Thought for the day ….

Good Morning and Welcome to Friday the 22nd day of January, 2016.

It is a beautiful glorious morning here in Edmonton.

I turned on some music as I was getting ready and it has made me feel so wide awake and wonderful.

What a great way to start the day with some of your favourite songs playing in the background as you wash your face, comb your hair and slip into your clothes.

 

I have always loved a little bit of everything ….. a variety of music and artists.

Much the way I have lived my life with variety.

Always good to like a bit of everything.

 

I am 58 and I love the “boy band” – One Direction ….. most especially the song “The Story of My Life.”

I am 58 and I love “Disturbed’s” version of “The Sound of Silence.”

I am 58 and I love Andy Grammer’s, Honey I’m Good ….. makes me want to dance.

I am 58 and I love Meghan Trainor and John Legend.

I am 58 and I love Elvis and Gordon Lightfoot.

I am 58 and I love Tina Turner and Aerosmith.

I am 58 and I love Bing Crosby and Alicia Keys.

 

I am 58 and I love Elton John, Johnny Cash, Adele, Celine Dion, Blake Shelton, Christina Aguilera, Pharrell Williams, Lady Gaga, Pink, Taylor Swift, Neil Diamond, Rufus Wainwright, Kelly Clarkson, Imagine Dragons, Maroon 5, Ed Sheeran, David Bowie, Van Morrison, Vance Joy, Lorde, Sam Smith, Jordan Smith, Bon Jovi, Cher, Madonna and the list goes on.  I love new and old and everything in between.

Mix it up with your music, with your food, with your life.

Well it is almost time to put the finishing touches on before heading out the door to work.

Thought for the day…..

Good Morning and Welcome to Sunday the 26th day of April, 2015.

The sun is shining brightly, and it is a beautiful day.

Me and Alvin are awaiting “our company” for brunch.

YAY ….. our daughter and sister …. the grand-puppies …. and pancakes, and later COSTCO.

Does not get better than that …..

So excited.

Floors are washed …… dusting has been done ….

Just get dressed, and start making the batter for the pancakes.

My thoughts are all about my family this morning.

We miss having them here and are happy when they come for a visit.

Even now the house sounds so empty …..

I should turn on some music …..

HAPPY by Mr. P. Williams ….. I love that song.

So on this Sunday I hope that you are happy and perhaps waiting to spend the day with your family.

Maybe going out for brunch.

Maybe going for a walk with your sister.

Maybe watching a movie with your kids.

Maybe the whole family is coming for Sunday supper.

So time to go and get ready …..

Thought for the day…..

Good Morning and Welcome to Saturday the 11th day of April, 2015.

I wish you a Happy and Wonderful Saturday.

I am so HAPPY to be at home.

Alvin and I have a jammed pack full day ahead of us beginning with a trip to the Vet.

We go once every 6 weeks together to the Vet where he has his “paw” i cure, ears checked and something I believe to be personal and not to share.

I will also pick up his food and also some toothpaste ( oral hygiene is good for everyone ).

Once I get home and gather my “trash picking” gear I will head out and start the cleanup over at the walk through path between the busy street and our neighbourhood.

At that point hopefully the sun is out or at least just overcast and no wet stuff.

I will clean for a bit and then come home to do laundry.

Some paperwork I will finish up and by then it will likely be suppertime so supper, walk with Alvin and then ……………………

MOVIE NIGHT.

I am so excited to be at home on a Saturday night to watch a movie early on …….

No plans for tomorrow ….. how about relaxing ….. I am up for that.

Practice some yoga …. strengthen my core a bit before Tuesday’s bootcamp.

Well time to get our gear ready for going to the Vet.

Alvin likes going there ……

Usually when we leave the house all I have to say is we are going to see Jenn and he automatically knows which direction to take (to the right).

I am so excited for this day as I sip on a cup of coffee.

Great to be at home.

Also my daughter and I put out the patio furniture last night ….. so much better to look at than bare deck …..

I have the music on downstairs and my song is on …..

HAPPY …… that is truly my song.

I feel so wonderful from the tip of my head to the soles of my feet, I feel happy.

Happiness is for sure my truth.

I feel giddy … I am so happy.

So great to have a life once again.

YAY……

Thought for the day……

Good Morning and Welcome to Wednesday the 1st day of April, 2015.

As we enter the final month of the first quarter.

Now doesn’t that sound all financial-like.

I love April because I love spring.

April is usually the starting point for us for spring and sometimes when March ends …. well you know.

The in like a lamb out like a lion or something like that …..

With the rain last night the air feels cleaner somehow.

The rain has turned to snow and most of the tiny flakes are melting as they touch the ground.

However, there are a few that have banded together and are sticking ….. that can be seen on the grassy areas.

The temperature is cold enough to wear a light winter coat and that I shall.

Oh well, soon it shall be double digits and then summer.

We just have to be patient.

Well I am running just a tad late so better get going here.

I hope that you have a “Happy April Fool’s Day” ……

Life is grand ….. I AM HAPPY …. seems that song by Mr. Williams just keeps buzzing around my head.

It is a great song for that ……. HAPPINESS ……

Thought for the day…..

Good Morning and Welcome to Tuesday the 17th day of February, 2015.

What a grand day we had yesterday …. Monday the 16th day of February, 2015.

We ate pancakes, we listened to MUSIC, drank coffee, danced to Sam Smith with me Alvin, MADE JEWELLERY, drank more coffee, and took pups for a walk.

Me and my girl had a grand day ……

It was perfection.

It was the first day in a long while that we actually both sat down together, and made some jewellery and grooved to the music.

Nothing like some great tunes to get you to that place ….. that place where creativity meets fun and fun is creative.

One that my daughter loved from back in the day …… “Cherry Bomb” by the Runaways. (great name for a song)

Thought for the day…..

Good Morning and Welcome to Tuesday, the 23rd day of September, 2014.

First off, I just want to say that Edmonton had +29 celsius yesterday and I had the air conditioning on for the puppies.

CRAZY …… a/c on and the leaves are turning colours …… seems odd…..

 

Well last night was the first night of “THE VOICE.”

Just when you think last year had great singers …..

You get blown away all over again.

There is a huge talent pool out there, and so great for them to have a forum such as The Voice.

It is my top show ….

I was wondering how the new “coaches” would do but they fit in as if they have always been on the show.

I always have loved the chemistry between Adam and Blake and nothing has changed.

However, I have added Gwen and Pharrell to on screen chemistry …… she is such a lady and Mr. Williams quite the gentleman.

They rocked the first show.

I was very impressed with them both.

This season could very well be the best one yet.

Definitely something to look forward to and thank goodness for the ability to record ….. just in case …

 

So on this Tuesday, I hope you are well and ready for another day.

Smile and always put your best foot forward so to speak ….. be happy …. it is the way to go.

When you have a time when things may not be going quite right …. think of something that makes you bend over laughing and makes you feel so good.

I often think of the song “HAPPY” by the new Voice Coach …… love it.

Thought for the day…..

Good Morning and Welcome to Sunday the 20th day of July, 2014.

20th of July ….. wow it has been a busy, full month.

I am so happy that there are still 11 days to go.

This morning in Edmonton the sky has been mainly overcast with the sun peeking through every once in awhile.

It has been so nice to have the moisture as it has been pretty dry….

My lawn is now a pretty green …. so happy for that.

I am so happy that I was able to get the “master bedroom” all washed down (walls, floors and bathroom, blinds) for the new occupants who arrive on Wednesday night.

It is so exciting.

The last time anyone lived with me was 2001/2002 when Steven moved into the apartment in Regina with Amanda and I. (then they moved to Edmonton).

I guess I should count Alvin ….. that would not be fair.

Okay the last two-legged ones were over ten years ago.

It is always official when the cable guy comes out.

But in this case …. it was the “cable girl” ….. I was pleasantly surprised.

The first time a cable technician was a woman.

I asked her if there were many female cable technicians and she said “no.”

She said it is an interesting job …. you never know what you will find on the other side of the door.

I can only imagine.

Well my daughter will be here shortly for coffee and we will finish off the wedding jewellery …..

The jewellery fitting on Thursday night went great ….. the Bride and her Mom loved all of the pieces.

I was happy and relieved.

It is so crazy that the best and most popular songs are from “children’s movies.”

Good Morning and Welcome to Wednesday the 16th day of April, 2014.

Thin blanket of snow covering the deck and the ground in my backyard.

Out front the streets and sidewalks appear to be dry.

I guess the heat on the asphalt kept the snow from sticking.

Perhaps this is the last snowfall for the year.

Anyway it is okay …. summer is right around the corner.

Temperatures to be 15-16 degrees celsius on the weekend.

That is summer to me.

YAY…. I am so excited.

I hope that you are feeling great at this very moment.

Perhaps you are listening to your favourite song ( I am listening to “Happy” ….. you know the one).

I love that line ….. come along if you feel like a room without a roof …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Wednesday the 2nd day of April, 2014.

How are you this morning?

I am doing pretty GOOD.

I think.

Although Alvin has been sniffing again …… oh, please …..

I wish with all my heart and soul that the only living breathing beings in my house are me and Alvin.

I am listening to the song from the movie FROZEN ….. “Let it GO” …..

It is a reminder to let it go …….

Only keep what you need and want …..

Let the rest of the stuff go.

I know it is not always easy.

I can tell you from my heart …..

It is not always easy but you have to let it go.

Keep the good stuff.

When Alvin does his thing ….. or else I hear a noise that I am unsure of ….. my mind wanders to that bad place…. you know …

I would love to shut down all those silly voices ….. throw away those thoughts …..

Each day I work on ME.

That is all you can do after all.

On the UP side last night Alvin were out for a walk after supper and while out met a nice couple from the United Kingdom (England).

We chatted for a long while ….. they are moving to Canada for work.

Now listening to “HAPPY” by Pharrell Williams.

Good song to listen to ……. I like the line “if you feel like a room without a roof” …… if you feel like happiness is the truth …..
