Good Morning and Welcome to Friday the 9th day of February, 2018.

Happy 41st Birthday to my eldest nephew “T.”

Hard to believe that you are 41 years old, where has the time gone?

Crazy ….

 

So happy that today is Friday and that I made it through this first week back to work after being sick.

Tomorrow is Mr. Alvin’s appointment.

The one that was post phoned from last Saturday.

He has to get his shots, nails trimmed, “bum squeezed” and I think that is about it.

Will be good to get those things caught up.

I do take him on a very regular basis.

 

Also this weekend I am hosting a belated 40 Birthday party for my friend.

It was supposed to have been last weekend, as well.

I am baking a cake tonight.

The party will be on Sunday.

Decorations, I want to come up with some new ideas.

Perhaps I should check out Pinterest.

Have the card and gift to finish wrapping.

 

Well I am also most happy about this …. the weather.

It is warming up one again.

Thank goodness.

Spring is also getting closer.

 

Well I guess I should get this show on the road.

I hope that you have an amazing day.

Oh, one more thing to share.

I met a young woman yesterday who gave me back my faith in humanity.

I cannot give details but suffice to say …. I have faith once again.

Not that I lost it altogether but it was failing.

Good Morning and Welcome to Monday the 6th day of November, 2017.

So this year we have snow and quite a lot of it.

Last year on this day it was raining and not freezing rain.

Funny, how things can be so different from one year to the next.

 

Alvin and I enjoyed our coffee company yesterday morning.

Our old neighbour came by for coffee and to pick up some tea catalogues.

It is that time of year when folks start thinking about picking up gift ideas.

We are keeping our gifts buying to a minimum.

Once again we are going to make and reuse items from around our homes.

It was so much fun last year and so much more environmental friendly.

Those are the gifts that mean the most, the ones that had thought go into the making.

Easy on the pocketbook or wallet, as it goes.

 

So perhaps something to consider.

We all have things around the house that we do not use any longer.

Perhaps something that a family member or friend has mentioned about liking.

Even repurposing an item.

So many great items.

Check on-line for ideas …. Pinterest.

There are so many places to check ….

 

Well almost time to bundle up and head out.

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Tuesday the 24th day of October, 2017.

Another beautiful day on the way.

So grateful to have these warm FALL days.

It will make WINTER shorter and more enjoyable.

 

Can you believe that Halloween is one week from today?

That makes November 1st next Wednesday!

Oh my goodness ….. Christmas decorating just around the corner.

We have scheduled the big event for Friday, November 3rd, 2017.

My daughter is coming to help me.

I saved the DEEP DISH APPLE pie that my friend sent me a couple of weeks ago for that evening.

It is safely sitting in the fridge freezer.

It will be a great evening …… my daughter over …… not just apple pie but DEEP DISH apple pie …… DECORATING the CHRISTMAS TREE.

Over the weekend, I will finish off the decorating.

Once Halloween is over, I will decorate outside as well.

Hopefully the weather holds out for the little TREATERS and for ME.

 

Lots of things coming up.

My favourite times of year are back to back.

 

I have already started the thought and preparation process for our gifts.

Also we had our photos done and it turned out great.

Me, Alvin looks so cute.

I am grateful that my daughter is a photographer, professional one at that.

We should all take a step back from the retail madness and make some personalized gifts for family and friends.

I know that if everyone did that …. retail would suffer ….. people would not get as many hours.

But as things change ….. times change …… jobs change….. the way we do things …..

 

Well here we go …. almost time to leave for the bus.

Thought for the day….

Good Morning and Welcome to Friday the 6th day of September, 2013.

Overcast but warm here in Edmonton.

I hope that you all had an amazing week.

I did something that I have never done before ……

Amanda was over and we watched a Webinar on Pinterest.

Very interesting.  It started on Wednesday and is over at the end of today.

We watched Wednesday and Thursday and Amanda is going to watch it today.

It was all about learning how to use Pinterest for your business.

It always amazes me how many people think of something in these relatively early stages of the social media and turn it into a money maker.

I only wished that I could think of something ….. wouldn’t that be nice.

But as I am only learning about all this technology and am not very savvy … I will likely be a student and not a teacher.

However that being said ….. maybe I could teach other “older” and techno challenged students….. you never know.

So on this my last day of vacation I am going to walk with Alvin to the Vet to pick up his food and toothpaste and then I am going to have coffee and a visit with my friend “G”.

Getting back into the natural order of things.  School has started.

Well have a great day and I will be back tomorrow.

Thought for the day….

Good Morning and Welcome to Thursday the 5th day of September, 2013.

What a gorgeous morning.

Just hopped out of the shower and am ready to grab this day by it’s tail and go for it.

I was thinking about something.

Are you where you thought you would be at this point in your life?

Are you happy?

Are you living life to the fullest extent of your being?

Are you giving back?

Well honestly for me, I do not think that I could have dreamed that I would be doing what I am doing at this stage of my life.

When I was a child and young woman,  I dreamed of a big house with a white fence and now my children would be grown up and likely grandchildren.

But as we all know sometimes we change the course of our lives.

I did that early on but I still dreamed of four children even if it meant they belonged to someone else (blended marriage).

Today I have one daughter, a son-in-law, two grand=puppies and one “son” my Alvin …… they are the BEST.

I am surrounded by loving family and friends.

I am not in a relationship other than with my family and friends.

I work two jobs so that I can live in this house.

My very first house at age 52.

I try to write as much as possible.

I have a jewellery business (small but we will grow) with my daughter.

Making jewellery and writing are my two passions … being creative is wonderful.

I still dream and revise those dreams all the time.

Which I think helps you to grow.

I know that my dreams have changed somewhat but I am SO HAPPY.

Somedays it can be “difficult” being on your own but I know that I CAN DO IT.

I am abundant in so much of my life that the remaining part will catch up and that I know for sure.

I try to give back wherever I can ….

I belong to the Capital City Clean-Up and keep my neighbourhood clean by picking up the trash.

Whenever and wherever I can I help others.

Time is always a good thing to give ….. it has more value than you know.

So get out there …. dream …. revise those dreams ….. give back and live your life.

Good Morning and Welcome to Wednesday the 4th day of September, 2013.

Another gorgeous sunny day here in Edmonton.

This is one of the first times ever that I am kind of blocked.

Not sure what to say.

It is so strange – usually I do not have a problem writing something.

So I guess that means this will be short.

Please forgive me ….

Part of it comes from I can smell the freshly brewed coffee and I am dying for a cup and the other is due to my daughter is over for a visit and we are going to work on our jewellery and watch a webinar (think that is what they are called).

So I will go for now.

I am so grateful to you all for reading my blog and making the number grow weekly.
