Thought for the day ….

Good Morning and Welcome to Saturday the 13th day of April, 2019.

Almost mid point.

The sun is shining brightly and it is a beautiful day in the neighbourhood.

We were up early and already went over to Humphrey’s house and cleaned out his litter box and then decided to bring him over to our house.

The boys have been outside and even tried their paws at playing.

Alvin wants Humphrey to play so badly but Humphrey is not quite sure.

So he lays or sits and then will bat his paw at Alvin.

Or they chase each other outside and inside.

I have the cutest photos this morning.

They say it all …..

Alvin was laying on our bed and Humphrey was just hanging out so I decided to lift him onto the bed.

He immediately sat beside Alvin and starting to look out the window.

Just a dog and his cat.

I wished that I had been carrying the camera with me as I missed the best photo of the day.

They were playing upstairs.

Well at least trying.

Funny how the both of them have to be wherever I am.

Both are just hanging out patiently waiting for me.

Humphrey even tried out Alvin’s water dish in our bedroom.

Alvin has his regular Doctor appointment so I will take Humphrey home for that time period.

Once home I will go and bring him back to our house.

Coffee with the girls at my house once we were back home.

A busy morning.

I have the best life.

Thank you for the best four legged friends for me and Alvin.

Happy Saturday.

Special Hello to: my daughter, son-in-law and grand-puppies – we love you guys.

Always, Carol & Alvin & Humphrey

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Friday the 4th day of December, 2015.

Another absolutely gorgeous morning here in Edmonton.

This morning at 5:00 a.m. while we were outside, Mr. Alvin was digging in the snow (when he should have been pooping).

I kept saying …… “go poop” and he “kept digging.”

This carried on for about five minutes and although I was enjoying standing on the deck in the warm winter air; I grew concerned.

What in the hay why was digging to the South Pole?

Just after that he stopped digging as he had retrieved the prize (whatever that was?) …

I must admit that I was kind of nervous to find out …..

Yikes…

Then (because it is dark) he stepped into the light and I could see that it was one of his chew treats.

Somewhere along the line he had buried it and forgot about it or something.

So he stood there and chewed on it for a couple of minutes.

Then proudly ran up onto the deck and I said once again “go poop Alvin.”

This time he dropped the treat and when back down to the grass covered with snow area and guess what “he went poop.”

Pooping is a big deal in this family.

Always have to make sure he goes before I leave for work.

Keeping regular is a good thing.

That was our morning about forty minutes ago and now it is almost time to hop into the shower.

I hope that wherever you are …. you have an awesome day.

I hope that your belly is full, that you are safe, warm and that you are loved.

Happy Friday.

Special Hello to: my friend who is now living in Spain …… I hope it all works out and you can move back to Canada …. we miss you.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Old photo of Mr. Alvin – he was only a baby then…. how you could ever be mad at that face.

Love you buddy.

Thought for the day ……

Good Morning and Welcome to Saturday the 19th day of September, 2015.

It is a warm, bright sunny morning here in Edmonton.

WOW, it is the weekend and I am so happy.

Mr. Alvin has his regular monthly pedicure / other checks appointment this morning.

When I mentioned the receptionist name “J” he jumped up and gave me a kiss.

Safe to say that he loves this girl.

It is so funny he is always excited to go and see “J” and the other girls that work at the Clinic but when he is having his nails done he is not so happy.

At least I do not have to carry him there ….. now that would be something.

After I write this blog it will be time to get ready and go.

After I get home I am going to make me a pot of coffee and set down and write up my TO DO LIST.

There are items that must get done over the next few weeks plus the routine items such as laundry and cleaning.

Did you have a good week?

I hope so.

It was good at the office ….. busy as per usual.

I like to be busy but it is always nice if one can be “caught up.”

It has never happened since I started at the office.

It is the nature of the beast so to speak that one always has an inflow of work.

Never to be “caught up.”

Well one of the things on my list is to clean out the closet in this office.

I have kind of stashed things in there since the kids moved in April.

Well that is not entirely true.

It has always been my gift closet, craft storage, odds and ends storage.

But it is time to go through it and see what is needed and what is not.

Last weekend I cleaned out the guest closet and it looks great.

One closet at a time.

Closets are always interesting.

We always seem to put things behind doors just in case we might need them.

Eventually the doors barely close and you have to make some decisions.

Otherwise you become a hoarder or sorts.

I am not making light of this issue for sure.

So many of us ….. keep things thinking we might need them at some point.

Part of this comes from not wanting to do without.

Part comes from perhaps laziness.

Part comes from history …. depressions ….. wars….

There are all sorts of reasons.

But for me, it is the thought I might use it.

I have found that since I turned 50, I do find it easier to “toss” and “give” things away when I am not using them.

There is something freeing about it actually.

Well I had better go and get ready to start this day.

I have a bit of a headache … maybe because I have not had coffee yet.

But it will have to wait until we return from the Vet.

That is usually a quick visit …. so I won’t have to wait too long.

I wish you a Happy Saturday.

I wish you great pride in whatever you accomplish or not.

I wish you time to relax.

I wish you to be surrounded by love and laughter.

Special Hello to: my friend “M” who brings back fond memories.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Tuesday the 8th day of September, 2015.

Dark out ….. dry on the deck …. no rain overnight.

Wow, Tuesday already …. so great to have a long weekend.

I am so grateful that I was able to spend some of it with my dear friend “P” from Regina.

We had such a great visit.

Now today back to the regular routine …..

Work …. home ….. work …. HOME …..

We are so wrapped in routine we humans.

In fact, I would say that most of us are most happiest when we are in a routine.

When we get up at the same time, eat at the same time, work at the same time …..sleep at the same time.

It is a circle that for the most part keeps us the most happiest.

If you think about it having your life in a regular schedule/routine helps you to do what you needs to be done.

At least it works for me.

There I go again …. back to the “TO DO LISTS.”

But really …. they do work.

Whenever you have things to do write them down.

As you complete them …. check off ….. DONE.

We/I/You will have a sense of accomplishment.

Even if it is just emptying the dishwasher.

Trust he it feels like you actually did something.

Well I can hear the sidewalk calling my name …..

Now that I have to wear a jacket and “shoes” ….. need a couple extra minutes to put the final touches on before I leave the house.

Have a Happy Tuesday.

Special Hello to: my friend “M” …. thank you for your thoughtful comments and your “work” is amazing.

Always, Carol and Alvin
