It is a NEW YEAR.

Good Morning All,

Welcome to a dreary looking snowy March day.

We received some snow last evening but thankfully it did not amount to much.

Alvin and I enjoyed a wonderful walk.

Pays to walk on the other side of the street.

Guess that could be said for life as well.

Busy day ahead.

Go and pick up Mr. Humphrey, laundry, coffee break and cleaning.

My daughter and family will be stopping by after their vet appointment at noon today.

Tomorrow I am also looking forward to Teddy and his Mom stopping by for tea and we are going to do a bit of shopping.

So work and company.

Perfect mix.

On this Saturday morning with Alvin at my side.

We are grateful to be here.

Grateful to have electricity, heat and water.

Grateful to have family and friends near.

Grateful to have each other.

Grateful to be in good health (that is so important).

Grateful to have tea to sip upon in the evenings and coffee in the mornings.

Grateful for weekends and weekdays.

Grateful for work and for play.

Grateful to Mother Nature for a mix of weather.

Grateful for life.

Well I see that it has begun to snow again.

So I had better get this show on the road.

Crazy we have already been up for more than one hour and I feel as though nothing done.

Do you stress or worry about not getting everything done?

Well you are not alone.

Today on this Saturday, we will do what we can and enjoy it all.

Relax, work, play, work, play and relax.

Mix it up.

You will never have those moments back again.

If you have an opportunity to play, then play.

If you have an opportunity to see someone, then see someone.

If you have an opportunity to try something new, then try that something new.

If you have an opportunity to help a friend, neighbour or stranger, then do so.

Every moment brings possibilities and in that moment it is ours to grasp.

Happy Saturday.

Happy Saturday.

Play in the snow.

Snuggle with your favourite neighbour’s cat.

Walk your doggies.

Talk to your family, friends and even your pets.

Be Happy.

Be Yourself.

Treating the world including yourself with kindness and respect.

Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day ….

Good Morning and Welcome to Saturday the 30th day of March, 2019.

There is a beautiful sunrise this morning.

The sky is clear and blue.

Alvin and I are preparing for our company.

Master Teddy, Alvin’s BF will be spending the day with us.

Our house always feels full of energy when Teddy visits.

We simply love him.

He has good energy and a wonderful spirit.

Last night we went for a walk after I got home from work.

I was home much later as I caught the bus home and then had to stop for a few things.

First time in forever that I bought a bag of groceries and it was under $100 and then under $50.

All we needed was some veggies, dish soap and toothpaste.

This morning we will be taking a walk over to Alvin’s Vet to pick up food and toothpaste for him.

It will be a nice walk for the boys.

I am hoping that the sidewalks are mostly dry.

Having two pups to clean upon arriving back home could prove to be interesting.

Oh well, I will be prepared with a wet cloth and towel.

Back to the walk last night.

Alvin got very muddy once again.

We seem to find every bit of water and dirt no matter how hard I try.

We walked for 45 minutes and once again he had energy to play with his “DUCK.”

So that is good.

More exercise – more energy.

Food for thought.

Well on that note time for breakfast for both of us.

I wanted to have a shower before breakfast and before our company arrives.

Feeling fresh and ready to conquer the day.

If you have a chance go for a walk.

The longer the better.

Walk by a park or a pond and take in nature.

So soothing and good for the mind, body and spirit.

Happy Saturday.

From our home to yours.

Have a wonderful day.

Special Hello to:  all the creatures on this Earth.

Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day ….

Good Morning and Welcome to Saturday the 17th day of February, 2018.

It is a glorious morning with the sun shining and not TOO COLD (no wind).

Yesterday when I arrived home from work the wind had blown over my decorative tree that was sitting in the corner of my front porch.

Some of the red flowers had got loose and were laying in the snow.

I grabbed the flowers and set the tree back up.

This is the second time in about one week that the wind has blown over the tree so time to put it into the garage.

So after I went into the house and let Mr. Alvin outside (as he really had to pee, bursting at the seams) and gave him his supper; I put the tree away into the garage.

Well after dozing and relaxing until quite late this morning 9:10; we got the day started.

Now Mr. Alvin is another story – he first wanted up at 4:30 – had his breakfast and hit the sofa for some extra zzz’s.

Man, 4:30 a.m. is way TOO early on a Saturday for this Momma but if the boy needs/wants to eat etc.; well I just have to accommodate him.

We did not stay laying down from 4:30 to 9:10, no way, we were up about five times.

Sometimes I think he just wants me to get up early and stay up.

As soon as I rise, he quickly lays down in my spot.

Guess he is trying to tell me something.

The coffee is on and brewed and I smell can the glory of the aroma wafting up to my office ….. I want to share a day in our life from Thursday, February 17, 2011.

Alvin had been a part of our family for just over one year at that time….

****************************

Well here it is Thursday, February 17th, 2011.  Wow.  The sun is shining.  I imagine the birds are singing if there were any around.  The weather channel states the temperature with the windchill to be minus 34.  YAY.  Alvin is lying on the hallway floor.  I think he is bored.  I am kind of bored, too.  There are lots of things that I should, and could be doing but somehow “my get and go” has got up and left.  I am going to my daughter’s this afternoon to visit with the puppies (that will perk me up).  I think it is the “winter blues” …… or at least part of it.  But I will dwell only upon GOOD FEELINGS.  I am blessed.  I have abundance in my life.  Last night I went out.  Yes, I did.  Went with my neighbour and friends to the Jubilations Dinner Theatre at West Edmonton Mall.   It was amazing.  The play “Mamma Mio!” was based on Mama Mia, the musical.  It was great.  The actors were both funny, and had great singing voices.  Some of the audience members that were asked to join them on stage at different times during the evening …… really got into the spirit of the evening.  Most of the ladies at our table had the vegetarian meal (so wonderful that they had something on the menu for us non-meat eating folks).  The main course and the dessert (I had the triple layer chocolate cake) were EXCELLENT.  I had a taste of going out again.  It has been awhile since I have gone out for an evening.  I had such a glorious time.  We visited in between acts and enjoyed each other’s company.  Two of the ladies were friends of my neighbour’s so I was meeting them for the first time.  The other two gals were relatives of my friend (and neighbour), and I had met them prior to last night.  We had a blast.  I love people.  Love meeting people.

So I guess the thought for this day is …….. no matter where you are in your life.  Surround yourself when possible, with people.  Get out there and meet new “friends”.  We “human beings” are SPECTACULAR & AMAZING.  I always love hearing each person’s stories.  It is great to learn about the lives of other people.  What makes them happy, excited and gives them flight.

Alvin stayed at home, and as always for the first 20 seconds was HAPPY to see me.  Then after that …… he was more than happy to show me “who really is the boss in our house” and you know what that is okay.  He’s my guy.

So have a great Thursday everyone.

Always, Carol

Well back to reality ….. get into day time clothes ….. finish gathering the laundry ….. DRINK COFFEE.

Have an awesome Saturday.

Special Hello to: my sister, who always makes me laugh; oh, you crazy girl.

Always, Carol & Alvin.

Thought for the day ….

Good Morning and Welcome to Monday the 19th day of June, 2017.

A bright and sunny day to start the work week.

There was a brief storm last night but it passed over most quickly.

We had a great weekend.

Time for work and for play.

Likely did not listen to enough music, though.

We walked …. played in the dirt …… got wet in the rain.

The We, being me and Alvin.

So for this week I forecast: sunny skies and a world full of KIND people.

How wonderful would that be?

If we, everyone was KIND it would be a better place.

Let us strive to be KIND.

Spread the KINDNESS.

Well time to go …. the time to leave the house comes fast each day.

Have an awesome Monday.

Thank you for reading my blog.

Happy Monday.

Special Hello to:  my sister …… getting closer.

Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Friday the 11th day of September, 2015.

Still getting used to it being dark but soon it will be light.

Oh, Mr. Alvin just let out a huge sigh.

I wished that I could spend my days at home with him.

We would take long walks like we used to …. go exploring.

We would snuggle more….

We would just be.

We do the best that we can for now.

Ever opportunity for a belly rub or to snuggle.

The one thing that I could do more is “play” …. throw the ball.

We do have one game that he loves …

Out on the deck.

I pretend to be a “monster” for lack of a better word … only by raising my hands above my head and taking a wider stance with my feet placement and growling.

He then takes his nose down posture a little bark ….. bit of a jump in the air and off he runs.

Up and down the stairs and across the deck.

He is so cute to watch.

It is my favourite time with him other than when we are snuggled at night time.

On the deck he runs and that little hop jump thing that he does …. honestly I laugh it is so darn cute.

Well I opted to stay on the sofa until 5:50 a.m. this morning which gave me 50 minutes to: write in my gratitude journal, make and eat breakfast, makeup and dressed, and my blog ……

YAY …. I did it.

Well time to put in one last day at the office before the weekend.

It is a great day.

I am so grateful for everyone and everything in my life.

For every door that is opened and every one that is closed.

For every giggle and every tear.

For every bit of food and for every meal.

For living in a country that is peaceful.

For my life …. it is a great one ….

Well time to run to catch the bus and let Mr. Alvin out one last time.

Have an awesome Friday.

Remember everything that happens is an opportunity to do better.

That is what I think and work on doing.

Someone once said if you say “work on” instead of “try” you will do it.

Special Hello to: my sister “C” …..

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day….

Good Morning and Welcome to Thursday the 6th day of February, 2014.

Can you believe it?

Thursday again ….. didn’t we just have one.

Isn’t it great that we keep getting Thursdays.

I love Thursdays.

It might be my favourite day of the week.

Although I do love Saturdays …. for different reasons.

Do you love Sundays because you can perhaps relax and enjoy a day at home?

Do you love Mondays because it is the “first” day of the week?

Do you love Tuesdays just because you can?

Do you love Wednesdays because it is the middle of the week?

Do you love Fridays because it is the start of the weekend?

Do you love Saturdays because it is the weekend?

Well lots of reasons to enjoy each day of the week.

Whether it is for work or play …..

Each day of the week is always a good thing.

Enjoy your Thursday ….. I am certain that I will.

Special Hello to: my family back in Regina ….. miss you all ….. there are some special birthdays just around the corner ….. 🙂

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day…..

Good Friday Morning ….. today is March 9th, 2012 ….. Incredible…..

This morning I was in awe once again by the beauty of the moon.

When we first went outside the moon was covered by a veil of clouds but as soon as I wished to see it …… well the veil lifted, and there was the moon …. all full and stuff.

I love the moon and the stars.

Perhaps within my lifetime it will be commonplace to travel to the moon.  That would be so amazing.

I would love to go and see it up close and personal.

I have always had an infinity for what lies beyond our “doors” so to speak.

Can you imagine?  Just close your eyes and visualize Earth, the moon and what lies beyond.

Incredible.

So I hope that you have a great weekend …… play with your imagination ….. whether imaging what lies beyond Earth, a good dinner, trip to another country, sunshine on a cloudy day, winning the lottery ….. let your mind go… PLAY…

We spend so much time working to keep a roof over our heads, food in our bellies and the whole nine yards that sometimes we forget to take a few minutes for play.  I think playing using your mind to imagine your dreams or something that you would like to have is a great way to accomplish just that …… you can do it anywhere …. anytime.  GOOD LUCK AND HAVE FUN.   YOU CAN DO IT.

Special Hello to:  all those people who take the time  to use their imaginations and visualize their dreams and what their lives could be.

Always, Carol and Alvin (who is so cute curled up on the ottoman underneath the window in my office …..)
