Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Monday the 4th day of February, 2019.

Another cold, snowy day has arrived.

First really COLD week all winter long so we really cannot complain.

Make sure that you bundle up in many layers when you go outside today and all this week.

I am grateful that both Alvin and I have a nice warm home.

We are truly blessed.

Yesterday was a fairly quiet day with the exception of some “battery” issues.

Who knew that all 3 volt batteries are not created equal.

So when my friend was out and picked me up a 3 volt battery; I was surprised when it did not fit.

Not the low battery / failure signal keeps on wailing.

With some luck perhaps it will not disturb me Alvin while he is home today.

My daughter ordered me some batteries from Amazon and I hope they arrive today.

I am again grateful for the ride to work this morning.

Grateful that I have a warm coat and boots for the wait and walk from the bus after work.

Always seems colder and perhaps it is in the morning.

I am rereading the book “THE MAGIC” by Rhonda Byrne.

All about gratitude.

Counting your blessings …. being thankful ….. certainly does make your life brighter and easier.

Negative, which as of late I have fallen into, can drag you down.

Negativity takes away the brightness and makes things harder.

Every time that we criticize we cancel out the blessings that were on the way.

Negativity takes away the Positivity.

Take some time every single day maybe even all day to be grateful.

Say aloud or write on your computer or on paper – all of the things that you are grateful for ….

I am grateful for my house as it shelters me and Alvin from the elements.

I am grateful for me Alvin as he is a great companion and makes me smile.

I am grateful to be employed as it enables me to have this house, food on the table, to pay bills and to live my life.

I am grateful to have rides to work this week as it is bitterly cold outside.

I am grateful to my friend who is giving me and Alvin a ride to and from his surgery on Thursday.

I am grateful to be alive….

Well time to start gathering up things and start putting on the layers.

I hope that you are safe, warm and happy on this Monday and always.

We are so blessed …. a good thing to remember.

Special Hello to: my sister, keeping warm here and hope you are there, too.

Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Wednesday the 30th day of January, 2019.

Warming up and snowing.

Rides to and from work today, thankfully no riding on the bus.

Teddy comes for a couple of days as his parents are going on vacation.

Love having him in the house.

He brings joy to me and Alvin.

Lightens our moods.

I guess it is the energy of youth.

Hopefully it will work out so that we can walk over and pick up Teddy after work.

I have the song “HAPPY” by Pharrell Williams playing over and over in my head.

I would like it to keep me in this place.

Actually woke up feeling happy this morning.

That is a first in awhile and not that I have necessarily woke up grumpy but just not feeling gleeful.

Today is going to be full of glee.

I am on top of the world.

Yes, I am.

Keeping up the positive, joyful energy.

I guess there will be shovelling in our future.

The pups will enjoy the fresh snow.

Alvin will be burying his chew treats in the snow for sure.

What am I saying …. will be …. pretty much every one that I give him goes outside.

He takes his time and very careful digs with his paws and his nose a bed to bury his beloved treats.

I love watching him putting them to bed.

When he digs them up …. just as cute.

Carefully and with precision he brings them back to the surface and into the house.

Full circle.

How about some photos for a snowy Wednesday.

Random shots from my gallery.

I love this plant arrangement my neighbour gave me before Christmas.

Sadly only part of it remains alive but it is alive and transplanted.

Teddy, Alvin’s BFF with a chew treat almost his size.

Me and my siblings when we were very young.

One of my most favourite photos.

Ah, my babies, so cute.

How can you not love those faces?

Aspen and Milo patiently waiting for treats and Alvin, not so much.

I love this old canister, a great find from our trip last summer.

Nothing like mountains in the smoke

Books, one of my most favourite things.

Ending with some pretty flowers.

Gotta run and catch my ride.

Happy Wednesday.

Special Hello to: my friends and family, you raise me up and keep me going.

Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Friday the 25th day of January, 2019.

Well here we are almost one whole month into the New Year.

It has been a busy one for me and Alvin.

Weather has been all over the map.

Mainly quite nice.

After a couple of minus 20 mornings it is warming up.

Supposed to be +5 degrees celsius tomorrow.

WOW, end of January, crazy.

Now they are forecasting snow for today, argh.

We have enough for now.

Mr. Alvin has settled back into our routine after his big BIRTHDAY weekend and company.

We are having company for a visit and then dinner tomorrow.

So tonight will be getting some laundry done, a walk with Alvin and I am CALLING my sister.

Time flies and it has been quite a bit of time since we had a nice chat.

We always have good intentions and then before you know it …. months have elapsed.

Thankfully today is Friday.

My neighbour gave me a ride to and from work yesterday.

On the way home from work we stopped at COSTCO and I was able to pick up the groceries that I needed.

Another ride this morning and then bus tonight.

My carpool is leaving tonight for a MEXICO vacation with her husband.

Lucky guys.

I gave Alvin a chew treat last night.

First thing he did was to take it outside and bury it in a snow bank on the deck.

This morning he went outside to said snowbank and dug it out.

Came to the door with snow on his nose and the chew treat laying beside him.

When I opened the door, I instructed him to pick itĀ  up.

He complied bringing it into the house.

He finally let it down near the stove.

When I went to turn out the lights to come back upstairs to get ready …. I hear a whimper as he wanted to bring the chew treat upstairs …. lights on.

Upstairs he dropped it in the office but when I only turned the computer on and then went to the bathroom to brush & floss my teeth …. he whined at the office door.

Turned lights on.

He brought the chew treat into the bathroom and dropped it by the bathtub.

Brushing done.

Lights out.

AlvinĀ  standing at bedroom door ….

Turned lights on …. Alvin grabbed chew treat and brought into master bathroom.

Once done with putting on “eyebrows and lips” …. lights out ….

A different light on ….

Alvin picked up chew treat and it is laying beside him on his blue blanket as I type these words.

What a guy.

Every room we were in …. the chew treat had to be.

He will likely bring it with him before once again burying it.

He may or may not actually chew it.

So cute.

He loves to hide and bury things …. mostly his chew treats.

Used to be his toys when he was little.

Well almost time to leave for work once again.

Thankfully it is Friday.

Have an awesome day ….. almost the weekend.

Special Hello to: my friends and family ….

Always, Carol & Alvin
