2021

Good Morning ALL! Welcome to the last day of 2021, Friday, December 31st. 2021 was not much different from 2020 in that it was filled with financial hardship, heartbreak, sadness, stress and a longing for good things to come. The new year is on our doorstep and is filled with possibilities. I was reading my daughter’s Instagram post yesterday. She posted one of her latest creations a collage celebrating “possibilities.” She wrote: “To Possibilities. Ah the possibilities of a new year, a clean slate on which to dream. Do you set intentions or resolutions or choose a word to live by for the year? Or are you like me and sorta run around in all the possibilities, making a creative mess but having fun along the way (I might try the word “focus” this year)? I wish you all a 2022 filled with good health, love, creativity and all those delicious possibilities.”

What will our thoughts, our intentions, our resolutions be for the New YEAR? Do we remain focused and diligent during the New YEAR OR do those resolutions fall by the wayside a few weeks in? We mean well but sometimes we make unrealistic goals and resolutions.

My daughter’s post gave me the idea that maybe if we set out intentions, our resolutions if you will by a word or a handful of words that have great meaning and direction for us, that perhaps we will remain focused and keep them for the days of the coming year.

What are you words? What is your MANTRA? Do you have one?

I have been closing this post for months with the following: Continuing to live this life with kindness, respect, compassion, patience, love, laughter, understanding and gratitude. I am going to add two words possibilities and focus.

My new mantra for 2022:

Continuing to live this life with kindness, respect, compassion, patience, love, laughter, understanding, gratitude, focus and possibilities.

Write your words, say your words aloud, make them a part of your day, an important part of your life and they will become your every day, your life.

I wish for the New YEAR to bring you and your family good health, a sense of renewal, but most of all, I hope the New YEAR brings you possibilities. We, you, me and the world need possibilities now, more than ever.

Happy New YEAR to my family and friends and to all of you who take your precious time to read this post each and every day. I so appreciate each one of you. May your lives be filled with good health, great joy, much love and laughter and abundance and a clean slate on which to dream.

A special thank you to my daughter for her words who inspired this post and who gives me inspiration every day of my life. You are my dream, you are my possibility and I love you very much.

Thank you to Mr. Alvin who in a few short weeks will turn 13. My constant companion and who brings me joy and laughter and stories. I love you buddy!

So on that note, HAPPY NEW YEAR. The best is yet to come. 2022. A year filled with possibilities, of dreams yet to be realized.

Continuing to live this life with kindness, respect, compassion, patience, love, laughter, understanding, gratitude, focus and possibilities.

Always, Carol, Alvin and Cookie

P.S. I think that we are going to miss the Cookie Monster. She is lovingly nicknamed CM for her boisterous, active nature. She is a good girl. Just super busy. LOL. H

HAPPY NEW YEAR.

Where anything is possible!!

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Tuesday the 12th day of January, 2016.

Happy Tuesday morning to you all.

We are going into a warming trend for at least today …..

So amazing that overnight it can be minus 20 and during the day minus 3.

The sun certainly makes a huge difference.

We have not seen much of that big ball of fun over the past couple of months.

It seems to be hiding behind the cloud cover.

I miss the sunshine.

Most of our winters we do have more sunshine than clouds.

Oh well ….

Mr. Alvin is laying by my chair “chawing” on the chew treat.

He has two or three of them ….. at least one outside.

He loves to bury them in the snowbanks on our deck.

It is so cute after he spends about ten minutes out there he comes into the house with a snowy nose.

He looks so funny and cute all at the same time.

What a guy.

Well it is Tuesday … any way that you slice it.

I guess I need to get with 2016 as the calendar hanging up in my office is from 2015.

Somehow this year I only managed to get two calendars …. one is at the office and the other is in the kitchen.

I will just have to watch for some more and perhaps just take advantage of the calendar on my computer.

That would save paper, too.

Just wondering how your resolutions are going for the New Year or perhaps you did not make any.

I did not make any as such, and will live each day as full of good healthy choices as possible.

Now there remains some Christmas baking in my house ….. so not all of my choices have been healthy.

I have been giving some away as well ….. must give more.

Well I guess it is almost time to put the finishing touches on getting ready for the day.

I hope that you have an amazing TUESDAY ….. with or without resolutions, it is all good.

Thank you for reading my blog and for sharing yours.

One thing I do want to do this year is read more of other people’s blogs.

That is high on my list.

Happy Day …..

Special Hello to: all of my fellow bloggers …. keep writing ….. keep reading ….. thank you.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day…..

Good Morning and Welcome to Monday the 31st and final day of March, 2014.

Ah, the last day ever of March, 2014.

Here we are at the end of the third month of 2014.

How has this year been for you thus far?

Are you working on your bucket list?

Did you make resolutions for the New Year?

Are you dreaming big?

Did you make a TO DO List for the New Year?

Whatever you are doing …. at least you are moving forward.

Now isn’t that a great direction to be going?

My daughter gave me some life and business calendars for this New Year.

I partially completed them …..

I plan to pull them out this week and start writing.

You have to start somewhere.

I did do something that was on my recent TO DO List and that was to SKYPE with my sister.

Last night as soon as I got home from work (stopped by and picked up Alvin from his sister’s house and walked home, exercise for us both, YAY) I put supper in the oven and called my sister.

She filled me in on all the things that they did while vacationing in VEGAS recently and the temperatures.

So great to talk to her ….. get caught up with everything back “home.”

No matter what the size of something that you crossed off your list just remember this “it is still something.”

I hope that you keep making lists and dreaming and crossing items off the list.

Have a great last day of March, 2014.

YAHOO ….. now APRIL.

I hope that April will be filled with warmer temperatures and lots of sunshine.

Special Hello to: my family …. I miss you all.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day…..

Good Morning and Welcome to Monday the 30th of December and the second last day of 2013.

WOW, is it just me or that 2013 go by extra fast.

Always at the end of the year we made “resolutions” for weight loss, to spend less and to save more, and on and on.

I have not really made resolutions for the simple reason they mostly seem to be doomed from the start.

So instead I just decide to be a better person.

I always try to be better than the day before ….. more kind …. more patient….more grateful.

If you work on the inside the outside will follow.

You must love yourself before anything else will work.

So on this day ….. just be a good person.

Have to run …. time to go to work.

Have a great day.

Special Hello to YOU.

ALLways, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day……

Welcome to Monday, January 30th, 2012 …

Almost one whole month into the New Year.

So how are things with you all?

Did you make resolutions or promises to yourself about breaking a “habit” or starting a new health care regime?

Or did you just say “to heck with it all” and just try each day to live your very best?

Personally, I just try to live my best life each day ….

Somedays I am more successful than others but all in all, I believe that I do quite well.

I have found that as much as I am a people pleaser ….. I will just say that I prefer to see my glass half full.

I wished that everyone saw their glass half full.

What a wonderful world it would be (I love that line ….. it’s from a old song)

Can you guess which song?

Unfortunately I can hear the words in my head ….. but the name of the song eludes me.

So back to the topic ( see how easily I get sidetracked) …… well at 6:15 a.m. …… it is easy to do that…..  🙂

I am going to keep working on keeping that glass half full and perhaps even one day it will be full to the top or overflowing …..

I guess really it is getting close ….. I have a great life ….. I have my Alvin, my dog  (great companion and has a great personality) ….. I have a wonderful family and great friends.

I have my own home/house, something that I have dreamed of my whole life…… now when I want to paint ….. I can paint until the cows come home…. LOL.

I am in great health, I am pursuing my passions, and hope to make them more dominant in my life in due course (sooner than soon, would be great).

Most days I am very happy …… joyful, even…  I can see a little patch of heaven from my back porch when the skies are clear with twinkling stars and that beautiful moon…

So I am very blessed.

Always remember to take the time and make a list of the things that you love/ are passionate about, ….. and check off the ones that you have or are working towards.

So I hope that you have a “glass half full” kind of day and I wish you that in your life, always.

Happy Monday.

Special Hello:  to all those who really would like to have their glass half full …… just believe, and send positive energy outwards …….

Always, Carol
