It is a NEW YEAR.

Happy Friday Everyone!

The sun is rising and is more subtle color wise and vibrancy wise.

But beautiful all the same.

Happy today is Friday.

Today is also the day that I work the late shift.

Once every couple of weeks or so the staff or some of the staff are assigned to work from 11:00 a.m. till 7:00 p.m.

It is from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. (our office closes at 4:00 p.m. and that is when we have the phones answered by a security company).

So today some of us staff are manny the calls from the public from 4-7 p.m.

Being on the phones is my least favourite part of my job.

Now that we are using our cell phones it is a bit more challenging as at the office I had a headset which made speaking and using the computer easier.

Oh well, I am grateful to have a job and being paid.

I am grateful to have NO commute and to be at home with Alvin.

This is time with him that I would not have had, had I been working at the office.

So grateful for our time together.

I am not certain what the temperature is at the moment.

Perhaps we will have time before I start work at 11:00 a.m. to go for a walk.

Time will tell.

We have five minutes less than three hours.

My daughter brought a chair for me yesterday.

It is way more comfortable than my current one.

That should make my days of sitting easier.

When we went for a walk after work my lower back was giving me a lot of pain so I think that I had better start doing some stretches.

It was a bit brisk but a very enjoyable walk.

Odd how the pain went away when I got home and was not walking.

Definitely not getting as much exercise as in a regular day.

Even at the office I would get up multiple times during the day to pick up letters from the printer.

So have to be careful.

I am going to start including stretches and other exercises into my days.

Likely a good idea for all of us who are sitting most of our days.

I then sit in the evening as well.

So happy to have had some time with my daughter.

Mr. Alvin is resting on his bed beside me in the office.

I will say that it is not nearly as bright out this morning and I think that they did forecast snow for today.

I will check the temperature and I think we may sneak out for a walk in a little bit.

A walk before I sit all day would be a great idea.

I know that so many of us are staying home and practicing the social distancing but how many folks are not.

Please unless you absolutely have to go out …. stay home.

I think of all my friends who are in Healthcare, work in grocery stores, fire fighters, police, custodians, and all those jobs that provide essentials to our well being.

So grateful for them all.

Please be safe.

The sooner everyone listens and pays attention to what our health care and government leaders are instructing us to do, the sooner the VIRUS will be gone.

Take care.

Well time to get dressed and have some breakfast.

Check the weather.

Clean up the poop.

Yes, someone has to watch after Mr. Alvin.

I have to do some shovelling but will see how much time I have …..

Be safe.

Live your lives in kindness and with respect.

We got this.

You got this.

I/We remain,

Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day ….

Good Morning and Welcome to Thursday the 22nd day of November, 2018.

Another beautiful day on the way.

Last night I went with my friend and her daughter to the Guides Christmas Cookie Sale.

I bought an assortment of cookies and baking.

We arrived with perfect timing as we were about 5 people from the front of the line.

We got in picked our cookies and such, there were crafts and games.

Had some refreshments and were back home before 7:30 p.m.

Which was so nice to have some time before going to bed.

It was a lovely nice and so great to beat the crowds.

Mr. Alvin was up off and on last night.

He did reluctantly let me clean his ears this morning.

I would not say that it was a perfect job but at least something.

He has always been sensitive about his ears and feet.

I have a feeling he may have an infection.

Hopefully not.

I could not smell anything bad ( yes, I am the infection smeller ).

Thankfully his appointment is this Saturday morning bright and early.

If there is no improvement tonight we might go tomorrow after work.

Poor little guy and poor mama, for reduced quality sleep.

We should be able to take in another nice walk right after work tonight.

Just let Mr. Alvin outside and then harness him up and away we go.

I am going to go on a walk at work as well.

I need to get up from my desk and go for a 15 minute walk at lunch.

Sitting on my butt all day with only getting up to go to the printer and bathroom is not nearly enough.

Also have to drink MORE water.

I hope that you are doing great.

Are you drinking enough water?

So important.

Are you getting some exercise?

Fresh air and moving your body is so important.

Good for body, mind and soul.

Well almost time to go.

Running a tad bit late.

Have a wonderful Thursday.

Special Hello: to my sister …. miss you little one.

Thought for the day…..

Good Morning and Welcome to Sunday the 23rd day of November, 2014.

The sky is bright with the sun.

Yesterday all I remember was snow from the time I woke up until the time I went to bed.

Mr. Sun is a welcome sight.

Whenever the sun is shining in the morning I always feel warm and full of light ….. always gives me a good feeling for the day.

So off to a great start for this Sunday the 23rd day of November, 2014.

Mr. Alvin in all his cuteness is looking out the window taking in the sights of the neighbourhood.

Not sure what he is looking for but he keeps his eyes focused just in case.

Of the top ten things that have happened to me during my lifetime he ranks very high.

I likely would not have agreed during the first month that I adopted him but once we got over that bump in the road it has been smooth sailing.

I can honestly say he is in my top ten right next to my daughter.

Funny how one day you can go from almost no snow to a thick blanket……

Well at this time I am enjoying my first cup of coffee and perhaps will even finish it before I leave the house.

Oh, almost forgot to mention this.

Yesterday I had big plans to prepare the letter that I send out with my Christmas cards.

So I was busy looking for a Christmas border or little Christmas widget on-line and found a few things.

So I began to type my letter and when I was almost finished I decided to put the replacement cartridges into the printer.

I took them out of the packaging and put them in.

They fit but as I looked at the screen that had said processing as I tried to print ….. it then said “did not recognize the cartridges.”

So I compared the model numbers and found out that I had purchased the wrong ones.

Well too late now.

AS I had to tear the packaging in order to get them out and then had opened them and actually had them in the machine.

What a waste of approximately $80.00.

Lesson learned.

Well maybe I can put them on KIJIJI and see if someone needs them.

Well time to go and finish getting ready.

Just had to share that experience.

I must remember to be more careful ….. they looked the same …. same size and colours.

Special Hello to: fellow bloggers …. sunny day ahead.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day…..

Welcome to Monday, November 19th, 2012……

I hope that you had a great weekend.

I had one of those weekends.

There were a few moments …. perhaps minutes where I was less than my stellar, positive self.

I was trying to print something and the word document, computer and printer were just not cooperating.

It had to be something that I was missing but I tried everything and nothing worked.

So after 1 1/2 hours of try after try …. and in between bouts of tears I gave up.

Also I might add that somewhere in there I called my daughter ….

It wasn’t for help but to vent ….. someone just to listen to me.

I am certain that Mr. Alvin must have thought that his Momma had lost her mind but he just looked at me ….. as if to say ….. it will be okay.

But there is nothing like wanting to get something completed only to have it not.

So I went and prepared supper (which was getting late) ….. the stir fry was great.

I did manage to do another aspect of my project while watching television and that went okay.

On Sunday my daughter and “Penny” my grand puppy came for coffee before I left for work at the store.

When we discussed “the night before” …… I told her that I had been thinking that it would have been nice to have had someone to “vent” too.

She said that I should “write it in blog” and I said that I was thinking about having a forum where “folks were are alone” could come and vent, get things off their chest.

Perhaps SKYPE or something.  I am a great listener or so I have been told.

I just know that having someone to listen to me would have helped.

Besides just imagine all those poor dogs and cats out there would are thinking ….  “What do to do, what to do?”

So perhaps that could be something that I could do in my “spare time” ……

Somedays all it takes is a “good ear” ……. right.

I hope that you have someone to listen to you when you are less than your “stellar self” …. we all have those moments.

I must admit that I am blessed that my moments only last a short time …. a few minutes or maybe a couple of hours.

Even though Alvin couldn’t comfort me with words ….. he did give me comfort by being here.

He is and will always be a great companion.

Have a great day……

Remember if someone even a total stranger starts talking about something to you ….. just let them be and you listen.

Everyone needs a “shoulder” or an “ear” once in awhile.

Lend one …. it does not cost you anything but good will.

Take care.

Thanks for listening …. I appreciate it.

Special Hello to:  all those listeners … you rock.

Always, Carol and Alvin

P.S. venting does not have to be necessarily “in anger” …. it can just be a moment of frustration….
