Thought for the day……

Good Morning and Welcome to Saturday the 29th day of March, 2014.

The sky is overcast and the clouds appear to be readying for a shower of the white stuff.

Appears that perhaps winter is hanging on just a bit longer.

I was very happy that I managed to wear my walking shoes to work last night.

My feet were dry and warm …. so that was great.

Soon we shall be able to pack away all of our winter gear.

It is time to get my front hall closet cleared out …. it has half and half at the moment.

A couple of weeks ago it appeared as though we were in spring and the temperatures were nice enough to only wear a spring jacket but I was wrong.

Because the very next day the temperatures dipped and my spring jacket was not warm enough ….. I was COLD.

Oh well, soon enough ……

The house is so quiet this morning with only the sound of the furnace when it cuts in and the rattling of the vents …. (hope that is all).

I miss my boy when he is not here.

He keeps me hopping and that is a good thing.

I hope that on this Saturday that you are feeling great and are surrounded by love and laughter.

Once my boy comes home I will certainly have those feelings.

Even without my boy …. I am surrounded by love and when I laugh, laughter ensues.

So have a great day ……

Maybe today is the day that you will clean out your front hall closet ….

Time to say bye-bye to winter and hello spring and summer.

Or maybe you live on the other side of the world and it is bye-bye summer and hello fall and winter.

Special Hello to: my sister who I want to talk to …. sometime today.  I have lots of phone calls to make.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day….

Good Morning and Welcome to Tuesday the 17th day of December, 2013.

One more day closer to the big one.

Can you stand it?

Are you getting excited?

I still get excited after 56 years.

I still believe that Santa will put something under the tree especially for me.

I believe that we will all have a wonderful day.

Watch a Christmas movie or play a board game or perhaps even both.

I know that we will eat well and say afterwards “I wish that I would have stopped at one helping.”

I know that there will be dishes to be washed.

I know that there will be a floor to sweep.

Wrapping paper to be recycled.

Phone calls to make.

It will be a great day ….. my day.

I love Christmas.

It brings me hope ….

I hope that it brings hope to you and your family.

Hope keeps us living…..

BELIEVE.

If given the opportunity spread your wealth …. no matter the size.

Maybe you can see a Mom in the grocery store and you can tell she doesn’t have enough money to buy the food they would like to buy …..

You could pay for the groceries or maybe buy them a turkey or even a chicken.

Maybe there is a elderly person living down the block and you know they will be alone this Christmas.

You could invite them over for Christmas dinner.

There is always a way to make Christmas special and filled with hope.

To surprise a stranger is the best gift of all.

Show love and your generosity will be rewarded.

I firmly believe that what you give you will receive.

Have a great Tuesday …..

Special Hello to: all those lovely folks who read my blog …. I so appreciate it …. Happy Holidays to You and Your Family.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day….

Good Morning and Welcome to Wednesday, December 26th ….. the day after Christmas or more commonly known in Canada as “BOXING DAY” ….

Today is the day that folks rush out and see what deals they can get ….. there are SALES everywhere.

Me, I am going to stay at home and relax.

Tomorrow is back to the office ….

Just got off the phone with one of my nephews and we had a great talk ….. I love our conversations.

He is a great young man.

Yesterday I was blessed to speak with one of my brothers (called the other one but no answer) and my sister, another nephew’s wife and one of my great nephews.

So I am so happy to have spoke with so many family members.

My daughter just called and is on her way over to have pancakes.  We have so much food so she is going to take some (most of it, hopefully) home.

I had an awesome Christmas.

One of my favourite gifts was a “kick butt” shovel from my son-in-law which I used this morning.

It has a blade on the bottom to cut through ice.  Works perfectly.

Gotta go…… have a great day.

Thank you……

Special Hello to: all those shoppers …. I hope you find lots of deals.

Always, Carol and Alvin
