COUNTDOWN: 60 Days to 60

Today is Friday, July 28, 2017 and it is the 13th day until my 60th Birthday.

Well as the curtain begins to rise on my upcoming 60th Birthday.

I was thinking what else can I share regarding 60 years of life and experience.

Perhaps ADVICE.

Likely one of the single most pieces of advice that was ever given to me was this by my Paternal Grandmother, Stella.

Now, we did not always see eye to eye on things but likely due to the 56 year age difference.

But we agreed on a great many things.

My Grandmother was educated and very intelligent.

She rarely showed signs of emotion and me, well I plainly wear my heart on my sleeve.

Perhaps we were a good bit of YING and YANG.

I learned so much from her over my lifetime until she passed at age 97 in 1998.

So the advice was simply this:  “everything in moderation.”

It applied not only to food but to life.

If you live a life of moderation then you would live a good long life.

Or at least increase the likelihood of such.

So that is what I would like to leave with you for today….

Those pearls of wisdom from my Grandmother who was an amazing woman.

“Everything in Moderation.”

Always, Carol

Thought for the day……

Welcome to a one of a kind day …… February 29th, 2012 and it happens to be Wednesday …. mid week.

It is great to have an extra day …… YAY….

How are you today?  Are you feeling bright eyed and bushy tailed?  I love that old saying.

So much of what we say and think comes from what we learned as a child.

My Mom had some cute sayings as well as my paternal Grandparents…..I remember quite a few of them and wished that I had written them down along the way.

That is a good idea for all of you out there that have parents and grandparents … write down the sayings and the stories …. before they pass on…. so that you have them forever.

Also somewhere along the way I put my own spin on these sayings ….. not sure why ….. but that is okay.

I heard a good one yesterday from a gal at work and now I have forgotten it.  Will have to ask her and write it down.

As I am still “green” in a new job at work …. I find that my memory has moments.

Some moments I remember everything in vivid detail and others “well in less detail” …… funny how the brain works.

I wished that I could remember everything I learn ….. they say we only use a small portion of our brain ….

If that is the case…… then why oh why ….. isn’t my information vault holding every bit for me to recall whenever I choose?

Hopefully within my lifetime they discover the mysteries that we hold inside our “heads.”

That would be so great.  But in the meantime, I shall endeavour to remember all that I learn each day.

So when you forget a line or where your keys are …. do not fret …… we all have our moments.

Have a great day……. remember this is a bonus day…..

Special Hello to: all those born on this day, Happy Birthday.  I hope that you have an awesome day.

Always, Carol & Alvin …….  🙂
