Thought for the day ….

Good Morning and Welcome to Sunday the 2nd day of October, 2016.

It started out being bright and sunny with no rain clouds in sight.

Now a little while later the clouds are starting to roll in.

Yesterday it rained off and on all day long.

It was a good thing that I had lots of things to keep me busy in the house.

I even managed to give Mr. Alvin a hair cut.

Here is Mr. Alvin in all his glory taken only a few minutes ago and also my tree out front.

I raked the leaves all nicely on Fright night and woke up to this on Saturday morning along with a few more fallen since then.

Well I am late for a coffee date so must run.

Happy Sunday.

Special Hello: to friends and family.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Sunday the 5th day of June, 2016.

It is a glorious bright, sunny warm with a slight cool breeze.

Does not get more perfect than that.

Yesterday’s birthday party was amazing.

We laughed and cried, well I cried, I do that sometimes.

Things can get emotional.

My friend baked a red velvet cake for the birthday girl.

We also had muffins and watermelon to begin the party with …..

It was a great visit and party.

We all had fun.

I kept physically busy yesterday by cleaning up the front lawn after my little garden dig ….

Followed by laundry, washed down the house and deck and front porch.

Mowed the back lawn as my neighbour that I share the front lawn with had mowed the front, thank you “S.”

Vacuumed the main and upstairs floor followed by steam mopping them.

Of course, dusting and bathrooms….. cannot forget them.

I will say that hauling my Electrolux canister vacuum up and down is a work out in itself.

After all of my work and supper was done ….. and a MOVIE …. Alvin and I joined another neighbour for an extra long walk …. over one hour.

So nice.

It was perfect outside (that was about 8:50 p.m.).

Well today I am preparing to call and email customers to see if they would like to order some tea as we have one back in stock that was a huge favourite.

After that I am going to canvas for the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

I have two routes both in my immediate neighbourhood so that is great.

I figured that as I received the kits a few days ago that I had better get right on it as time seems to evaporate.

In February I helped canvas for the Heart Fund.

Nice to help out.

Update:  Alvin has definitely made a game out of pushing his chew treat off the sofa … off the front porch ….

Also yesterday when I was working out front … I had Alvin on the front porch with no leash.

Carefully keeping an eye on him and talking to him to remind him to stay.

He was doing good considering my neighbour’s sister was visiting and she was out front in her vehicle.

Anyway …. he decided to go and say hi …. so I walked over …. before I knew it he was doing 360’s on the front lawn.

He ran from one side to the other semi losing his balance and slipping but happily free and playing.

It was fun to watch.

When he was done I called him to the porch steps …. ( I was right there – watching him).

We can hear some dogs big and small barking outside and with the window open Alvin perked up to listen.

Now they have stopped.

You never know what goes on …. I just know that I love and respect my Alvin and I do the best to keep him safe, healthy and happy.

Well I had better get this show on the road.

Ended up really late last night and Alvin was up at 4:30 a.m. (per usual) ….. I thought going to bed after midnight might help him to sleep in but I was wrong.

So we hit the sofa for a few more zzzz’s ….. I needed it.

So lots to do.

I hope that you have an awesome day.

Happy Sunday to you.

Special Hello to:  my sister, looking forward to the SKYPE visit after supper – about 6:30 p.m. ???

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Monday the 5th day of October, 2015.

What a glorious weekend and Sunday.

Yesterday Alvin and I pulled and cleaned the flowers from the front flower bed, raked all of the leaves from the lawn, emptied the remaining flower pots, cut and raked the back lawn, trimmed one of my shrubs in the back, put away all of the furniture and ornaments from the deck and rearranged and cleaned the garage.  Took us just over 3 hours but it is done.  YAY us.

By the way, I did find that moving the river rock top bistro/steel table from one side of the deck and one of the big pots to the garage is getting to be a challenge.

I guess I had better start lifting weights …..

The remaining hours of the day were spent doing laundry, making invites for my upcoming Open House for Steeped Tea and a walk before supper.  We walked and delivered some invitations so double duty and were even invited in for a visit.  Alvin was spoiled ……

It is always amazing to me just how much Alvin gives to everyone by just being himself.

No words …. no amazing deeds ….. no gifts of perfume or ties …… no invitations for coffee or out for dinner …… he gives so much by just being himself.

A lesson for us all.

Our four-legged darlings ….. we love them and they love us.

This can be said for all of our babies ….. right ……

Mr. Cuteness ….. just by looking at someone gives so much.

I sure love him and even on the darkest of days he makes me feel special and needed, loved and appreciated.

Well it is almost time to head out the door for another day at the office.

I am grateful to have a beautiful home complete with Alvin, to be employed and have all of the things I think that I need and lots that I want.

On this Monday give your four-legged friend some positive and loving attention and maybe even a special treat.

Have a great day.

Special Hello: to my cousin “J”, once again thank you so much.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day ….

Good Morning and Welcome to Sunday the 20th day of September, 2015.

Three more days until it is officially fall, September 23rd.

There was no rain when Alvin and I were first up at 4:30 a.m. ….. I have an early bird for a household companion.

Woe is me …… well actually not, because he does lay down after he goes outside and eats breakfast.

Now it has been raining for a few hours not exactly sure how many.

I am so grateful that I spent the time outside yesterday doing yard work.

Mowed the front including my neighbours and the back.

Raked it all including some leaves that have turned and fallen.

Pulled flowers and cleaned out some of the “13” flower pots that I planted.

The impatiens out in the front flower bed are doing well thus far so I left them.

Also left some of the pots out back as they were doing well.

Rearranged and tidied up the garage.

Pulled some weeds between our garages and our houses.

Watered the remaining flowers …..

Even enjoyed a snack and coffee on the deck in the sunshine.

It was fabulous.  So nice.

Back inside: I finally rearranged the basement (after the dry wall now complete); did six loads of laundry, vacuumed and dusted and bathroom…… whew.

Closet in the office will have to wait for another day……

Alvin was outside this morning and he was looking up and barking.

He barked for a few minutes before I figured out what he was barking about ….. it was the lily pad ornament and piece of rock that I had set up on the railing by the garage but had forgot to put away inside.

Mr. Alvin reminded me to put it away …… a bit late but better late than never, right.

What a guy.

I am going to whip up a batch of pancakes.

My daughter is coming for a visit this afternoon and we will have pancakes for a snack/late lunch.

Alvin gets another haircut and bath.

Seems like I just cut his hair …. yes, only a few weeks ago.

Later when my friend finishes her Steeped Party sales I will enter them and submit the party.

I also have to run out for a couple of errands at the store / drugstore.

Then after supper I am going to simply relax and watch some of the new fall line-up.

I hope that you are having a great Sunday and make sure that you take the time to relax.

So important to your well being.

I know sometimes if you are the only one that does the house work, outdoor stuff, you work, children and or pets, part-time job, and whatever else you may have on your plate or all of the above…… taking the time to RELAX does not feel like an option but you must.  If you are not well then none of those things will get done.

Well it is time for this gal to get the show on the road ….. whip up the pancakes and make them so just have to warm them up….. so easy peasy.

Then cutting Mr. Alvin’s hair well that is not exactly the easiest most especially his paws.

But I will do my best as always.

Happy Sunday.

Special Hello to: all the inhabitants on the this planet whether two or four-legged, fish or fowl … Hello.

Not to forget the Ants, LadyBugs, Dragonflies and such.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day….

Good Morning and Welcome to Wednesday the 23rd day of October, 2013.

Another great day to be alive.

Good news our Miss Penny is feeling better, and we hope to have good news about her tests soon.

Last night I raked our front lawn.

Always amazing how many leaves can fall off one tree, and also ones blown from the neighbour’s yard as we have no breaks between our lawns.

Sure were beautiful colours.

The richness of the burgundy, the brilliance of the gold and the fun of the orange.

This is part of the reason why I love this time of year.

At the same time, I have a single red rose blooming in my back “rock” garden.

Amazing.

Soon we will be continuing onto the next season.

This also holds a specialness in my heart.

I love Christmas.

Not too long and I will be putting up my Christmas Tree.

OH yeah…

Take one Saturday, my wonderful daughter and a couple cups of cocoa, a few decorations or so, and you end up with a Christmas tree all done up in the middle of my living room.

So lots to look forward to in the near future.

Halloween just around the corner.

Life continues to be amazing.

Special Hello to: my friends Les and Gwen who travelled to Edmonton and tried to see me but alas I missed them.  I am sad that I missed seeing them.  Thank you friends for thinking of me.

Always, Carol and Alvin
