2021

HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY EVERYONE.

I think that pictures speak a thousand words. Our family and friends are so important to our well being.

Our friends and family come in all sizes and packages and from everywhere.

On this day and always surround yourself with the ones you love.

Relish those relationships.

Grow those relationships.

Respect those relationships.

Show patience and be compassionate with those relationships.

Happy Valentine’s Day to you!

You are important to us all.

Have an awesome Day.

My Alvin …..

Have a great day.

Living with Kindness, Respect, Compassion and Patience.

Always, Carol & Alvin

It is a NEW YEAR.

Well the sky is overcast this morning in Edmonton.

Alvin and I have been up for a bit now.

Just pondering the situation of the world.

This CORONAVIRUS has made some people into selfish bastards.

Or perhaps just shown their true selves.

I am going to use that word because that is what it seems.

Why else would anyone need to scour their towns and cities and buy up carts full of bathroom tissue.

It started there.

Now people are buying up meat in large quantities, cleaning supplies and all sorts of food items.

Lineups are out the door at grocery stores.

As the shelves become more bare and the stores are not able to keep up with the demand, as more and more people are infected.

Over time of course, this will affect the truck drivers bringing the food items to us.

What about the farmers, the factory workers and so on.

What will happen?

Greed through the ages and in 2020 it is running as rampant as ever.

If you think that it is funny or that you are out to make a profit ….. guess again.

At some point it will come back and bite you in the ass.

This whole thing has made me just plain mad and oh, so disappointed in the human race.

I know that it is not everyone but come on people.

If we stay calm and follow the “rules” set out by our Health Care Providers we will be okay.

Yes, I know that there will be deaths and that is of course very tragic and I could be one.

NO one knows.

But please this is 2020 and we should have learned a lesson or two by now.

I will, me, myself and I remain calm in this STORM.

Panic, I will not.

I promise to do the best to help others who cannot help themselves.

Please remember those who live from cheque to cheque.

There are many of us on the planet.

Ranging from young to old.

Buy what you need as you normally would.

As the snow gently hits the ground, I am in the realization that I am okay.

Alvin and I have food in the fridge and the pantry.

We have a warm home to live in.

I am grateful to all those who make this all possible for us every day.

Those folks who work in jobs where there is no “staying home” to weather this storm.

The Nurses, the Doctors, the City Employees and the list is long.

We are grateful to you.

Keep safe and in good health.

I hope that you have a good Saturday.

Be in good health.

Be KIND AND RESPECTFUL in all that you do most especially at this time.

Always, Carol &  Alvin

Remember the government, politicians and other leaders cannot do this by themselves, it is up to each one of us to do our part.

We are all human beings and must work together.

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Thursday the 28th day of June, 2018.

A beautiful morning with blue sky and sunshine.

There is a breeze which is keeping the temperature cool.

Perfection.

My last work day for the week going into an extra long weekend for me.

So excited.

Tonight I am going with two of my girl friends to a PAINT NIGHT.

Can hardly wait to try out my “painting skills.”

Or rather I should say to see if I have any “painting skills.”

It is one thing doing something abstract.

Time will tell.

I will take a photo and share my work with you.

It is a reminder for me to pick up some paint and get this room, my office painted.

I want to rearrange and redo things in here.

We are coming into the CANADA DAY weekend.

People will be travelling to OTTAWA this weekend to be in the nation’s capital for the festivities.

There will be music and fireworks and more.

I have never been to Ottawa and have only watched it from the comfort of my living room.

I am excited to be at home with Alvin.

The plan is to clean up my email, save photos outside of my hard drive and purge.

Somehow I find it hard to delete anything.

So I do not require ten shots of the same person.

I do not need a photo that is not in focus.

Time to get serious and get things done.

The other night I had a call from a charity organization who will be in the neighbourhood next weekend needing clothing and household goods.

Another reason to go through things.

Lots to do with gardening in between and walks with Alvin.

Have you ever been asleep and woke up speaking?

This morning we were up at 4:30 a.m. and because I have this bit of a scratchy throat I decided that we would not walk this morning.

After Alvin had his breakfast and had been outside, we hit the sofa for some extra zzz’s.

Just as the timer when off I woke up and was talking.

The only things that I remember was my Mom and sister were there.

I think we may have been shopping.

Anyway we were going to sit down at a table and my sister had been telling me she wanted to sit “there.”

Wherever there was, I am not sure.

I was telling her “sure, go ahead.”

So there must have been some history ….. but I do not remember ever having a thing about sitting in a certain spot.

Anyway I woke up and the dream fell away.

I was happy that both my Mom and my sister were there.

I do not remember having a dream with them for many years.

It is also funny at how quickly one can fall asleep and start to dream.

This is the timeline.

We laid down on the sofa at 4:40 a.m. and I set the timer for 5:20.

I woke up at one point and looked at my watch and it was 5:00, so sometime in twenty minutes I fell asleep and started to dream.

WOW.

Well almost time to hit the road.

I hope that you have a wonderful Thursday.

Special Hello to: my sister, I was dreaming of you.  We may have been shopping???

Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Thursday the 25th day of January, 2018.

Well it be snowing …… just tiny tiny snowballs falling from the sky.

Or at least they were when I was outside about 5:30 am.

Sometimes it is just a poem day,  here is a poem I wrote back in 2011.

***********************************************************

IN YOUR HEART

In your heart lies the secret to your life.

In your heart lies the beat to every song and every dance.

In your heart lies the dreams for the future, and the ones forgotten.

In your heart lies every moment, every tear, every bout of laughter, every everything.

In your heart lies the gold that shines in the sunlight.

In your heart are the stars that shine like diamonds, blinding in the night.

In your heart is the strength to go where your body must follow.

In your heart is the soul that reminds you to live, love and laugh.

In your heart is mine beating like a reminder to all that we shared.

In your heart ……

In your heart I long to be…

In your heart I wonder…

In your heart I hear…

In your heart I feel….

In your heart I live, I love and I remember.

In your heart, for my heart.

My soul I do surrender.

CLewis, April 4th ,2011  (dedicated to the loves of my life)

Special Hello to: All those that I have loved over my life.

Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Friday the 11th day of November, 2016.

Special day for more than a couple of reasons.

First, Happy Birthday to my nephew “T” …. not by blood but is family.

He has been family to me since the second he came into this world.

I have known him since that day.

He has a warm heart and great smile.

Alvin and I want to wish you the best day ever.

We miss you and look forward to spending time with you again in the future.

Happy Birthday Buddy ….. have a great great day.

***********

Today is also the date that we remember those brave souls over all time who have

volunteered to leave their homes and families and what was

familiar to them to defend our country.

We say from the bottom of our hearts “Thank You.”

We appreciate your lives and service to our country.

May PEACE rule this Earth one day so that no blood is ever shed again.

Remember to live your life in Peacefulness.

Remember to Remember that all life is precious.

Special Hello to: all those brave souls who give up so much for us each day.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Saturday the 10th day of October, 2015.

YAY, it is Saturday ….. WHOO HOO ……

Sun was shining and now is clouding up a bit but the temperature is warm.

It is this weekend that we celebrate the Canadian Thanksgiving.

On this weekend, I am grateful to live in my neighbourhood surrounded by wonderful people; grateful for a wonderful City, Province and Country.

Grateful for my family and friends.

Grateful to live in peace.

Grateful that I have Alvin to see before I close my eyes and when I open them in the morning.

Grateful for good food and words.

Grateful for the medicines and the technologies that have got us to this place.

It is a great weekend.

Happy Thanksgiving to all Canadians.

May we continue to grow and prosper.

May we continue to be kind and generous, respectful and compassionate.

This is the weekend to reflect and remember how we got to this place.

To be grateful …..

Time to get this show on the road.

Lots to do ….. VOTE (advance polls), Scentsy party, Alvin’s bath, computer stuff, perhaps rake the leaves again (did yesterday, too) …… the list is much longer.

Special Hello to: family and friends, Happy Thanksgiving.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Tuesday the 15th day of September, 2015.

We are at the halfway point for the month.

It has been kind of a rainy month ….

In fact, it is raining outside as we speak.

It feels like a “Rainy Night in Georgia” …..

Definitely going to be an umbrella day.

I made my lunch so that it will fit in my purse ….. cross body one.

So makes it easier to carry the umbrella ….

Try to think ahead ….

Somedays it works …. ha ha ha ….. that is supposed to be laughing.

The LOL …. seems strange ….

Okay maybe on this Tuesday morning I am feeling a bit tired ….. I guess that rain likely kept me up.

Doesn’t usually but this time it did.

I know I was dreaming but do not remember anything.

Mr. Alvin and RAIN …. not a good mix.

The poor little guy really needed some encouragement to go outside this morning.

I have to try again (for the fourth time) as he was not outside long enough to poop.

Is that too much information?

Oh well, just the truth of the matter.

I do feel bad.

When I first adopted him and for a long time after ….. snowing, blowing, raining or dry I always went out with him.

Carrying an umbrella for us both if necessary ( I have a really big one ).

Now these years later …. his Momma stands in the doorway … sometimes the door is closed .. sometimes not.

This morning perhaps I should grab the umbrella and go out with him.

That being the case … better get going so that I have time to grab my things before leaving to catch the bus.

Thank goodness it is not windy …. so I can carry an umbrella for my walk to the bus.

Long enough to get wet ….

I hope that you have a happy Tuesday.

Surround yourself with love, respect and kindness.

The REST will follow.

Always DREAM …. might as well dream BIG.

Walk toward it …. try something new….. you have to work at it ….

Have a great day.

Special Hello to: my sister “C” ….. hi darling ….. how about SKYPE this weekend?

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day…..

Good Morning and Welcome to Friday the 10th day of January, 2014.

YAY, another gorgeous morning ….. we are so lucky ….. so blessed.

Alvin and I have been enjoying walks every night ….. so great.

“FOOD FOR THOUGHT”- FRIENDS

How are you on the friends front?

What kind of friends do you have?

What kind of friend are you?

Do you listen?

Are you needy?

It makes a difference.

Do you talk to your friend(s) every day?

Do you see them on a regular basis?

Do they live close to you?

Just remember always to “give” and you will receive back.

We the best friend you can possibly be.

Friends are a true blessing.

I hope that you and your friends are doing great.

Take the time to see a special friend today, if possible.

Special Hello to: my sister ….. SKYPE this weekend?

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day…..

NOTE TO SELF:

Self, remember to listen

Self, remember to read everything

Always, Carol

Thought for the day……

Always remember that even when it might seem that you don’t have everything just perfect in your life …..

Take a close look around and  you will see that most times ….. you have everything that you really need.

Love and laughter.

Remember to love your life.

Remember to live with love.

Feel the love that surrounds you.

Laugh to beat the band…..

Laughter is the best medicine.

Have a great, great day.

Always, Carol
