The New YEAR 2022

Good Morning ALL! Welcome to Wednesday, March 9, 2022. How are you today? Alvin and I are well. Running on time for a welcome change. The sky is filled with a mix of ribbons of clouds in dark blue and orange. So pretty. Honestly I could sit by the window or lay on the ground and just gaze upon the majesty of the sky all day long. The night is lifting and it is light outside at this time. On this coming weekend not only does my beautiful daughter celebrate her birthday but the time changes. We move our clocks forward in the early hours of Sunday, March 13, 2022. So one hour ahead. Usually the time changes take us at least a couple of weeks to adjust.

Yesterday after work my daughter delivered our Costco order. It was good to catch up with her before she headed home after a long busy day at the office. Her job is very busy. So she is always happy to go home.

We had a bit of snow last night but only a little. The next couple of days are going to be colder than normal for this time of year. Spring is just around the corner. Easter is later than usual.

I am sending as much good energy and thoughts as possible to the people of Ukraine and of Russia. Not everyone in Russia is wanting to be fighting a war. We want this over soon before any more loss of life and property. Always the rebuilding is difficult afterwards. People losing family and homes and businesses. We always forget about the animals and the environment when there is a war. I am grateful that there are counties including Canada that are taking in the Ukraine people that are able to flee their homeland. In 2022, it is very sad that this is happening. There are no words. It is like history repeating itself. I think that future generations will read our history books and shake their heads in disbelief.

On this Wednesday I am grateful that I live in a country where even though not all people are happy with our Prime Minister at least he is not a person wanting to take over the neighbouring country no matter the consequences. We should think about that. We are so blessed in so many ways. We have so much.

Continuing to live this life with kindness, respect, compassion, patience, love, laughter, understanding, gratitude, focus and possibilities.

Always, Carol & Alvin

Living … One day at a time.

Hello, good morning.

Another “dry” morning outside.

I hear there might be some moisture coming our way.

I sure wish and hope that it stays away at least until after Halloween.

Always nice for the TRICK & TREATERS to have warm dry weather and also for the homes.

Everytime we open the door …..

I love seeing all of the neighborhood children coming around.

Some of the costumes are full of thoughtful consideration.

Cannot wait.

I am going to be HARRY POTTER.

At this time I have a similar hair style/cut so why not.

Well Monday morning again.

So happy that I was the first one to wake up this morning at 4:15 a.m.

We did go downstairs and then hit the sofa for a few extra zzz’s.

Today is FEDERAL ELECTION DAY in CANADA.

I feel every election whether provincial or federal there are no clear choices.

So what do you do?

Pick the lesser of the evil so to speak?

If it was the party only it may not be so difficult.

But these leaders are not proper leaders in my opinion.

How could we have one of them representing us on a daily basis on the world stage?

Well I guess one of them already has been.

Not sure he has done such a great job.

Now lots of folks would disagree with me and that is okay.

After all we live in a Democracy and I have the right to my opinion.

Anyway I have today to make up my mind.

I have thought about not voting but really that is not an option.

I feel that voting is a privilege that has been fought long and hard to obtain.

So not voting is not an option.

Well I guess it is almost time to hit the trail.

Back to work.

Alvin and I had a great weekend.

We saw our girl.

I even went shopping.

We had wonderful walks.

Alvin and I had our photos taken to put in with our Christmas cards.

We visited with Teddy and his Mom.

Even did some work in between all of the socializing, shopping and walking.

So blessed.

Please treat every living creature you come upon this day and every day.

With kindness and respect.

That is the way we should all be treated.

Not an option in my book.

Everyone deserves kindness and respect.

They do.

Happy Monday.

Watch over us all.

Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Saturday the 23rd day of September, 2017.

So grateful for the sunny blue skies of this morning.

What a great sight after several days of cloud and rain.

How can the rest of the world quietly stand by and listen to two “powerful” leaders bully and demean each other, and threaten nuclear war.

Are we not taking this seriously?

Perhaps we should.

It is the actions of mad men that truly scares me.

The stark reality of this is nuclear war if other countries do not intervene.

At the very least much unrepairable damage to the environment.

How can reports say this will not happen?

Are you kidding me?

Kim Jong Un  just wants a reason, and he will not step down on his own.

Kim Jong Un and Donald Trump are taking “leadership” to a whole other level.

I would be so incredibly embarrassed if my Prime Minister spoke or acted in this manner.

Maybe, everyone on this planet needs to step up and put an end to this craziness.

It is hard to believe that in 2017 we still have mad men leading countries and wars killing millions.

I guess nothing has been learned over the last thousands of years.

Feeling disappointed …..

Back to my current reality of doing laundry, cleaning the house, grocery shopping and such.

But I do think about the status of the planet and the human beings that inhabit it.

Feeling sorry that we are in this state of affairs.

Special Hello to: every creature on this planet and I wished that I had a way to stop the madness.

Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Monday the 19th day of October, 2015.

Happy 7th Wedding Anniversary to my daughter and son-in-law.

Alvin and I wish you all the best on this special day and may your life from this day forward be filled with nothing but perfect health, great joy, love, laughter and abundance.

Happy Anniversary ……

I was thinking this morning as today is the Federal Election for Canada.

Today we VOTE for our Prime Minister …. possibly a new party taking the helm in Canada.

The thought that popped into my head was this:  can you imagine going to bed on Sunday night in your own house like you always do; waking up the next morning to anxiously await your destiny.

Tuesday morning wake to “Mr. Prime Minister” or “Madam Prime Minister.”

How strange and exciting would that be.

One day you are a normal citizen walking into Starbucks for a coffee and the next day someone gets your coffee.

I like that ….. wouldn’t that be nice.

Well I cannot say that I would like to be Prime Minister …. it is a huge job.

In the beginning you are the STAR because the people voted you into the job.

Somewhere down the road things fall apart or things do not go the way “we” think they should (because we do not necessarily know the whole big picture) and then you are not the shining star.

Oh well, tough job.

I wish all of the candidates the best of luck …. win or lose.

To all my fellow Canadians who are of the age of majority – get out and VOTE.

Every vote is important.

Well almost time to go to work.

Catch that bus.

Special Hello: my sister and my great niece “S” …. so great to SKYPE last night….. have a great day.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day……

Good Morning and Welcome to Sunday the 18th day of May, 2014.

It started out being bright and sunny but now the sky is beginning to overcast with dark clouds.

Well yesterday was a huge success.

Me and Alvin spent 2.5 hours out and about in our neighbourhood putting up posters for the big neighbourhood cleanup on May 31st.

We spoke or rather I spoke and Mr. Alvin did his thing ….. engaging everyone we met.

He should really run to be Mayor or Prime Minister.

I would vote for him.

It was so great to be outside for a nice long period of time.

It was warm and I was glad that I took water for Alvin to drink.

We enjoyed our afternoon immensely.

Visiting and playing with the tape dispenser.

That packing tape is always so much fun to use. …… not …..

Well time to go and feed Miss Aussie …… she enjoyed having the window open yesterday, and having some fresh air.

Oh, so exciting there have been so many robins in our area.

They make me happy …. I love their song ….. their chirping ….. so lovely.

So on this fine Sunday …. maybe take a walk in your neighbourhood ….

You can always take along a little bag just in case you see some trash blowing about ….

Thank you in advance.

Have a wonderful Sunday…..

Special Hello to: all those people who do volunteer work …. you rock.

Thank you

Always, Carol and Alvin
