Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Sunday the 8th day of October, 2017.

The morning is a cooler one with wind and deep blue clouds filling the sky.

Sunbeams no where to be seen.

I am so excited because today, Alvin and I have the pleasure to spend some time with our family …. my daughter, his sister, my son-in-law, his brother-in-law and the grand-pups Miss Aspen and Baby Milo.

We are always happy to spend time with this group of amazing beings.

I hope that wherever you are ….. whatever you are doing ….. that you are safe, warm, dry, that your belly is full of good food and you have access to clean drinking water.

May you always show your gratitude to those around you.

We need to be more grateful for others.

Grateful for the bus driver that drives you home from work, just doing their job.

Grateful for the cashier at the grocery store, standing all day, ringing through your items, just doing their job.

Grateful to all the truck drivers for spending hours and hours sitting driving all the things we need to the stores, just doing their job.

Grateful to all the rescue personnel for spending their days and nights keeping us safe, just doing their jobs.

Grateful to all the nurses and doctors for spending their days and nights tending to our wounds, just doing their jobs.

Grateful to have police officers for spending their days and nights keeping us safe, just doing their jobs.

Grateful for the city councillors out and about even on a long weekend, just doing their job.

Grateful for the men and women that keep the peace for our country and all around the world, just doing their job.

Grateful for all my neighbourhood children who think it was great fun to rake my leaves, no work at all, just being kids with no agenda.

Grateful for all of my FAMILY and FRIENDS, you are dear to me and Alvin.

Grateful for each and every one of you.

It is all of us that make this world.

Spread the gratitude and kindness.

Happy Thanksgiving.

Special Hello to: YOU, and YOU, and YOU ……

Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day….

Good Morning and Welcome to Monday the 11th day of November, 2013.

Two important things this morning.

Happy Birthday to a special nephew of mine ” T ” … such a great young man.

We are not blood related but he feels like family.

I have known him since he was in his Momma’s womb and I have loved him since the first time I laid eyes on him.

We always shared this special connection.

We would go for coffee together on prearranged days when I lived in Regina.

Now that I have moved he calls me on a regular basis.

I want to wish him the best BIRTHDAY ever.

Happy Birthday my boy.

The other important thing is “Remembrance Day” ….

I think it is important to remember those from the past who gave their lives to keep us safe.

I think it is important to acknowledge those souls who keep the peace today.

I think it is important to relish peace and remember that not everyone on this planet has that luxury – that way of life.

I think it is important to work on peace.

I think it is important to live your life in peace.

I think it is important to always remember.

Special Hello to: every peacekeeper whether in uniform or not…

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day….

Wow, here we are another Friday morning and today is June 29th, 2012.

Only a couple more days until July 1st, Canada Day.

The day that we celebrate our great country, our Canada.

We are so blessed to live in such an amazing country.

We have beautiful landscapes, fresh air, clean water, a diverse population from every corner of the planet, yummy food from all over the world, and most importantly PEACE  and FREEDOM.

We are peacekeepers….

What more could one ask for ….. I know that I have simplified how great Canada is…. as,  I could literally write all day about my beloved country.

I hope that you all have some great plans for the Canada Day weekend.

I will be at home (which is fine by me) …..

Saturday I will be catching up on the housework after last weekend’s three day garage sale.

On Sunday, I will be working at Bath & Body Works.

So that will be great – I will get to wish everyone a Happy Canada Day and see how people are celebrating.

When my shift is over at 6:00 …. I am invited to a friend’s birthday celebration.

Then on Monday my daughter and I are going to have a “jewelry making” day or at least part of the day.

So I will be busy starting today working both jobs.

Alvin gets to go to Amanda’s for a sleepover tonight and on Sunday….. so lucky him.

I hope that come Monday …. perhaps you will share some of your Canada Day Celebration stories with me.

Special Hello to:  all Canadians as we start our Canada Day weekend ….

Always Carol and Alvin

P.S. I was so excited that I published my blog and forgot to add my sign off …… oh well, it is Friday…..

See you all on Monday….. thanks for reading.
