and prosper.

Good old Vitamin “D.”

Oh, my daughter and grand pup Aspen stopped by and I took a late lunch.

They were at the vet as one of Aspen’s toe nails were given her grief.

The kids had bandaged it up as it had got caught perhaps and ended up bleeding.

The vet took a look, rebandaged the paw and gave her some pain meds.

Also gave her what looks like an IV bag with a string to place on her paw so that she does not get the bandage wet.

Wet bandage on open “wound” could mean bacteria would get in and grow and that would not be good.

I had some pancakes left from Sunday and I shared them with my girl.

They tasted pretty good reheated, actually.

Well time to fly …. try that coffee pot once again.

She (my coffee perk) can be a bit fussy sometimes.

Making me work for that cup of coffee for sure.

Have an awesome Tuesday.

Be safe.

Remember kindness and respect, always.

I/We shall remain,

As Always, Carol & Alvin

Second Half of the NEW YEAR.

Good Sunday Morning.

It is windy with the sun desperately trying to break through the cloud cover.

I was out a bit earlier with the boy and it is not cold so that it is a good thing.

Our late spring/early summer weather has been a mix of sun and rain with mostly being rain.

We have no choice in what the day brings and just have to roll with it.

When the sun shines we walk and work outside or simply sit on the deck and enjoy the sun’s rays.

With the rain, we stay inside.

I am not opposed to walking in the rain protected by an umbrella but doesn’t work so much for Mr. Alvin.

I would feel so guilty walking without him.

He does have a rain jacket but is not fond of it.

Perhaps if he wore it more than once he may grow to tolerate the covering.

But I doubt it.

He is a stubborn creature and when his mind is made up there is no changing it.

I know that first hand.

But that is okay.

I will say that I can be stubborn although I have learned to roll with change in my later years.

You do not always have control – okay we seldom have real control.

What is control anyway?

Does it really matter in the grand scheme of things?

We do not have control over the weather.

We have little control over anything in our lives, really.

Perhaps on what we have for dinner or when we take a shower.

Those things are dependent on how much money, time and what is in the pantry and fridge.

The shower well that depends on time and perhaps hot water supply.

But most things are set by a collective for which we are a part however; if that collective decides on something different from yourself, well you see what I mean.

Control is not what it is cracked up to be anyway.

If you lose what control you think that you had ….. you could spiral down.

The bottom is not a pretty place for sure.

So really …. control …… mmm.

I consulted my pocket Thesaurus to see what words are listed under control: if a verb here are some of the words: direct, lead, head, preside over, govern, rule, manage, supervise, oversee,

if a noun, direction, leadership, command, rule, authority, charge, power, influence, mastery and so on.

By looking at the words that fall under the word “control” – perhaps control is more a wide brush stroke.

We can provide influence and direction over how we make meals, dress ourselves and maybe our family to some degree and so much more.

We can manage how we accomplish things in our daily lives.

But if you wake up in the morning and simply live your life.

Everyone has a schedule and some choices within.

If we work whether at home or away from home.

You have to get up, eat breakfast, have a shower, get dressed, look after your pets and your family and your transportation to the job.

There are things that we just have to do.

Control is just a word.

Some people spend way too much time worrying about things that are going to happen whether you are in control or not.

So I say …. live your life.

Do the best that you an within the framework of your life.

Words are words.

We spend far too much time worrying about words.

Actions speak louder than words.

If we live our best lives with kindness and respect, really most things will work out just the way that they should.

Are you confused?

Well perhaps it is too early in the day to provide an intelligent or wise view.

Food for thought, definitely.

Perhaps we all need to consult the Thesaurus once in awhile.

After all, they are only words.

Different meanings.

Well whether the sun shines today or not.

I am making pancakes for breakfast.

I am finishing the laundry.

I am making some notes on a story idea that came to me last night.

I will go for a walk with Mr. Alvin in between the showers.

I will do what I need to do.

Yesterday I/We had company.

My friend G in the morning and then my daughter stopped by for lunch.

We enjoyed our company so much.

There was laughter and almost a little smoke when we were making our grilled cheese sandwiches for lunch.

In our defensive, we thought that Mr. Alvin was choking on a carrot.

The sandwiches were delicious.

He is okay.

But that is life.

So much love, kindness and respect I have for these two wonderful women.

I am so blessed.

The sun shone and the day was great.

We walked.

Humphrey visited.

We visited Bogart the kitten.

My daughter met the new neighbour.

Life is good.

I/We, shall remain,

As Always, Carol & Alvin

It is a NEW YEAR.

Good Saturday Morning,

Wow, this year so far has been filled with incredible highs and incredible lows.

This past week I would say has had some incredible lows.

Three nights this week of virtually no sleep countered with last night with first time up at 3:30 a.m. has made for a very long week.

One great thing to happen is my daughter is coming to visit today and I shall whip up some pancakes.

I don’t have my usual ingredients but that has never stopped me from making something.

I have found in life you have to be able to use what you have and go from there.

Just like this fence adventure and I shall call it that ….. I finally got things sorted out and just have to chat with my neighbours about the final tally.

I researched and spoke to people and then negotiated.

Negotiation is not something that I find easy to do ….. selling is more my thing.

That being said I guess negotiating is part of selling.

Now working for someone else and selling is one thing …. like retail.

I love that …. and I am good, no very good at selling things.

Anyway, I am more than happy with the final result in this case.

Perhaps after having a shower will perk me up and that is next on my list to do.

Last night I did some laundry so that reduced the number of loads for today.

I will say that with not having to go to the office, my laundry is considerably less.

Now basically one outfit for the day not two or even three.

I think that perhaps Alvin may need to go outside before I slip into the shower.

Will check with him first for sure.

The rain has stopped and it is very windy.

Clouds still fill most of the sky although it does appear to be brighter in the distances.

Tomorrow is supposed to be sunny and 20 degrees celsius.

Now that would be nice.

Something to note that yesterday afternoon it was snowing, yup it was.

Mostly it was wet snow and melted as it touched the ground.

The point is on May 22, 2020 it was snowing.

At this moment both of us long to go walking but until he is back to normal, not taking any chances.

Not a pretty sight to have diarrhea on a walk, the clean up is a nightmare.

Well my daughter will be here in approximately two hours and I have things to do in preparation of her arrival.

I hope that you are having an incredibly “high” kind of day filled with all good things.

This life of ours now is unique for our time for most of us.

I hope that we are able to figure out a “new norm” and that it is one that is good for everyone including animals and all creatures including the environment.

We need to be more kind and respectful in all areas.

Take our new norm, go forth and spread that kindness and respect into your daily life.

This is a good thing for sure.

Well I better get this boat on the water …..

Wishing you a wonderful day filled with all sorts of goodness.

You deserve this most definitely as do we all.

Take care and be of good health.

With kindness and respect,

I/We shall remain,

Always, Carol & Alvin

Sometimes we just need some photos of cuteness and the beauty of nature.

My grand pups Milo and Aspen

My beautiful geranium waiting to be transplanted outside.

My little cuteness,  my boy, Alvin

It is a NEW YEAR.

Well it certainly is a great day and a New Year.

Today is my little sister’s Birthday, she turns 61.

I turn 63 in August.

Happy Birthday to my darling sister.

Alvin and I wish her the best of days.

The sun is rising and wiping away the night sky.

The reflection of the sun’s rays are settling on a neighbour’s house and it looks so beautiful.

It cooled off a bit over night but still is warm considering it is February.

Yesterday Alvin and I walked to his regular appointment.

He had the bordetella (which I thought was a needle but was a drink), an exam, ears checked (he has an infection in his left ear) and nails trimmed.

The Vet administered medicine for Alvin’s ear.

Get this, only once and it will remain active for up to a month.

How about that?

Other than the one ear and a bit of tartar on his teeth.

Which by the way I do brush and by the way our Vet says are in good condition.

He has most of his teeth.

Which is a good thing for canine or human.

According to the chart at the Vet he is approximately 65 in human years.

Actually older than me.

Go figure.

He still has the heart of a pup, like me.

Also like me, sometimes our bodies are not that of a pup or young girl!

Oh well.

Looking out of the office window, the sky is a light powder blue.

So wonderful to have the morning sky brighten so much earlier than say one month ago.

Well my daughter, Alvin’s sister is coming for pancakes in a little bit.

So I should get dressed and get some housework done.

Wishing you a great day.

Filled with kindness and respect.

Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day ….

Good Morning and Welcome to Monday the 22nd day of April, 2019.

The sky is slightly overcast this morning as the sun rises in the sky.

Forecast is for above 17 degrees celsius today.

Yesterday was glorious.

We were up in good time yesterday morning and spoke to my daughter via the telephone followed by a call from my friend P to go for a walk with her and her grand pup Georgie.

Just when I was sipping my coffee we received another phone call from our friend V in Regina, Saskatchewan.

The phone rang off the “wall” so to speak yesterday morning.

So great to chat to the girls.

Alvin and I met P and Georgie at the entrance to the nearby park and then continued for a nice long walk.

Just a few minutes into the walk we noticed a bright white flock above us filling the sky.

I was distracted by a larger dog and was paying more attention to Alvin and the dog than the birds.

P told me quick look it is a flock of SWANS.

She had heard on a news report that there were swans in our area.

This is not their normal flight route.

A historical flight change for sure.

The sky was white with the huge number of swans.

In all my years I have never seen a swan flying overhead.

How cool is that?

We continues about our walk and enjoyed everything that nature had to offer us.

Everyone was out walking their pups yesterday.

One hour later we returned home.

We, well I spent the day taking apart the office.

Everything down from the walls, packed up the closet and filled two garbage bags.

There are still a number of items and boxes to take to the basement for storage.

Once the room is clean except for the computer desk and chair; I will begin to prepare for painting.

Then at some point – there will be new paint in my office and I will finally hang my bulletin boards that my daughter made me for Christmas a few years ago (3 actually).

Sometimes it takes a while to get things done.

ARGH.

I also pressure washed the deck yesterday early afternoon.

Alvin and I even went for another walk late afternoon – early evening – 30 minutes.

Lots of exercise for us.

Was so great to get it all cleaned and now ready to put out the patio/deck furniture.

I might just put out a few things for now.

Another successful day.

Today will be shower for me after this post, then make pancakes, put on another load of laundry, COFFEE, take boxes and items to the basement and give Mr. Alvin a bath.

I am hoping to trim his front paws and legs a bit more before the bath.

I am excited to have today plus tomorrow off from work.

Feeling like I am accomplishing so much this weekend.

The weather has been great for walks.

Perhaps our daughter/sister might pop by today for a visit.

I will make pancakes and perhaps that will bring her here this morning.

Well time to hop into the shower.

Already changed our bedding.

All fresh for clean human and dog tonight.

We will be freshly clean as well.

I am so grateful to have this beautiful house.

I am so grateful for my daughter and her family.

I am so grateful for my sister and brothers.

I am so grateful for all our family.
