Living … One day at a time.

Good Morning,

Another beautiful double digit day on the way.

Yesterday was gorgeous at  +15 degrees celsius.

Bright sunshine – just perfect.

After work once Alvin was done outside and with supper; we went for a walk.

I took my equipment with me and by that I mean a large black garbage bag and disposable gloves.

A couple of days ago or three now there was a bag of garbage strewn over a small area just inside our park; close to the trees by the water.

For two days we walked by and it was there each time.

This time I was not going to be one of the ones to go by and either think “who would do that” or just totally ignore the trash.

Not me, cannot do that.

It meant taking and using a big garbage bag and a pair of disposable gloves but my neighbourhood is important to me.

Not only did we clean that up but I filled to the brim two of Alvin’s poopy bags with small trash.

I will never understand how people can walk by and not pick it up.

Anyway, happy to report that once again the park is clean.

I noticed a few pieces of trash alongside the sidewalk closer to my house but I had run out of bags by the time I got home.

Does that not figure?

Anyway another job for this evening’s walk.

I am going to start carrying a plastic grocery bag (if I have any as I use recycled bags).

Life in the fast lane.

We thoroughly enjoyed our walk.

I was so proud of my little rockstar as he stayed out of the garbage as I was picking it up.

You see I was holding him on his leash with one hand and picking up and holding the garbage bag with the other.

I managed.

After I raked all of the leaves on the weekend and cleaned the inbetween part with the stones; everyone else’s leaves had blown all over the yard.

So last night for the third time the front lawn was raked.

Humphrey was over (had picked him up after our walk) and the boys watched me through the living room window.

I also submitted some NORWEX orders.

It was a busy night but felt good to get some chores done.

The one thing that I didn’t do was the exercises …

I have been doing some stretching exercises for the past couple of days.

Makes a difference.

Will be doing them tonight.

Oh, we met Rosie’s Dad last night.

In the early morning I met Rosie and her Mom while waiting for my ride to arrive.

I must say that Rosie is a lucky pup.

They both think the world of her, too.

Another successful RESCUE story.

I hope to hear many more.

Oh, our Humphrey boy.

He is just so cute.

Well time to fly here.

I hope that you all have an awesome day.

Remember to fill your life with kindness and respect.

One small act of kindness can change someone’s life.

I guarantee it will change yours as well.

Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Friday the 6th day of January, 2016.

Today is the birthday of one of my dear friends back in Regina.

Alvin and I would like to take this opportunity to WISH her an awesome Birthday.

Happy Birthday “L.”

On the home front, I picked up my second pair of new glasses last night and I love them.

Now I have two new pairs of glasses that I can alternate.

One of them has custom sunglass clips so that I no longer require to carry around a separate pair of sunglasses.

So much easier.

Alvin helped me shovel the deck and driveway last night.

I shovelled the snow from the front by myself.

It was starting to get cold or at least with the wind so the back was enough for Mr. Alvin.

We shovelled our neighbours front and back not obviously not her backyard.

Nice to get some extra exercise.

Well for some reason I tossed and turned and was feeling nauseated so did not sleep well.

I feel great this morning but unfortunately I am running a tad late.

How does that happen?

Fridays are a great day to show some extra kindness to someone.

Pick up a coffee for someone.

Shovel the walks for a elder neighbour.

Take a friend/neighbour’s dog for a walk.

Have a wonderful Friday and thank you for helping out.

Special Hello to: my friend in Regina as she celebrates a birthday today.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the Day ……

Good Morning and Welcome to Thursday the 19th day of November, 2015.

Another morning waking up to brown/green ground.

YAY …. for the 19th of November that is great.

I heard that the white stuff is everywhere outside our City … but not here.

For now.

I am going to enjoy it.

So nice being able to wear shoes or else boots but not slipping and sliding as you carefully plod along.

To answer the question …. still no.

Our unwanted guest still eludes us.

I will remain patient and hopeful.

Perfection would be that it has gone back outside.

This morning back upstairs with my lemon water, breakfast, and gratitude journal.

Decided to just have breakfast in my office so I can relax with no shoes on my feet.

I am much more at ease upstairs although I do not wish to live my life on the upper floor of my house, that would be ludicrous.

However, I am doing much better than the first time they came into our home.

I spent three days and nights at my daughter’s house.

So this is definitely conquering my fears somewhat.

Well this week has been all about being Happy and being Kind.

How did we do thus far?

Feeling better about life?

Did you do a random act of kindness above and beyond your normal routine?

We have two days left this week to feel more Happy than usual and to go that extra distance with Kindness.

How about it?

I would love to hear from you.

We need to start a planetary movement.

Happy Thursday ….

Special Hello to: my sister …..

Always, Carol and Alvin

Just had to add this note.  After I wrote this blog and went into my bedroom, I opened the blinds and what did I see?

The white stuff all over the ground.

Guess it decided to snow less than half an hour after we got out of bed.

We officially have snow.

It may not last …..

Who knows.

Thought for the day…

Good Morning and Welcome to Tuesday the 17th day of September, 2013.

So did you have a great Monday and did you perform a random act of kindness?

Did you know that it doesn’t have to be huge?

It could be something like “paying a compliment to someone.”

Say thank you ….

Say please …..

I think that we need to say more positive things to people.

We often hear the negative side of everything whether at home or at work.

We need to appreciate people more.

ENOUGH of this negative nilly stuff.

I want to hear good things.

I want to know that I am appreciated.

I want to know that I matter.

I want to know that someone cares.

I want to know that my hard work is noticed.

After all, don’t we all.

So when you think that you have to bark orders, yell at someone for making a mistake or be a negative nilly – think again.

BEING KIND AND APPRECIATIVE AND GRATEFUL will get you way farther and besides you feel so much better.

I know it is not always the easiest thing to do but perhaps if we all tried a bit harder we would be in a better place.

Please try for me.

Have the best day ever.

Make your day by making someone else’s.

Special Hello to: my sister – I think of you always and miss the times we lived together…. 🙂 and see you in three sleeps …. YAY.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Dear Sister, (she is the cuteness on the left)

This is one of my most favourite photos of you and me.

I just want you to know that I appreciate you so much.

You are always there when I need you – no questions asked.

You are honest and true.

Loving and Kind.

Thank you ……

Thought for the day…..

The sky is beautiful this morning.

The clouds appear to be blue with hints of pink due to the way that the sun is reflecting or shining on them….

So pretty.

Well it is going to be a great day, RIGHT…..

We all are going to be the happiest that we have ever been.

We all are going to be the best people that we have ever been.

We all are going to smile at every living being/creature we see.

We all are going to do something extra special for a friend, loved one or a stranger.

A random act of kindness …….  🙂

We all are the BEST PEOPLE!

So on this mid week day …… just remember this ….

YOU ROCK, so let’s show the rest of the world just how much.

Have a great day everyone …..

Special Hello: to a special young lady who took the time to send me an email with some of the things that I had on my list yesterday …… “K” you rock….. thank you.

Always, Carol and Alvin

P.S.  have to leave early to catch the bus this morning ….. have a great day……. YAY…. YAHOO.
