Thought for the day ….

Good Morning and Welcome to Sunday the 13th day of January, 2019.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY BROTHER “T” who turns 54 today.

Cannot believe that my youngest brother is 54.

Where has the time gone?

Well the sun is rising but not quite as spectacular as yesterday morning.

But clear skies and not so unpleasant temperatures.

Yesterday was so nice.

I was able to get a few things done around the house before heading out for Alvin’s Vet appointment.

Received a phone call from Teddy’s Mom that they were not going to the farm after all.

Teddy’s Mom was just getting over a cold and his Grand Mom was just out of the hospital.

So they decided to stay home.

She asked if he could come for a play-date and that they could drop him off after Alvin’s appointment, if okay.

I said “Yes.”

We ended up being early to his appointment.

I like to be early.

Had a nice visit with the staff and Dr. K while she administered his second ear treatment.

We set up his next regular appointment which at that time he will need a vaccination (do not remember which one at this point).

So appointment ready for first Saturday in February.

As we approached our house; I had a grand idea.

With the temperature being so warm, I decided that we would walk to Teddy’s house and pick him up for his play-date.

It was 10:00 when we arrived at Teddy’s house which was the time of Alvin’s appointment (talk about early).

Teddy was so excited to see us …. we had a quick visit and then were on our way.

At home I started more laundry and then got some coffee on.

Always love to have coffee in the morning.

The rest of the day ended up playing with the pups, putzing around the kitchen cleaning out cabinets etc.

Just got odds and ends done which was nice.

Teddy went home about 5:00 p.m. or so.

We had a great day.

I always love Teddy’s zest for life.

He loves us and we love him.

Alvin just sneezed.

His sister is coming for pancake breakfast and a visit.

I have not told him as yet as he still has not eaten his breakfast.

He eats when he wants to.

That is okay.

As he is getting older – his routine is changing – most especially on the weekends.

Great day ahead.

I hope that you enjoy this Sunday and that sunny skies are shining down upon you.

Special Hello to: my brother on his Birthday …. Happy Birthday …. I will call you later.

Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Saturday the 8th day of September, 2018.

The sky appears to be multitude of pinks, greys and blues this morning as the sun begins to rise in the morning sky.

Yesterday was over 26 degrees celsius and we enjoyed it.

Today is forecast to be around 20 degrees celsius and then we have rain with mid teen days.

I hope that all of the farmers out there were able to complete the harvest of all their crops.

Sounds like British Columbia is having rain and rain in their forecast so hopefully the fires will all go out soon.

Today Master Teddy – Alvin’s BFF is coming to spend the day with us.

His Papa is going to the farm and his Momma is working so he will come and keep us company.

Just a great play-date.

He is such a happy little guy and always brings such joy to our house.

Both Alvin and I love to have him here.

Bundle of energy that one.

Alvin has his regular 5 or so week pedicure and check-up so Teddy will accompany us.

Oh, I did not have to catch the bus home last night as my daughter picked me up from work.

We went to COSTCO.

COSTCO was busy as usual.

For some reason it took us longer than usual.

After my daughter dropped off me and the groceries and said HI to her little brother.

Alvin of course had his supper.

I put away all of my purchases.

Then went to change out of my work clothes.

After our usual Alvin go round the table or actually under the kitchen table, he was in his harness and we were out the door.

Just Alvin, his water bottle and me.

Poop bags and keys in hand.

It was so beautiful last night.

We thoroughly enjoyed it.

When we arrived near Teddy’s house we saw his Papa outside walking back toward the garage.

Alvin made a dash for him and our friend yelled out in his soft voice “Alvin, hello.”

He invited us into the house.

Teddy ran and jumped up into my arms and gave me a kiss.

He is so darn cute.

I quickly undid Alvin’s leash and he was off – checking every place for food.

Teddy eats a bit here and a bit there so they leave his food out all day.

Not me Alvin.

He eats whatever is out and then looks for more.

We had a nice visit and then off as I needed to get the lawn mowed.

Last night mowed the front and back, trimmed some of the plants in the front flower bed and watered everything as no rain in the forecast until tomorrow.

Well here it is almost time for Teddy to arrive and I need to put on a load of laundry and get that part of the day going.

I hope that you have an amazing Saturday.

Take some time to “stop and smell the roses.”

We actually have roses lining the entrance to our park and I always stop.

It is a reminder to be still and enjoy.

Take care.

Special Hello to: all of my friends all over the world.  Thank you for joining me on this adventure called “life.”

Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Sunday the 25th day of June, 2017.

We have had a glorious weekend here in Edmonton.

The sky was a bright blue earlier but now is clouding over…

I am planning to mow the grass so hopefully if it does rain that it waits for a little while.

Yesterday morning I helped my neighbour move things about from her garage to mine, temporarily.

Alvin had some anxiety issues and one of my friends from down the street heard him and came to the rescue.

She was worried that something had happened to me.

I guess when you live by yourself having people watch out is a good thing.

He was whining and barking as I had put a little wall so that he could not come into the garage from our backyard.

I did not want him to go into the back lane and a car come zooming down …. well you know what I mean.

I had been checking on him everything I came back into the garage but he is definitely a Momma’s boy …. has to be at my side on the weekends.

He is fine during the week but on the weekends when I am home ….. I have to be accessible to him.

All is well.

We had a play date with our friend and her little dog Presley although they really did not play with each other much.

Work in progress.  We had fun and Alvin played with a toy in the back yard …. running and chasing.  So cute.

Well after spending almost 45 minutes on my COUNTDOWN: 60 Days to 60 post I had better get going.

Lots to do.

Have an awesome Sunday.

Looking forward to mowing the grass.

Happy Sunday.

Special Hello to: my friend “V” who has the best ideas.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day…..

Good Morning Everyone!

Alvin had a great play-date yesterday with friends.

In fact, this morning he was much more “quiet” than other mornings of late.

I think it it good for both man and beast or in our case both dog and woman, to play.

We should all plan a play-date.

Take some time to do an activity that you love.

Play with your dog, your cat, your children, your husband, friend, mother, brother or father …. your whomever…

JUST RELAX AND HAVE FUN.

LET YOUR HAIR DOWN ( I love that old phrase).

I wish you all a happy, blessed, awesome, amazing, fun filled Friday and Canadian Thanksgiving weekend.

Take Care.

Always, Carol

Thought for the day……

I just had coffee with one of my new friends.  Donna has two puppy dogs named “Molly and “Aussie”.  Both Alvin and I were blessed to have a “coffee/play date”.  We both enjoyed the company of our new friends.  I just found out that Donna and I are the same age and our birthdays are only a week apart ….. how crazy is that.  So the thought for the day is …… enjoy your friends, new and old.  Tonight my family are coming for supper and to watch Survivor.  How lucky am I?  Extremely. Oh and Alvin is thinking that he is pretty darn lucky, too.  🙂

Please check out the recipe that I just posted ….. it rocks.  So yummy.

Have a great day everyone.

Let me tell you –  YOU ROCK !!!

Always, Carol
